  1. Two more prime examples that the clubs transfer policy is to sign young players more as a investment rather than as an immediate strengthening of the squad . The strategic plan is to identify cheap underrated young players whom someone at the club (not Jan Poortvliet IMO) believes can be improved over time into becoming profitable assets to keep SFC/SLH solvent in the medium term . In the short term these may not be the type of players we need right now but this medium term planning does suggests to me we may not be as near to Administration as I've previously understood and that quite possibly the Board believe we can continue to trade even after possible/probable relegation this season . Time (& more importantly our creditors) will tell if they're right or not .
  2. Awful situation for the family of the man who lost his life and pretty terrible for Jordan Robertson as well . Honest drivers on here might care to remember some of the stupid things we all did when we were young and reflect 'there but for the grace of God go I' .
  3. Tijuana Tim may well have a good point about tapping this source of potentially good (& cheap) players - unfortunately I guess we just haven't got the resources to go and watch overseas players anymore . Indeed our international scouting network seems to be reduced to whoever Georges Prost happens to recommend .
  4. I've seen the exact opposite to this argument put forward here on numerous occasions - kick towards the Northam in the second half to encourage the team blah blah blah . But you can't have it both ways can you ? - or maybe you could if the fans were to swap ends at half time as well as the players . It remains my opinion that it doesn't make the slightest difference .
  5. An unlimited supply of Jermaine Wright action figures to arrive at Arizona's house daily 12 whole months without any idiot van drivers denting my poor old Nissan Primera The BBC to commission a second series of 'Survivors' immediately Nathan Dyer to become lost forever in the Bermuda Triangle on his way back from Sheffield Rupert Lowe & Micheal Wilde to accidentally step out in front of Leon Crouch's speeding Bentley one dark night Brian Blessed to be made permanent host on 'Have I got news for you' Giant wind turbines in Havent to blow the 'Pompey Stink' away from decent people The Saints to win a football match at St Marys My 2 year-old Godson to behave himself occasionally (will never happen) The boss of the firm I work for to accept that if you pay peanuts you end up with monkeys The second coming of Nigel Pearson [-o
  6. Well your memory needs a service then because there were plenty on here convinced we'd make the play-offs or at the very least finish comfortably mid table . My (extremely) low expectations for this season are a matter of record but if you'd told be after the glorious Sheffield Utd win last May I'd only see one more Saints victory at SMS during 2008 I would not have believed you .
  7. Not only would we lose (in all probability) - but we'd deserve to lose after the way Rupert Lowe and his sidekick treated Nigel Pearson .
  8. Whatever you want to call the formation the principle point is today we had 2 strikers (DMG & Patterson) working fairly close together as a unit - thus posing the opposition defence a few problems at last . I call this a 'front two' and we looked much the better team or it IMO .
  9. Brave effort today from a very young team who may have just about deserved all 3 points on merit . But "deserving's got nothing to do with it" if I may quote my favorite movie and home draws are very little use to us in our current position I'm afraid .
  10. In normal circumstances a fan should do all they can to support their club , but these are not normal circumstances and to be frank it doesn't even feel like it's our club anymore . When Rupert's gone we can all unite behind 'The New Saints' and start again - but until that happy day no Saints fan should feel the least sense of guilt for refusing to put anymore hard earned money into Rupert Lowe's pockets .
  11. I've been equally confused by similar comments directed at myself . The brutal truth is that although we did play some attractive pass and move stuff preseason and in early league games that's all history now . The league tables proves beyond argument just how poor a team we now are - not only are we playing an unbalanced team with far too many inexperienced youngsters but we're also labouring under an failing coach who appears to be 'unsackable' (regardless of a calamitous run of poor results) and a Chairman who treats the club as his personal plaything . I've said it before and will say it again - this will end badly .

  13. It's getting to the stage where direct action can be justified IMO . The club already have ST holders money for this season so Rupert probably couldn't care less whether we actually turn up or not - but a organised mass boycott of ST renewals for the 09/10 season would definitely force the bank/SLH Shareholders into taking some notice of Saints fans opinions . Without us afterall there is no club .

  15. What is the lowest ever points total in the CCC , could we challenge for the record ?

  17. Would that be a closing down sale ?
  18. OMG ! Smith - Gobern - Lancashire Does the FA allow a 'Surrender before kickoff' agreement ?
  19. I suppose this statement is some kind of progress , a few weeks ago JP was telling us we had no relegation worries and the team were on the verge of dishing out a few thrashings to unwary opponents . Perhaps the penny's dropped at last and our esteemed head coach has glimpsed the true scale of the task in front of him .
  20. One of the worst players to play for SFC in recent years - and there's been some pretty stiff competition .
  21. In more decent times a chap would leave Rupert a loaded revolver and mention something about the 'honour of the Regiment' and 'You know what you must do' but I don't think he's the type .
  22. I wasn't at the game (flu not a protest) but clearly we had to win it to retain any real belief that we're going to avoid the drop this season , personally I'm at the 'All hope abandoned' stage now . It seems to me we'll have to hit rock-bottom before we can start to recover and if that means Administration and relegation then so be it . Almost any price is worth paying to now rid this club of Lowe , Wilde and the Dutch duffers .
  23. Thanks long Shot . So basically Micheal Wilde's bruised ego and Leon Crouch's lack of political skills may well end up destroying this grand old club - and all because two grown men can't put their differences behind them for the good of the club - or even their own best interests . :smt102
  24. An unnecessarily aggressive response to a perfectly reasonable post . You seem to be under the impression that it's a fans duty to blindly go along with every action or decision the Directors and management of SFC decide to inflict on our grand old club and that any criticism or concerns raised on here are tantamount to a betrayal that can not be tolerated  I know nothing about your private life but if you're a parent I would hope you've learned that sometimes to truly support your child you have to be honest and tell them when they're going wrong . If you truely love this club then 'going with the flow' simply isn't good enough and turning a blind eye to to everything that's going wrong at the moment isn't supporting it - it's failing it . As for 'what did you do in the war grandad' please don't tell me you really believe anything posted on here makes the slightest difference in the real world do you ?
  25. Can someone please enlighten me as to the root cause of this disastrous Wilde/Crouch feud ?
