Well technically we weren't in Europe last season because we didn't qualify for it proper.
-
Don't you mean attack? Our defending is just fine. It's scoring goals that's our problem. But then that's what happens when the club doesn't buy a new striker and relies on a couple of crocks and Long to lead the line.
-
Disgusting. A lucky win for football's most pathetic club. Just remember Arsenal, you're winning **** all this year. Shlong should be ashamed of himself too for missing those chances.

ADAM LALLANA: "I didn't want to be Southampton captain"
Saints Fan Dan replied to rickylambert's topic in The Saints
Well seeing as he played for us for years, left in acrimonious circumstances and our club gets mentioned a fair bit in the article, quite a lot of people care. -
I think Theo Walcott is worth a mention, he was the first of the big academy player sales and was only a year and a half before the sale of Bale.
-
Still say give him time. But something's not right, you can feel it. Puel has the demeanor that David Moyes had at Man United 3 years ago, that look of "what am I doing here?".
-
Oh great JWP is on. We're gonna win the game for sure!!

ADAM LALLANA: "I didn't want to be Southampton captain"
Saints Fan Dan replied to rickylambert's topic in The Saints
While on one hand it must have been a bit suffocating having Cortese on his back all the time, he does come across as very pathetic. "oh boo hoo I didn't want the captaincy". But then I guess that's why England are so bad, pathetic, snivelling players like him in the side. Jordan Henderson is captain of Liverpool ffs and look as wet lettuces like Theo Walcott at Arsenal. Lallana is a great player but he is a very very strange man. -
Saw a video today of Ian Wright saying Calum Chambers should leave Arsenal. He's really ****ed his career up the wall hasn't he? Hasn't done a damn thing there and while he didn't behave appallingly like Lovren and Lallana, Chambers defect still left a sour taste in the mouth. So ****** to him.

Game over.

Commentator on my feed (think it's that cretin Peter Drury) keeps referring to Ibrahimovic by his first name. Cringeworthy stuff.
-
Don't actually mind Poch anymore, he is a great manager, seems a decent bloke and genuinely loves Southampton. Everton and Koeman though, well I hope they crash and burn. A Ronald Koeman squad being unfit at the start sounds quite familiar doesn't it?
-
And Man United. And Chelsea. And Man City... and I'm just counting the new Wembley. I suppose the more irrelevant they get, the more Portsmyths they create.
-
Good Lord, the sheer delusion. The blaming of Carlisle for defending their lead with 10 men, the signing of 11 new players when they only needed a few tweaks. Get some popcorn ready, we could yet have more laughs this season.
-
They had 22 shots to Carlisle's 2. I think I can hear the boos from here
-
So they're going to walk out for a bit in a match of a competition they've already paid to see? "We thought if fans boycotted the games completely, the club would suffer financially through no fault of their own." Because it's NEVER been their fault ever, has it? They're just scared they'll draw us and get beaten by our kids, that's the real reason isn't it?
-
I can still see them ballsing it up, but really they should have done it last season. Still, after seeing McInnes telling everyone minutes after the Plymouth game that they'll be going up as Champions, well that makes me want them to fail even more.
-
You have to have at least 5 first team players in your starting 11. This is a stupid idea, way to knacker out our players who are already playing in Europe. 8 matches altogether as well. This competition was so League 1 and 2 teams could possibly get a day out at Wembley and now it's been diluted by getting the bigger teams play. And what's with that American looking EFL logo? EPL, EFL, fück off!
-
I actually really like that Norwich shirt, apart from the plastered on sponsor. But I rather like hideous kits, there's something appealing about them, which is why I also liked the pinstripe from 12/13 and all red from the season after.
-
Liverpool's approach is going "oh that player has done well in our division and become well-known, let's buy him!", paying way too much for him, giving him stupid wages and wondering why they haven't done well. Their squad is full of players like these. We know we can't compete financially with them or other clubs so we go under the radar, look for bargains and players who fit in with our style of play and 'philosophy' and who can become great players. For clubs like Liverpool, it doesn't matter who it is as long as they get big names, even though they don't fit in with the team. They do it year in year out, thinking that because they are LIVERPOOL that they will win everything, but they never learn. Manchester United were good at it. Yes, they splashed the cash on some big signings, but most of their team were youth players or fairly cheap workhorse players who formed an actual TEAM. Arsenal are good at it too. Wenger may get stick but they're always in the top 4, better than Liverpool can manage. More recently, it's been Leicester. I'm not worried about this season, we'll be fine.
-
And with Lovren not even being at the finals due to falling out with his manager... Delicious.
-
Even after the launch of our first sash shirt in 1885, there were still grumblings of "it's hideous. We play in stripes ffs".
-
No it doesn't.
-
Agree with that, we keep persisting with these dark away kits and they're really nothing special. I suppose they serve their purpose in not clashing with other teams kits but when are we going to have another glorious yellow or even a blue kit again?!
-
No. The club banked too much on him coming back at the beginning of last season. I thought during his second injury last season that he had played his last game for us but I don't think he's got long.
