I think the way the BBC are scheduling their League coverage is appalling - for many of us 'early risers' the programme starts wayyyyy too late at night - I know many viewers have the equipment to record it or watch on-line but to be frank I can't be bothered . Personally I preferred ITV's Sunday AM programme .

I only saw the edited 'highlights' on MOTD2 , to my mind these made PFC seem mildly threatening on occasion but if having seen the entire game you can say this is a false picture than I bow to your superior knowledge . Still too early to write them off completely I'd say but here's hoping anyway

From personal experience I can assure you it's almost impossible to get even 12 people to agree on any contentious issue , so it would be very odd if nobody among maybe 30,000 Saints fans wanted AP out wouldn't it ? A better question is - 'What is the conscious of opinion among Saintsweb members ? Reading this thread the answer seems pretty obvious .

If expressing frustration at (perceived) poor refereeing decisions is a fault in a manager I can only say than Alan Pardew is in pretty good company . From Alex Fergusion and Arsene Wenger right the way on down to pub team level this reaction is almost universal in the game , almost 'Standard Practice' you might say . Hence I can't agree this is a valid criticism of our manager , indeed transferring blame from players onto officials (justified or not) could be seen as performing a useful function in maintaining team moral and building confidence - is this not one of the primary roles of any manager ? It is in the nature of things that referees will make mistakes - and equally that managers will complain when they do . Football always has been like this and always will be .
-
Actually all things considered I thought PFC did pretty well against an obviously better funded and much superior Man City , we may well be a tad premature in writing them off . It's not how you start but how you finish that counts - a notion that could equally apply at this end of the M27 .

Polish article regarding Saganowski possibly being loaned out to the CCC even after the deadline - please excuse the clumsy translation . http://www.eurosport.pl/pilka-nozna/transfers/2009/sagan-w-championship_sto2046856/story.shtml Saganowski is in Southampton ... for the time being? Marek Saganowski is still not sure of his future. Should remain in Southampton, But perhaps the beginning of September but the club will change. - There is a chance for the championship team - says Arthur eurosport.pl Murawski, the transfer agency of the Pole. The British Isles is possible to change the team after the closure of the transfer window. Player can find a new club on loan. - For now, Mark is a Southampton player and provides a ride to the next league match. The closure of the transfer window was only Monday and hard to expect that the last day he managed to find a new club - said Arthur Murawski, which deals with the transfer of the Pole. - There is a possibility that in September Saganowski be loaned to one of the club championship - adds Football Manager Kolakowski Management Agency.

Top 2 was never really 'on' in any sense other than that of a improbable mathematical possibility , even a play off place was always unlikely and would have required the good start to the season we've obviously not achieved . So now we're looking at mid table at best or relegation at worst - I reckon there are enough weak teams in this division to mean we can/should avoid the worst if we improve even modestly , but I'm not as confident in saying that as I was 4 weeks ago - who is ? Tempus omnia revelat - time will reveal all .

The long slippery slope started here if you ask me : http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/reports/reports0405/780258.SAINTS_2___MIDDLESBROUGH_2/ About 100 players , 8 managers , 4 boards and a completely new owner later absolutely nothing has changed .

I've never read Schopenhauer but Wagner does indeed encourage a chap to invade Poland for some reason .

Theo Walcott was already a force to be reckoned with (in the CCC at least) before he left SFC - 3 years later under Arsene Wenger's tutelage he's still yet to feature in the EPL on a regular starting basis . I draw two possible conclusions from this : A - Theo's not as good as virtually the entire English game thought he was or... B - He's at the wrong club . I'm going with option B . Any young player eventually arrives at a stage in their development when reserve team football or a brief substitute appearance just won't benefit him anymore , to be frank TW reached that point years ago . With hindsight Walcott would have been better advised to have stayed at SFC a little longer or if the lure of the Prem was too strong a good club such as Everton for instance would have been a better move for him . Still only 20 the best years of his football life are obviously still ahead of him and as he recently signed a 4 year contract extension clearly he's happy with life at Arsenal . Were I talented/fortunate enough to be in his position I'm not so sure I would be .

Newsflash......... Saints technicians already have Rasiak replacement ready for action........
-
He's gone now so there's really not much point in arguing about it anymore , personally I don't think we'll miss him and £15k a week was a stupid amount of money to pay any player in L1. This is a good piece of business - for us .

