I took 5% pay cut and then had to reapply for my job. It wasn't fun. Especially as I lost out in the process. I would say, look at what the council is doing in comparison to other councils. I have to admit Utd have done well this year to get to the final and win the Premier league considering it seems like their 'weakest' team for a few seasons. The only way I see them beating Barca are balls over the defence for their pace players to latch onto. I like Barca as a club but can't stand this team due to the sheer amount of diving and play acting they do. When clearly they don't need to do it as they are so much better than everyone else.

I've noticed this season that the team actually approaches corners and free kicks a little differently from previous seasons. So tired of hopeful balls being lobbed in and coming to nothing. Its good to see set pieces being worked on and and different things being tried out. Granted they haven't worked all the time but when they do come off, they look good. Now lets sort out the throw ins and use the multi-ball system properly, with the youth team players being trained in what needs to be done a la Reading a couple of seasons ago when they used it against us to great effect. Anyone else think we can gain further small advantages on the pitch?

Highly doubt it. Yes promotion was the minimum required and expected by most but its a number of factors which contribute to achieving the aim. There are plenty of examples where having the best squad/team doesn't equate to winning.

Good, about time Saints started scouring the European leagues again. Hoepfully this will lead to finding a couple of decent players picked up at reasonable prices.

Win the League Cup, FA Cup and the Championship. As one poster famously said Saints should aim to win every single game. Therefore I want all three. In reality I want consolidation (top half of the Championship) with a possible push for play-offs or a late charge for automatic would be a bonus.

Vending machines in some areas would be sweet but ones with rolls and burgers in! But yes the beer situation does need to be sorted. Man City are a good example of serving beers.

Please read the post properly before replying. I am going to be very pedantic and re-iterate that I said I would love to have those players BUT did not say that Saints should get them. Also is there anythign wrong with people dreaming of getting decent players in? (Ok the likes of Owen/Smith/Anton is a bit far fetched but hey-ho!)

I don't think he is that bad to be fair. However there does seem to be a glut of players coming to the end of their contracts this season. I guess there will be another fall out at the beginning of the season when Premier League teams name their 25-man squad paving the way for some decent loans. From Gemmel's list I'd love the following: Jlloyd Samuel Zoltan Gera Simon Cox Kazenga LuaLua Carlos Edwards Ferrie Bodde Darren Pratley Getting them is altogether a different matter though. Sure we'll get a player from Italy that no one has heard of either!

Lualua played quite well for Brighton before he got injured. Would be funny if Saints managed to nick him from them!
