Carol Vorderman has turned 50 I reckon she's filthy in the sack

Rather than back Saints at 5/1 to get promoted, I'd back them each-way at 16/1 for the title These are 1/4 odds 1st, 2nd, 3rd, meaning we are 4/1 to finish in the top 3 If we finish 2nd you'd have made a bit of money, and have had a good run for your 16/1. Missing out on 1 point for getting promoted won't seem such a big deal If we finish 3rd and the bookies have paid you 4/1 for such an achievement, that 5/1 pre-season for promotion looks a terrible price, because that would make us 1/4 favourites to win the play-offs. Most favourites are 2/1 or 9/4 Ok, so we could finish 4th,5th,6th and win the play-offs, but you'd probably get 3/1 in such circumstances at the time anyway, so once again 5/1 looks a rubbish price

Interesting to see how Bart reacts to that news

I notice Bet365 have us priced at 16/1 to win the league, and 16/1 to be relegated This backs up the OP, anything could happen this season
-
Apart from Peterborough, the bottom 6 are all absolutely skint, so no surprises with those predictions However, Birmingham's situation changes that picture somewhat I also think we have stronger squads than Ipswich and Burnley, so perhaps a play-off place isn't beyond us

"Adkins is the best manager we have had since Strachan"

I'm surprised there isn't a larger defence here for Pardew. I liked AP, I thought he was excellent for us He had no pre-season and inherited a squad of players that was either old, slow, crap,or low on confidence He persuaded Kelvin to ditch West Ham, as the future here was bright. He turned Lallana and Schneiderlin from a underperforming weeds into arguably our best players. He brought Lambert, Barnard, Connolly, Fonte, Harding, Jaidi, Hammond to Saints, he also noticed a very useful winger at Reading in Antonio that he secured on loan He got the best out of a very unpredictable Papa Waigo, and also decided Chamberlain was ready at 17 for 1st team action He even got the best out of Puncheon Considering we started the season with -10 points with a terrible team and a depressed fanbase, to end that season with a good team, a Wembley win and 7th place (a play-off spot if we had our 10 points back) - He was currently better IMO -
It's her funeral today Elton John will be performing 'Candle Under the Spoon'

How come a registered user can start threads? I thought that was what full members paid £5 for

Do moustaches count? If so, my vote goes to Keith Cassells

1985 Great Yarmouth - The Hairy Monster DLT Snogged a girl on holiday from Wolverhampton, went to touch her tits and she gave me a slap! Never saw her again. What a tease

I have no idea if this BS or not. However, we've seen with Cortese that the bigger picture is important. If a PL club offered £5M for Lambert, a £4M profit on a 29 year-old who's never played at this level would be great business.

Fonte reminds AOC at the amazing progress Theo Walcott made under Arsene Wenger
-
I think Benik Afobe from Arsenal would be a great loan signing He's very highly rated and done really well on loan for Huddersfield last year (8 goals + 10 assists) Wenger would want him to develop in a higher league this season, so he could be a good target Unfortunately, Wenger would probably stop us from signing him unless AOC signed for Arsenal
-
We haven't entered the loan market yet, so there may be a gem or two still to come There were many rumours last year that Aston Villa's Andreas Weimann was coming, apparantely NA is a big fan. However, he ended up going to Watford instead, but now we've been promoted there's a chance some PL players would be more likely to join us

Is this the same Matty Taylor who kept celebrating Pompey's goals directly at Saints fans? Taylor can do what he does best & shove it up his arse
-
I think Alex is being badly advised by his Dad Mark knows how football works, and never had a loyal bone when he was a youngster I remember him making his name at Port Vale, before jumping to their bitter rivals Stoke
-
A signing from Switzerland? I wonder if this is another Cortese buy, rather than the manager?
-
It just shows how Cortese won't take any shiite from anyone I think he had no choice really, what's he supposed to do? - just let our young players carry on courting PL clubs with no punishment?

Does anyone remember a 1980's song by Black "Wonderful Life"?

Terrible picture of Fonte, it looks like he's on crack

I think we're getting too precious here They implied we've been owned by a dead man for over a year, and the program was about the lack of transparency in football with regards to ownership It was a fair question to ask about Saints, because many posters have been asking the same question for months on this site.... Who owns us exactly? Where is the money coming from, if at all? I don't think C4 done anything wrong at all
-
I thought the program was quite interesting actually As already mentioned, I'd be quite worried if I was a Leicester supporter. These owners have 1 goal only, and that's to get to the PL ASAP, followed by selling the club on I wonder how much money has been put into Leicester to cover all these signings and wages? If they don't go up, I wouldn't be surprised if they were in administration within 18 months

James Beattie was at Southampton airport this morning....

I have no idea if it was just rumours, but BT and Jason Dodd were considered to be the players that got Sturrock the sack. I wouldn't want him back, I have great memories of BT at his best Clearly, he wouldn't re-create those days and how often do players return to clubs and be equally as successful as before? -
I notice Duncan has already added it to his favourites, I'm sure historians could possibly even pinpoint the date of Blackburn's match I imagine that travelling from Blackburn to Southampton in the late 1940's was quite a journey too

I saw it, made me lol I suppose it's Baj & Steve's site,so they can do what they like with it, but for us oldies who remember the good old days of S4E, the humour has totally disappeared from this site