Schneiderlin wants to Leave / Rasiak
CHAPEL END CHARLIE replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
I feel an enormous wave of apathy sweeping over me , Morgan Schneiderlin is a player fundamentaly unsuited the rough and tumble of lower league British football if you ask me . (we didn't ! I hear you say) -
Unfavorably comparing the goals to games ratio of a striker (Rasiak) against a wide midfielder/sometimes striker (Smith) might be seen as not being entirely fair . If Rasiak is as good as some on here claim why wasn't he voted the second best player in the whole of the CCC last season and not Smith ? Statistics are fun but there have their limitations , for instance a terrible striker could only play in one game a season - accidentally deflect a shot off his backside into the net and he'd have a outstanding 1 in 1 record . Should he playing in the Premier League on that reasoning ? I say the market value that clubs place on players are a far more reliable guide of a players current worth than any oh so 'open to interpretation' stat . The record shows that Tommy Smith is (reportedly) worth £1.6m to Reading FC while Rasiak's market worth is in the region of £300k or so - which just about says it all . Perhaps the problem is the very capitalist concept of market value hasn't quite made its way over to Belarus yet .
-
So you accept that Smith scored more goals then - thanks very much .
-
Smith scored 17 league goals and 9 'assists' last season which I think you will find is rather more than Rasiak . It's not what they've done in the distant past that counts - it's what they can do now .
-
And 'Gillet' (sic) should be spelt with two t's not one . Speaking as one of your "council estate scum" and entirely without the benefit of your much vaunted university education I can only console myself with the knowledge that at least I possess the common courtesy to spell a players name correctly before lambasting him . You sir are living proof that the entry requirements for university these days are not quite all they could be .
-
According to this Adam Lallana is one our players who definitely won't be leaving anytime soon : http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4567174.Pardew__Lallana_not_for_sale/ Good to see that our new financial strength means we can fight off the predators these days .

No thanks , for some inexplicable reason the prospect of revisiting your collected wind-ups leaves be somewhat 'unenthused' . As for me needing help I'll just let the rest of the forum make up their own minds as to who is the more suitable case for treatment here . But I'll not join in with the widely held opinion that you should be banned , In my view the kind of comedy value you add on here is quite priceless and indeed unique - please continue , it's rare you find a grown man (I presume) quite as transparent as you are .
-
You may well be right but I hope you don't mind if the club seek a professional opinion first before dragging his carcass out to the knackers yard just yet .
-
The simple truth is if you really want to buy a (willing) football club and you have the necessary funds the transaction can/should be finalised in a month or 6 weeks at the most . When proceedings start to drag on beyond that time frame the alarms bells should start ringing and any 'Plan B' in existence should be dusted off pretty damn quick I'd say - if there is no Plan B then you've really got problems . Shame - it couldn't have happened to a nicer club (not) .
-
 Indeed . I for one am eternally grateful this member has single handedly eradicated the Great Saintsweb diatribe shortage , were it not for his selfless efforts some of us may still have been labouring under the misapprehension that MLT still held the best interests of SFC close to his heart or even (perish the thought) that his past services to the club may have been of some value . To change the subject completely , isn't here's something suspicious about people on here who seldom (if ever) post opinions regarding football matches or the current team situation etc but instead seem to concentrate on expressing views on off the field matters that are seemingly constantly at odds (if not diametrically opposed to) the express opinion of virtually everybody else ? - Some might say this type from a psychological viewpoint probably gain some kind of perverse pleasure from provoking indignation and outrage among their less mendacious fellows - but only if one were to fall into the trap of taking them at all seriously that is . I recommend a course of Internet withdrawal treatment concurrent with intensive therapy at a suitable qualified psychiatric institution (such as the world renowned 'WUM Clinic' Geneva) , but even then the prognosis is bleak I fear .
-
I've spotted where you've gone wrong - PFC are actually planning a 400 seater stadium to fully accommodate their core support , not some oversized 40,000 seat behemoth . Do try to control your decimal points in future old chap .
-
I take the point but we won (& won well IIRC) exactly the same fixture 12 months ago and with the benifit of hindsight it did for us the square root of f*ck all in terms of improving subsequent performances and results . Better to have given them a few days off I say - just my opinion of course .

This fine young athlete is still available : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jermaine_Wright I predict his second coming would definitely liven this place up , TDD and Arizona would be particularly pleased .
