The new Perry Groves. He's ok but no more. IMO he didn't do much in the games he did play last year. He has a decent touch but no pace at all so he can't beat a man. He also can't tackle or head a ball which is kind of typical for a Saints midfielder. I think he looks like a decent player but when you actually look at it in the cold light of day, he produces very very little. Also, there's the injury record... it appears to be a different injury every time... A midfield of Lallana, Gillett, Schneiderlin and Holmes as has been suggested, would be an unmitigated lightweight disaster...

JP was a ****ing moron. I will post this or something similar on every thread in which he is mentioned.

Football is an easy game up to a point. Unless you're a Wenger, Ferguson or Mourinho - you should stick round pegs in round holes, players in their best positions. George either thinks he's clever when he isn't or he does spend the whole time is a p!ssed stupour. He was ****ing useless for us and the Scottish repeat has been soooooo predictable

Perry for Lancashire should be the only change. Gillett and Schneiderlin would be too lighweight and besides, Wotton does a good job as long as he keeps it simple.

They'll shuffle the deckchairs... Trott will come in for Bopara, bell will bat at 3 and Collingwood will stay at 5. Harmison will probably come out for Flintoff. ... and we won;t score enough runs... again

Stephen Fry's speech at Strauss' dinner at Lord's last week Part 2
L1Minus10 replied to John B's topic in General Sports
Brilliant stuff. Fry is a genius and I agree that his standard it very very high... 'Kingdom' is utter b0ll0ck5 though... -
Utter Utter ****. IMO Bell and Harmison should be banished for good, Bopara and Collingwood ****ed off until they can score some runs in county cricket.... Jimmy Anderson... overrated... if the ball doesn't swing, he goes for 5 an over... He and Onions are too similar to both be playing. Team for the next test... 1 Strauss 2 Cook (just about)... Jimmy Adams anybody ? 3 Trott 4 Most In form County batsman 5 2nd most In form county batsman 6 Prior 7 Flintoff (if fit) 8 Broad 9 Swann 10 Sidebottom 11 Onions or Anderson

I thought he worked very hard but not a lot came off for him. he didn;t get a single decision off the ref all day either. I don;t really believe anyone deserves to be classified as sh!te unless they really don't try and are completely useless. BWP was the benchmark for sh!te.
-
Saga worked his nuts off. Those who say he didn't are talking complete sh!te IMO.
-
It does for us. I couldn't give a flying one about Wigan or Derby. I see your point though.

The ref had his whistle in his mouth for the handball but hadn't blown so he obviously thought about giving a pen for that. When the guy fell over it gave him the excuse to blow. I think he literally thought that two half fouls makes a foul which of course it ****ing doesn't.
-
Thought Schneiderlin played really well until he screwed up the pass which led to the pen. He has a lot of ability so hopefully Pardew can get more out of him. Paterson getting injured messed us up as we had no forward onthe bench to bring on. Not bad - would have taken a draw before the game.

If we are winning the majority of our home games then people will come and the gates will be up around the 26k mark. A winnign team will be well supported, it doesn't matter what ****ing league you're in.

Short term theirs, long term ours. They overspent and won the FA Cup, we overspent and got relegated twice... so you could say that they overspent more wisely than we did. We however got tangible assets from it like SMS and Staplewood whereas they got a squad of good players who have now all but gone. The worst is over for us and the best maybe yet to come. The best is over for them and they have a long long way to fall. FAO Rusty the Skate or any Pompey fan on here.... genuine question... when you were buying all the players and winning the CUp etc. Where did you think all the money was coming from ? I kind of assumed that it was from Gaydemak (or his Dad) but of course, he just borrowed it all....

Who gives a **** what board it's on. Lets stop talking about that and get back to the point of the thread which is laughing at the situation with the fish fukkers

As it stands....we have a decent keeper... we will have a decent back 4 with Murty, Perry, Jaidi and Harding... and we have a decent strike force in Rasiak and Saganowski, who, despite wanting away are still here. The midfield is our weakest area with no one in there being 100% convincing. I guess Gillett is the best of the bunch with Mills and Lallana being ok on their day.... Midfield general required, roll on 7am tomorrow perhaps... I am not ITK...

One more time .... because it's hilarious....:smt036:D:smt040:supz::smt039

He's a brick sh1thouse, as wide as he is tall. Would be a great signing. He stands in front of the opposition keepers for free kicks and blots out the sun.

This is getting more and more like Pinnacle by the day. I can see this dragging on until a few days before the payment being due and then Fahim will do a bunk.... Not very pretty I tell thee...
-
Can someone explain to me why Pinnacle and their failed bid is in any way relevant now ?
-
If we go into any league match with Lancashire in the team, we will lose. A positive way to look at this is that if not playing today means that Thomas is fit for Millwall then I'm ok with that. Can't blame him for not being fit last season, his cruciate went FFS...
-
Murty as first choice, Ifil as back up. james to compete for a place in centre of midfeild. Simples.
-
Would rather have kept Smith than Holmes to be honest. At least Smith has the potential to be a proper winger in that he will take people on and has the skill and the pace. Wotte got that bit right.... what he got wrong was playing him on the right wing when he was totally left footed. Also had no upper body strength so got bullied out of everything.
-
Dear PompeyInBreeding Why do you think you'll finish above the relegation zone ?
-
Averages only tell you part of the story. Bell never scores heavily when it's needed. If we're 300-1 when he comes in then he's the man but if we're 45-4 and he has some responsibility then he wilts. He got in the Test side in 2005 for a series against Bangladesh, before they became anything like a useful side and he scored heavily which kept him in for the Ashes where he sucked - his average was still over 40 though because of the Bangladesh series. People talk of him being in form over a season but it's world of difference batting in early May, to batting in late July. Bopara was in great form in May and he's not now, same as Bell. Averages only tell part of the story. Carberry for example has scored 500ish runs in his last 3 matches - who would you say was the in form batsman ?
