But I can turn that around and say people with adequate ambitions for Saints are just being realistic surely? Take in what other clubs are doing, players leaving and coming in - would it not be realistic to think a top 10 finish would be good?

Yes NC has a vision for the club and talked about Premier League and Champions League, doesnt mean that all Saints fans will buy into that does it. As others have mentioned - Pace throughout the team will be an issue. I know we have clever players who will position themselves but overall it seems we do lack it. A Maynard/CMS player would complement the front line whereas a younger version of Jaidi would be ideal.

I don't understand Mr Alpine. When Saints were lagging behind the likes of Huddersfield in the L1 promotion race you wanted Saints to concentrate on the play-offs instead of automatic promotion. Where was the ambition there...........

It is getting a tad tedious with people making the same comments over and over again. Ok, I get the whole not agreeing with someone but then to harp on about it continuously...seriously? Take the rumours thread - would expect rumours on there not tit for tat ruddy arguments of Saints are the best/Saints are the worst. Being ironic/sarcastic etc.

There will be a lot of movement for loans and sales when the the Premier League teams name their 25-man squads like last year. Maybe a lot of clubs including Saints hoping to get in someone who they previously thought was unattainable becoming available at that point.

Saying that the new England blue away shirt looks quite smart. I may just have to purchase it as my second England top ever! I can see that being used as the desing model but with red and white stripes instead!

Seconded - been a long time since Saints have unearthed good lower league talent (unless someone wants to correct me?). One of the reasons why I hope Aaron Martin makes the step up.

I would say Bedford place is more geared towards the students these days, although relatively quiet weeknights (unless its student of course). Wht not try Oxford Street instead? A couple bars and restuarants but not sure on the music front though.

It does seem like a clanger of a decision to release the shirt this way by the club. As others have said I hope pre-orders are low or non-existent otherwise anyone ordering without the seeing the shirt have more money than sense! Maybe the club really does think they'd get plenty of sales from loyal fans who want the shirt on release?

Maynard - fast, explosive and a good shot on him. We havent got that in the team (upfront) and would mix our striking options up a treat.
