Saudi Arabian Sam Hashimi launched a bid to buy Sheffield United He failed, and then decided to become a woman After a number of years of being Samantha Kane, he became a man again As Charles Kane he's now getting married He's still a keen follower of Sheffield United
-
L1 is probably his standard now If he's spending more time down here again due to family commitments, I'd be surprised if Bournemouth didn't enquire He'd be perfect for them, as long as his wage demands were realistic
-
Best wishes to Dan, that's terrible news You would suggest a head injury of that magnitude will stop him from heading a ball for quite a while, so could be career threatening if not life threatening
-
I watched him play for Blackpool at Fulham last season, and he was terrible I think we had the best years of BT, but he's completely past it now - awful first touch, really slow etc etc I hear what FF is saying when he makes a slight comparison between BT and Lambert, but IMO Lambert is different class

Scott Dann for £5m. Break The Bank Time
Huntingdon replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
I agree. We don't have the backing of Markus anymore. As you say, NC has made it clear we will be a properly run business. So, just how much do we have to spend from the sale of Chamberlain? I suspect it's nowhere near the £12M that 'View From The Top' is assuming -
Scott Dann for £5m. Break The Bank Time
Huntingdon replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
I get nervous when posters say 'Let's break the bank' Yes, I want to get back to the PL, but I also never want to see us bottom of L1 with -10 points again I realise we have money, but I just hate the expression used -
I think what Adkins has shown, and what Paul Lambert has shown, is team spirit can take you far There's nothing worse than having a bad apple who wants to be the main man - Puncheon is a prime example, and if you ask Leeds & Everton fans about Beckford, he's very similar to Punch

Butterfield is a cult figure at Palace On the face of it, we don't need another RB, but Butterfield is clearly behind Richardson in NA's eyes, so I'm wondering if it's money + Butters for Clyne?
-
I felt kind of sorry for him today, he looked like a little boy who had lost his mummy I think he would have been better off spending another season under the guidance of Nigel Adkins I'm not saying that with my Saints hat on, I actually believe it
-
I think the memories of Niemi are tainted by his appalling display at Fratton, then to actually join them at the end of his career. Davis has been loyal and consistent over the past 3 seasons, but never played for us in the top flight, so he's a NO Flowers was a good goalkeeper, but lacked confidence sometimes with our back 4, he looked much more assured at Blackburn I heard some great stories of Peter Shilton's love of betting shops. I think we kept him 1 season too long, he was starting to lose his legs. I have sad memories of Shilton, seeing him in the 1990 World Cup when he was so old he couldn't lift his feet off the ground anymore - 10 years earlier he would have saved Brehme's deflection and his efforts in the penalty shoot out were embarrassing I vote for Shilts, but only just because Ivan Katalinic was my favourite

I like Warnock a lot. His reputation for being unlikeable overshadows his achievements as a manager, because his record for getting teams promoted is amazing. I also like his interviews, he's honest, too honest at times, but I prefer people to be that way than cloak & dagger like Wenger To suggest Cortese messed around too much is almost certainly true. I suspect Jemal would say the same thing
-
We are starting to sound a bit desperate now I think NC & NA are possibly regretting not tying up the deals for Jemal and Gorkss
-
We have no idea what actually went on between Punch and Nigel, so their differences might be impossible to solve In saying that though, Puncheon turned out today for the virtual Reserves, he also put in a decent shift at Totton a few weeks back, so he's showing a decent attitude If he was being an absolute tosser, he'd refuse to play in them
-
I like it, it's a good idea and a nice read I'd be interested in a blogger doing a 'Where are they now' of Saints academy players too. Some of them just disappear, which is a shame because being a keen watcher of our Youth Team, I'd like to know what's happened to them
-
I know somebody who knows Micheal Owen Apparentely, he has too rub ointment into his buttocks every night because of all the splinters
-
The Leicester fans have been quite critical of this guy, it sounds like they'd be happy to see him leave Do you think Sven would sell a player to their main rivals if he was any good?
-
What I love about NA, is that he wants to play expansive, exhilarating football, but realistically knows you can't do that every single week. Sometimes, you have to grind out results, get your noses in front and just defend the lead. He brought Fox on for Lallana to nullify their threat down our left, and brought De Ridder's pace on to expose them on the break NA doesn't just live and die by the sword, he's always looking for the best options for getting a win I honestly believe that in 5 years time, Saints fans will talk of Nigel Adkins in the same breath as Lawrie Mac

Ipswich FC is situated in the roughest part of the town, which obviously doesn't help In fact, it's common knowledge that Portman Road is the centre of Ipswich's red light area, or at least it was before the murders
-
Did anyone not watch Everton's match at Wolves last season? It was on Sky, Beckford slated Moyes for substituting him, and maintained his anger whilst in the dugout He looked an absolute Grade A tosser There's no room for people like that under NA, as we've seen with Puncheon
-
I feel sorry for Calum Davenport Yes, I know he had limitations, but for his professional career to be virtually ended by a crazed boyfriend of his sister, is terribly unfortunate
-
For most posters, their 2 major summer CB targets were Matt Mills & Sean St Ledger According to the Leicester forums, they've both been terrible so far, absolutely appalling I think I'd rather just leave it to NC & NA to sort out!
-
I couldn't give a monkeys what Theo has to say. He left at the first available opportunity, that's all I remember him for If we get into the PL this year, it will be interesting to see what sort of reactions Theo & Oxo get, and whether they will get contrasting reactions
-
I beleive anything is possible with NA in charge He's clearly a great coach, but he's also not an old fashioned English manager, he's an intellect who believes strongly in Sport Science and Psychology The players believe in themselves, they believe in the manager, and they believe in their teammates This has always been a key ingredient of his success. Just look at S****horpe - it has a population of 72k, that's less than Basingstoke ffs! Yet, he took them from the butt of footballing jokes into the NPC (twice) This guy is a serious class act, I'm astonished there are posters on here who are still unconvinced
-
I liked him. I remember our game at SMS in the league, Antonio came off the bench when we were 1-0 down and he transformed the match This time last year we had threads saying we should sign him for £500k
-
I'm embarrassed to think other supporters will read ridiculous threads like this! It makes us sound so arrogant & up our own backsides.
