Opposition fans let out at the same time as home supporters....
Redbul replied to Redbul's topic in The Saints
I didn't say I believed him but the explanation did have a modicum of credibility about it but with glaring (to me) inconsistencies, hence why I posted the thread in the first place. -

Yep, RIP Norman. Often imitated, never bettered.

I was questioning the logic of this with a mate of mine who's a steward. He told me that everyone gets let out at the same time because if the away fans were kept in this would be a violation of their human rights. Whilst I can understand this to a certain degree, surely there must be a risk assessment done before each match that takes into account any police intelligence that has been gathered about the fixture and the potential of possible clashes and in which the health and safety of both sets of fans are taken into account. If there is the likelihood of something kicking off (other than the football match of course....) then isn't that reason enough to 'delay the departure' of the away fans? Discuss. One for DSM perhaps?

Yes, but if it was that clear cut, they'd have sat with him up the hospital and taken him back to the nick the same night/morning, charged him and remanded him to appear before magistrates the next day. It's only police bail. When I say only....he'll still get arrested if he's in breach of it.

Come on ed molinari!!!! That should have been in caps to indicate a degree of excitment....

Calm down, calm down....Innocent until proven guilty.... He's been bailed suggesting that more evidnece needs to be gathered so it's not clear cut. If he hit someone with a bottle then he had this to hand and could claim self defence; if he glassed someone that's a different case all together, that suggests a degree of premeditation and the consequences would be much more serious. Anyway, he's bailed to return on Wednesday....until then....

I'm sooo sorry and I feel terrible about this, but actually giggled at this; not because of your dislike of polystyrene but the mental image of you trying to unpack speakers with your forearms.....!!!! Now off to hang my head in shame. This is massive handicap, I was agoraphobic for a while. It wasn't crowds or anything like that, but I needed to know that I had a bolt hole or an escape route out of any situation. Hope you're over it now.

I would add an 'allegedly' to this post a bit sharpish if I were you....

Cold Caller by Jason Starr Wonderful piece of pulp fiction. The story revolves around a once ambitious and rising ad man in New York who loses the ad job and ends up cold calling for a telemarketing firm around Times Square while he tries to get his life back on track. A scuffle on the Metro means he's late for work for the third time that month which results in him getting sent home. Thus begin a series of minor events that culminate in him killing his boss and his life begins spiralling out of control but towards a completely unexpected denouement. 7/10 for pace and unputdownableness. WAHEY!!!! A new word!!!!

So Ed Millerband has won the Labour leadership contest, with best wishes from his brother David Millerband. As yet there's no word from the third brother, Glenn.

Used to work a bit down the old Top Rank ice rink and sometimes used to train with the Vikings. Went to Streatham once to see us play the Redskins and since the So'ton ice rink folded have occasionally kept tabs on Streatham. Was up in Streatham buying a motor a month or so ago and drove past the old Streatham ice rink, that brought back some memories!

Yes, I was told about the V flicking by a steward, nothing else, and I had no reason to disbelieve him after seeing the other gesture; re read my post. And your first sentence smacks of so much hypocrisy it's laughable; 'probably some lacky on work experience'? Why, if that was the case, would that make his testimony any less believable than if it was somebody with years and years of experience? In this case the steward I spoke to was of the latter type. So, I do have knowledge, did see something, so I would argue that my POV is far form crap but pretty credible. I take it you were in the away end and must have seen what was going on with the aid of binoculars? Now shut up and go to bed.

No pleasing some people!! Penalties came from pressure from us. We out played them in every department. The only way they could contain and handle Barnard was by fouling him. Well played Saints....more of that and we'll be singing "We've got more points than you" to the Bompey ****s in the away fixture!!!

If the silly tw*t hadn't been such an unprofessional gobsh*te over the Eddie Who (sorry, Howe) debacle and who paid his bar bills on time he'd have been lording it up with the Southampton board instead of slumming it in an exec. box behind our home fans. If he then chooses to make 'going down' gestures and flicking the Vs (so a steward told me) then he deserves to get verbal back. He should have known he'd have got this reaction so he's just as irresponsible for goading us in front of young children. And no, we don't care about you lot; anyone from away support who chooses to try and mix it in a home end would get the same treatment....what's the matter? Never been to a football match before?
