I kept mistaking him for a steward.... Disappointing result last night but you can't win every game. But we have to learn to break down these teams that turn up and put everyone behind the behind the ball just to get the away point. Yep, Oldham's tactics stifled much of our creativity but we're better than that, we should have got 1 at least with all the chances we had. And I'm talking about from open play, not from the penalty (penalties?) we should have had.

+1 I too use the word 'lashings', my definition being a disproportionate amount of something which even though seems to be far too much at the time of application/thought is strangely just about the optimum amount when consumed/carried out. Anyone just started a family? Get some of this into the sprog.... Or perhaps not.

Watched Paranormal Activity last night. Our teenage girls said it was the most frightening film they'd ever seen and advised me and the spouse to watch it with the lights on and always stay together and not get up for a slash and leave the other on their own.... Well, armed with this information we settled down to watch. And then an hour and twenty minutes or so later it finished and we were still waiting to be scared s***less. Basically the film suffers from its own over hyping (and our girls attempts at bigging it up). The style has been done before with Blair Witch and The Haunting (the Robert Wise (1963) version, not the crap remake). So, it passed the time.... 5/10

And one as Patrick.... That was a cracking day though and as a consequence of this I have a soft spot for Southend. Similar thing happened when we played Stockport in a cup game at The Dell; all the Stockport fans stood up and started singing "STAND UP IF YOU HATE MAN U....etc." We all joined in and we were best mates after that. Good job 'cos they beat us on the night....
