NEWSFLASH................. Anthony Pulis's agent arrives at St Marys , claims Saints are on to a 'nice little earner' .
-
I mentioned Patterson based on having witnessed him play at Bournemouth last Saturday , anyone who saw his goal will confirm this lad shows promise . Personally I'd have him in the team rather than yet another disappointing string of BWP non performances . All just my opinion of course . I agree with you we do need more established players as our main strike-force this coming season .
-
Patterson may well be at least as good if not better than BWP already I'd say . BWP could be an moderatly effective substitute striker on his day - but those days were few and far between to be honest . On the whole I'm glad to see the back of him .

After such a splendid week off the field it was only to be expected the team would bring us right back to earth I suppose and that's exactly what they did . We were gash today and it must be said some of the more senior players involved were putting in particularly lacklustre performances . A few observations : Rasiak - Only there in theory - little discernible impact on the game . Bialkowski - A proper 'flapper' if ever I've seen one , thank Christ we have Kelvin . Lancashire - Is he starting to show some improvement ? - a definite maybe is the answer for now . 'Fish' Mills - looking rusty - not fully recovered from injury I suspect. Our number 11 in the right midfield position (who's name escapes me ) looked lively. Lovely goal from Patterson , he could go far Bmth fans - The vile pikey minority behind the goal seem to hate us with a passion I'm pretty sure we don't really deserve - pathetic . I've seen enough poor preseason games in my time to know not to read too much into it but a good manager and a few decent L1 quality players are required - ASAP I'd say .

Statement from Mr Rupert Lowe MBE . I would like to take this opportunity to wish Southampton Football Club and Herr Liebherr all the best of British luck for the future and I stand ready to offer them the benefit of my considerable experience with any help or advice that they may require in the difficult tasks ahead . In response to the entirely unfair criticism I've received from a small but vocal minority of so called 'fans' on the Internet I'd like to point out that but for the completely successful and revolutionary new coaching set up I put in place last season SFC would not be the happy , wealthy and unified club it is this morning . I'm aware that in spite of my acknowledge brilliance and unmatched level of footballing wisdom not everything went completely smoothly during my all too brief stewardship of the club . Having had time to reflect on this I'm regrettably forced to conclude that everything that went wrong was a direct result of Leon Crouch's actions and no fault of mine . In conclusion I'm looking forward to receiving my new season ticket and supporting the team next season from the Northam Stand , where my many friends in the Southampton area can thank me personally for my outstanding contribution to SFC's success . COYR !! (ps - can I have the train painting back ?)

Never a dull moment at this club is there ! Mark Wotte had a decent chance to show what he could do when he took over from Poortvliet and to be brutally honest there was not much evidence the team were responding to him . Mr Liebherr said yesterday he was going to put place in a top class management structure at the club and it looks like he's a man of his word . I'd expect an announcement regarding our next manager within the next few days as someone is in all probability already lined up - If I was a betting man I've have a few quid on us getting an established foreign manager with a solid record of success behind him . The message is perfectly clear , shape up or ship out .
-
It's unfortunate that this Oldknow chap seems to 'rub people up the wrong way' and we can only hope his people skills have improved over time as I believe getting the staff onside (BWP excepted obviously ) is helpful to the smooth running of any organisation . Ultimately being good at his job is the most important thing however - popular or not .
-
Oh I think your Chairman's position has got everything to do with daddy's blood money , as for debating the morality of the world arm trade in general I fear we're straying a tad too far from the comparison of SFC & PFC's respective owners on a football forum there !
-
How about the fans who've stuck by this club through thick and thin (mostly thin) and have put up with more than their fair share of misery and disappointment over the last 4 years I'd say - remember without us there is no club .
-
Interesting contrast isn't it - SFC now owned by a man of unimpeachable credentials and reputation compared to PFC's position built on the back Russian arms dealing to poor 3rd world countries . A brief glance at any Ordnance Survey map will clearly show exactly where the moral high ground in Hampshire lies doesn't it ?

Smashing news!!!! and (semi) offical as well

Saved up me cash for a season ticket - spent it all on a Volvo estate :smt102- will have find the money again somehow . Damn those Swiss swine !!!!! -
The stadium (& other) debt has been draging this club down for years and it's a massive relief to be rid of it - let's hope we never fall into that trap again .
-
It'll still be Flybe this coming season surely ?

I think we may allow ourselves a brief WOOT before we resume our customary moaning
