  1. The cost per kwH is a bit more these days - the average back in 2006 was 11.89p (according to this site), and we've seen significant increases since then, so I'd possibly go as far as to say it's nearly doubled. Therefore assume 20p per kwH, which would make £174.40 just to power the floodlights for two hours. While it doesn't sound a lot, consider that a lot of people wouldn't necessarily use that much energy in their home in a month... That said, the energy prices clearly aren't going to be the straw that breaks the camel's back in terms of our debt levels!
  2. They're spam bots, usually originating from Russia or China. Fortunately, because we use a two-stage registration filter process, none of them ever get through to actually being able to post, although just their profiles being available can be a problem in terms of search engine listings. I try to delete as many of them as and when they register, and the domain names they register from get added to the blocked domains list we maintain.
  3. Lancashire's suspended...
  4. He's younger than me, which - in my eyes at least - makes him a youngster Robertson's been a bit of a strange one so far, he was outstanding against Norwich but I'm not sure I remember him actually touching the ball against Watford! Smith being available again is useful, particularly as it may mean that Wright-Phillips won't have to play. I'd like to see Pekhart given another go. While he's not set the world alight in the games he's played so far, he's the sort of player who should be able to hold the ball up a lot better than we have been doing in recent games. Defenders will make mistakes, but they will be more likely to make MORE mistakes if we're constantly defending, and if we're not keeping hold of the ball up front, we'll be defending for the vast majority of the game.
  5. They've won a few already this season.
  6. In an ideal world, we'd have probably implemented both of those. However, there are now regulations which have to be adhered to when building a stadium, one of which I think basically means that the stands have to be a certain distance from the playing area to enable an ambulance to drive around it in case of an emergency, and another limits the gradient of the stands so that it's not too steep. If you look around the country at all of the new stadia, I don't think I can think of any which have any sort of "character" which makes them stand out from the others. I'm sure it won't be long before every stadium in the top two divisions are built along the same soulless "flat-pack" concept, simply because it seems to have been proven to be the most cost-effective way of doing it.
  7. I don't think he was convicted of a criminal offence. He was guilty of taking a bung, but I don't think any criminal proceedings were brought against him. David Pleat is probably correct, but I'm guessing he didn't serve time for kerb-crawling.
  8. Destined to end well, that appointment... A question posed on another forum I regularly visit: would Adams be the first convicted criminal to manage a Premier League club?
  9. Given that they appear as if they're going to "appoint from within" in the form of Tony Adams (who was pretty rubbish at Wycombe Wanderers a few years ago), I'd say they seem destined and determined to copy our path, which is generous of them.
  10. While the ground looks fantastic (I think I'm right in saying that it's actually Stanford's own private stadium, which is just mental ), the pitch is unbelievably slow which isn't too conducive to high-scoring Twenty20 cricket, which is a shame. For a "showcase" event such as this, ideally you'd have both teams scoring at least 180 or so.
  11. Seems as if Ticketmaster may have had a bit of a tip-off yesterday...
  12. "Sergio Ramos". Brilliant.
  13. Of course he'd never desert his spiritual home, particularly when there's the likelihood of getting to play with someone else's money again. I notice he's quoting financial problems as one of the reasons for leaving... wonder who might have caused those then!
  14. First signings in January for Spurs - Crouch and Defoe.
  15. Spurs are about to make the biggest mistake of them all, then...
  16. The way Jones described it to me was that Crouch wrote the cheque and handed it over, but as the club was in a bid situation they had to check with the Takeover Panel as to the situation regarding director loans/donations so they couldn't cash it immediately. Once they got permission (a few days later), Jones phoned Crouch out of courtesy to check he was still happy for the cheque to be presented, and he refused. I suspect the actual truth lies somewhere between those two stories.
  17. To be fair, while it's an admirable "offer" (I say that in inverted commas because, as far as I'm aware, such an offer hasn't been formally made to the club), I don't expect either Lowe or Wilde's personal fortunes to be such that they could afford to **** £2m down the drain even if they were willing to.
  18. Seems to have served one of Europe's most famous clubs for years. And Ajax.
  19. Given that he didn't get it 18 months/two years ago when global finance was in apparently-good shape for whatever reason, I'd imagine it won't be so "easy" right now.
  20. Not true. It would be entirely down to the poster to prove that what he was saying is true.
  21. I looked for it as well but no joy I've got it on a video at home somewhere though! Albeit not from the PFTF series, my personal favourite YouTube Fantasy Football clip is this one
  22. Anyone remember Baddiel and Skinner's Phoenix From the Flames recreation of that game?
  23. Who'd have thought it, chairman of a club likely to be fighting relegation every season in "suggestion of stopping relegation from cash cow league" shocker...
  24. Eventually
