I know loads and loads of mates that do football bets every week but I don't know 1 person that can actually say hand on heart, "I make money on a regular basis from gambling on football". I have heard a million stories about having 5 out of 6 or 7 out of 8 on the coupons, just let down by one result in the same way I always hear from mates who win a few quid like on Manure the other day. Ladbrokes went 3/1 RVP score first, United win. Obviously when they come in people shout from the rooftops about it but IMO only a tiny handful of real pros make money from this LONGTERM. Anyone can have a punt and win but doing it over a duration of time is almost impossible. I'd keep your money - the bookies will only be to pleased to keep taking it. They may pay out sometimes but generally theres only one winner and it aint you.

Yeah thats a f****** joke. I remember when he threatened to walk and the amount of people who were of the opinion "it's no big deal, there would be many people who could do the job as well as or better than him" I doubt it. Call it a love in or happy clapping or whatever but NC is the most important thing to happen to this club for a bloody long time. Full of ego, totally ruthless, doesn't **** about he's not here to make friends, he's here to make SFC a great club competing at the top.

So there's a good example then for us to compare ourselves with bearing in mind NC ambition and europe etc etc etc Right now, how do you think we fare against that Liverpool side that you don't think are any better than 6th? I don't get what people don't understand about this - is it just me or what? Might be a blessing for all we know - if we keep on with this policy of trying to get to the best we possibly can, buying 2 or 3 real quality signings rather than 10 squad players, we will move on up the league in time. If we're trying to compete right at the top these things are going to happen - if we wanted Will Buckley he'd be here same day but we're targeting a higher level now.

Also if it's a done deal as the sun seem to think it is i.e he's going to be revealed today, why on earth would a bookie offer 5.5 or whatever it was on him? it'd be more like 1/10 if it was so obvious.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. There are so many wnkrs playing pl football that it makes a refreshing change for an all round good guy to gain the success he deserves.
