I was on Jewitt's coach also, I do remember Pete Wilson's detour. I went into a bar with Glenn Baker and Colin Taylor before the game. Walking to the Shed before the game I remember seeing faces I hadn't seen for years! By the time we got in, we could just fit against the wall at the back, The Shed was so crowded. The sound and atmosphere was electric, most of us were too young to have seen the 1963 semi-final, so this was our biggest game up to then. I think everyone was surprised that we had got to the semi's, especially after the Bradford match. Being allocated the Shed was a massive help, it was like the complete Dell being dropped into one end. The atmosphere was better than the Cup Final, and the relief of winning, I remember being on a high for days. It was the biggest thing to have happened to us, that we knew, we would be going to Wembley to play Man U in the final! I remember the buzz on the coach going back, I think they dropped us off at The Painted Waggon. Then we started to celebrate.

I took the photos from the chocolate boxes, I sent some to the Spurs site a few years ago after finding the site. I rediscovered the negatives about 8 years ago, there were also a few from the Orient game that was on Tuesday before, and the last frame on the roll was of Clint Hodder rolling a spliff after we were promoted,

What was fan violence like in the 80s at the dell?

Dave Parsons, I recall the day of the F.A.Cup final, in the morning I went down to the Painted Wagon where the coaches were leaving from. I saw some girls who I recognized, so I asked them what they were waiting for, they said they had tickets for Dave Parsons coach! Five pounds for the bus ride and a Cup Final ticket. I quickly found another coach, I think they were still waiting when arrived back at 7:30! I remember there being something in the Echo about it, never saw him again after that. -
L.A. 1980, Saints played the Mexican National team, I was living in Mexico just south of the border at the time, I thought it would be Keegan's first game. It wasn't, interesting atmosphere, and we only lost 1-0!

Any old farts recognize themselves?

What a fun day that was! They all were that season, every away game was the same, Luton, Orient. I bet a lot of people will recognize the pitch invaders, the walk back to station was a laugh, as you can see that was before casuals brought some fashion sense to football, all those sheepskin coats, mind you it was F@cking freezing that day! I have been in the States for the past 26 years, is the Warrens still around? We are all in our 50's! -
Hugh Fisher!

The Gabriel goal was from the 1972 F.A. Cup match at the dell, 1-1. Saints lost the replay 4-1.

Awful designs for the shirt and emblem, rely to much on the past. Why not go totally futuristic, forget about past shirt designs and design something for the future!

It was quite surreal, after years of never coming close to winning anything, we actually won something, and WE were there! And then things returned to normal, and we haven't won anything since, so all those who didn't get that one in a million day, you may have something to look foreword to. It's a feeling that's indescribable, only the next day that it really sinks in. I don't think many of us really thought we would win, and that's what made it even better. And then it all happened again on the Monday for Channon's testimonial, I have only been to a handful of games since. Maybe if England win the World Cup will it match that high.

Is a special commemorative medal being made for those that did go? I feel like I missed out on something very special, my life is not complete anymore. I did listen to the match on the radio, so can I be accepted into your special "Band of Brothers" as a water carrier?

Yes, and last!

Is that a profile of Duncan Holley?
