Sunderland would be clinically insane to sell him for anything less than £10m or £12m and even then relegation is a lot more costly than that so I'd keep him if I were them . Ultimately he will probably play for a bigger club a some stage IMO as his ability demands it . Although Kenwyne's goal tally is maybe a tad disappointing remember he suffered a serious injury on International Duty last summer and has only recently fully recovered . Quick , strong and so good in the air I'm surprised the RAF hasn't put in a bid he's really got the lot . Often compared to Drogba I think a young Emile Heskey might be a better comparison , in a perfect world I wish we could have kept him longer .

http://www.uefa.com/footballeurope/news/kind=2/newsid=792221.html A smashing little player and a Saints legend I'd say , if only we had strikers of this calibre now .

the things the fans have said over the years

"Stern John is your typical journeyman striker who will add nothing to the team" Chapel End Charlie - before the start of the 2007/8 season . -
We were not the only club interested in 'one size' apparently : http://www.goal.com/en/news/1686/eredivisie/2009/01/11/1055704/ado-chasing-feyenoords-derijck

I suspect many of us (myself included) would have liked Richard Wright to sign for the club last summer but in truth it's hard to imagine him doing much better than Kelvin , indeed the fact we're not miles adrift at the bottom of the table is very largely down to KD's outstanding efforts this season . By all accounts he likes it here and I for one would be happy to see him get a new contract and maybe even finish his playing career at SFC - he may well have to accept a pay cut though .

Doncaster_ Most important game of season?
CHAPEL END CHARLIE replied to thorpie the sinner's topic in The Saints
The trouble with this 'massive game' reasoning is that it means as much to the opposition as it does to us . You can bet your bottom dollar that Doncaster will come to SMS absolutely determined to get something from the game - and given our home form this season you'd be a fool to bet against them getting something . Saints 0 Doncaster 0 -
DMG will score as many if not more goals than Saganowski from now until the end of this season given equal opportunity IMO .

Cork's certainly a promising young player but hardly the junior Bobby Moore some on here believe , no one's irreplaceable - unless your names Matt LeTissier that is .

Well done Saints ! , a victory as welcome as it is unexpected .

With the money footballers get I'd expect he shops at Waitrose .

I view this as proof positive that an inverse relationship exists between the distance from St Marys and the sanity of the Saintsweb member concerned .

August 2009 - The aftermath of relegation and administration
CHAPEL END CHARLIE replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
I used to think relegation would entail automatic Administration but I'm not quite so sure now . The income drop from the CCC to L1 seems relatively minor compared to the drastic financial implications relegation from the Premier League brings , couple that with indications that the club seems to be planning for some kind of medium term future (signing players and adding to the coaching staff etc) and it may well mean Rupert Lowe believes he's identified a way to keep SFC in existence even after likely relegation this season - doubtless involving another round of drastic cost-cutting next summer . It remains to be seen if Lowe is right or not in this and the ultimate decision lies with our creditors rather than the SLH Board . Much will depend on the upcoming level of season ticket renewals . Looking at the calibre of the head coach and to be frank some of the players employed in the 1st team and you might almost say we've been preparing for League One all season . -
Well people have been asking for ages where did all the Walcott/Bale/Jones money go so I guess we now have the answer - we spent most of it on Jason Mule  . This club has been so horribly mismanaged in recent years if you didn't know any better you'd think Peter Ridsdale was running it .
-
Agreed .

I based my post on this players not very special scoring record over the last 2 seasons at both SFC and Aalborg BK , based on this hard evidence I'd urge caution before we start to "thank fook" Saganowski is back to rescue us like the 7th Cavalry in an old cowboy film . It goes without saying all Saints fans wish Saga well and hope he can recapture the form he so briefly displayed when he first arrived at the club on loan - I'm just trying to inject a note of realism here .
-
I welcome Saganowski back as we need all the help we can get but I see no evidence to suggest he's going to be a prolific goalscorer for us again - far from it .

what is lowe getting out of being here?
CHAPEL END CHARLIE replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
I understand there is good research evidence to back this up this rather disturbing statement . I don't believe Rupert Lowe is here for the money , it's my opinion he psychologically needs the kudos/attention being Chairman of a large football club (or his brief attempt at a political career ) brings him . We're dealing with a extremely inflated ego here that must constantly prove to the world in the most public way possible just how infallible he is (ref nothing that ever goes wrong at SFC is ever RL's fault) . IMO he will never sell or voluntarily walk away from SFC under any circumstances whatsoever - it will have to be another 'kicking and screaming' job by the larger shareholders . -
Standing 'on' the Northam Stand would clearly be a serious breach of Health & Safety regulations - you may fall off the roof . Standing 'in' the Northam is an entirely different matter though . It's hardly surprising the stewards were afraid to upset the MUFC away fans , they were just following the example of the referee who clearly was afraid of upsetting Sir Alex by giving the Saints any of the 50-50 decisions.

Rudi: Too many youngsters playing and I want away
CHAPEL END CHARLIE replied to Big Ron fan's topic in The Saints
This player had the opportunity to leave last summer when the writing was very much on the wall for his future here and he turned the chance down because no one was prepared to match the wages he's on at SFC - now he wants out after his transfer value has shrunk to next-to-nothing and we've been paying him £8k a week for very little return . An object lesson in the perils of financially fragile football clubs giving players long 'big money' contracts which they can't really afford . -
Michael Wilde has been a disaster for this club , he's kinda like a negative version of King Midas - everything he touches turns into sh*t . Noticeable by his absence at the AGM this rumour might just have something behind it - lets hope so .
-
I quite agree , an ill-advised gamble with the clubs all too limited finances . To put it into perspective however if we list of all the grievous errors made by the current Board this probably ranks as a fairly minor entry .
-
We signed Nathan Dyer not because we truly wanted him but because someone fancied a punt that we could transfer him for a profit at some stage - all/most of the clubs recent signings are based on this principle . In this instance I personally can't see this player ever being worth more than c £250k so it's unlikely we'll ever make any real money on him .
-
Not the kind of thing that can ever be proved one way or the other but I suspect this to be true .
-
It's the law of the land and the club have no choice but to enforce it , but why the stewards decided to evict a fan rather than simply ask him to put the cigarette out is an entirely different question . A sign of the (intolerant) times I suppose .
