  1. I had exactly the same at work today, every thread I clicked on just re-directed to YouTube.
  2. That's a bit like saying Vince and Carberry can bowl. He's taken 8 first class wickets at the age of 27. He is however a quality bat and was once rated a future England international in the making so fingers crossed. He's certainly made a good start, some of his drives today were lovely to watch.
  3. Having said that, the only team near them is Leyton Orient, and they're 8pts behind and not exactly in great form either. Leyton Orient not in great form??? They must be the form team of all four divisions, they're on an absolutely unbelievable run.
  4. Sorry, wrong quote.
  5. Turnstiles or no turnstiles it's stil free after tea (car park as well).
  6. Lumb's not coming back for a while, he's going to play in the T20 World Cup. Dimi is out injured until at least June, Jones is unlikely to play until June/July at the very earliest and I don't see Herath doing much better than Briggs who has started the season well. Big mistake to let Tahir go (which he'll no doubt prove in the Championship match this week). I'm worried, it already looks like the season is going to be T20 or bust which is a shame as although a bit of fun, it's not really cricket.
  7. Pleased to see Vince in for Dawson, he looked a real class act the few times I saw him last season. I think I read that Herath was having problems with his visa. Can't say I'm too bothered as I don't think he'll set the world alight in April and it gives Briggs, another youngster who looks promising, a good opportunity. Hants 66/0 at present so a solid start.
  8. I think Vince pulled out at the last minute with a back problem, he was scheduled to play in place of Benham. When everyone is available I can't see Dawson or Benham making the Championship side which I reckon will look something like this: Adams Carberry Lumb Vince Mackenzie Ervine Pothas Mascarenhas Herath Ali Griffiths
  9. Weird comment from Pardew on Solent after the game. He said that with the transfers dealings in January the dressing room is "a little bit quieter than it used to be but there's more quality". I agree about the quality, but why is it quieter? It's in his interview on the BBC Sport website, just over 2 mins in. Not slagging him off, I think he's the best manager in this league by a mile but I just wondered what he meant.
  10. So Thomas not injured then. Very poor decision to change 75% of a back 4 that played well together Sat IMO.
  11. Fair enough, didn't realise Thomas was injured. Still think Jaidi could manage 2 games in 4 days when he hasn't played for a couple of weeks though.
  12. Disagree, why leave out Jaidi and Thomas who were both excellent Sat.
  13. My boss is a Bournemouth season ticket holder and when I asked him about Stock he said "good player, has a touch of arrogance about him. Excellent set piece taker, he'll take the ball off the back four and build attacks". So sounds to me a player who will sit and pull the strings rather than bomb forward.

    Snow

About 4 inches here in Titchfield Common I would say and just started chucking it down again in the last few minutes.
  15. Obviously got a Jimmy Carr DVD for Xmas.
  16. Don't understand, my point is they both are. I guess you are saying that Trottman isn't? Just read it again before posting and see the doesn't win many headers for Thomas, I get it now! As a long time viewer of this and previous websites (but infrequent poster) I have to say Chez that I probably find your insights and views of players abilities more detailed than any other poster. I happen to agree with the vast majority with perhaps two notable exceptions. I think Perry's reading of the game, positional sense and covering tackles and blocks make him our best centre back. I also used to think Claus was a class centre-back (after his initial dodgy spell) whereas if I recall correctly you thought he was a liability? Anyway, as I say, keep posting as I enjoy reading your views. Maybe I'll try to join in more!
  17. If I was AP yesterday I'd have ordered the coach driver to divert to Preston and Reading on the way home and dropped Trottman and Antonio off. It amazes me how people rate Trottman, as someone above said if you're looking for a clumsy, error strewn centre back with no positional sense and appalling distribution but who can win a few headers we've already got Wayne Thomas so don't need another one. On second thoughts I'd probably keep Antonio but only if he is used as an impact sub and not a starter. TBH though, to have any chance of a play-off push we need better players than these two.
  18. Are you for real? You think letting Gillett leave is worthy of Pardew getting the sack? Even if we don't buy anyone in January (although clearly we will) Hammond and Schneiderlin are infinitely better than Gillett will ever be and Wotton and James are also superior. Even Gobern I reckon would be as good as Gillett in the middle of the park. That's more than enough cover without the inevitable signings. Go to a game and see how we are playing and have a look at our results if you think Pardew should be sacked. He's the best manager in this league by a mile.
  19. Incredible how we can all watch the same game but have such differing opinions isn't it. I think Jaidi has been a liability at the back recently, he was shocking against Brighton (as was Trottman) and very poor against Wycombe when only Perry's reading of the game and covering tackles saved us from conceding at least one goal. I did think he had a decent game at Walsall though. FWIW, my votes would go to Lambert, Lallana and Connolly in that order (with Hammond just missing out) simply because we've been electric going forward and pretty poor defensively. You only need to look at the goals for and against columns to confirm that. Having said that, if Connolly stays fit for the rest of the season I fully expect him to be player of the season as he is a different class in this league.

    Graham Potter...

You're thinking of Russ Watkinson. From memory he was tallish with very short/shaven hair. Souness seemed to like him and played him a few times, think he may have played wide midfield but not 100% sure. As for that Guardian link, I can't think of a more inappropriate description of Anders Svensson than a "pacy winger"!!
  21. I must have missed that day. I really think it is time for us to release him and repalce him with a decent strike bolwer who actually takes wickets and wins matches, something Tremlett has not done for us for years. I wouldn't be surprised to see Brett Lee as the second overseas player for the T20 competition next year after hearing his glowing praise of Hampshire and the Rose Bowl earlier in the week.
  22. He's an ok L1 player, no more no less. Hence why he has spent his whole career at this level. Two words sum up our team for me, NO PACE.
  23. What is it with all this rested nonsense? He's hardly played all season, our bowling attack is wafer thin, he was outstanding in the last Pro40 and we're resting him from bowling eight overs in a game that if we had won we would be in with a real shout of winning the title. Unreal. Any idea what Tremlett's "injury" is this time? I expect it's a back or neck problem, i.e. something you can't really prove, rather than an actual tear or strain that would show up on a scan.
