Worth noting that Watford tickets are still available, and they've dropped the number of aways required down to what appears to be around 8 or 9.

The 15-run over off Bess was preceded by a 7-ball over which was a 6-ball maiden followed by a single. First ball of the Bess over then went over the ropes. How the hell are first-class umpires allowing 7-ball overs in the modern game?!

Perraud missed the last couple of games of the season with a broken leg, I'd assume that's a fairly genuine injury

My understanding is that Lancashire would still need to be registered in order to be eligible for the B team. -
He doesn't know his arsehole from his elbow. Seems to have this weird belief that having a 5-minute runaround at the end of your dad's testimonial match when you're ten years old qualifies you as some sort of expert.

There are certainly a number of B Team games: July 9th: Frome Town (A) 13th: Cartegena (N) 17th: Villarreal B (N) 23rd: Wycombe Wanderers (N - not sure if the OS has a typo as it's saying the game is in Frome...) 26th: Eastleigh (A) 30th: Watford U23s (H - Staplewood) August 2nd: AFC Totton (A)

Shame we don't bother with any proper local games against League Two (a few options - Crawley, Wimbledon, Sutton) or non-league to ease the players into pre-season anymore. Would have been pretty easy to give two separate XIs 45 minutes against a much lower standard for the fitness and just getting back into the match environment and mentality.

It's really difficult to put much context on these figures, though - we are at the top end of the most expensive and the bottom end of the cheapest, so are we expensive or cheap? We know that the expensive ones are one single block in the Kingsland (less than 1000 tickets), and the cheapest are, what, 4 blocks in the corner? There should be some sort of independently-verified study which provides the median season ticket price for each club, so people who want to lament the insanity of it all can't just use the most expensive prices as justification for their arguments, while the clubs themselves can't just say "we've got these really cheap tickets, what are you complaining about" when some of them have probably offered them for seats sat in the burger kiosk.

They announced both Stephens and McCarthy's previously-signed contract extensions in the retained list news article.

Strange how this commitment doesn't extend to providing sustainable transport options for anyone attending the ground, meaning that single lane road (with cars parked either side) gets clogged up with cars idling and spewing emissions into the air, largely negating all the other good environmental work the club does.

All our games in this competition are away from home.

Sporting Index release Points Prediction for next season - Saints :-O

Money to be made there if you're confident that we'll be even vaguely competent over the course of the season, tbh, although that line might drop after the first 5 games so could be worth waiting it out to see if we drop to 35 or 36 before buying... -
The way people have been going on, you'd have thought Surrey were about 40 points clear. The gap is 3 points, and if we were to level them we'd be ahead on number of wins. If only we hadn't done our annual roll over at the Oval...

Annoying, I came in here to make the same gag

Gambling, certainly, as it looks like it might even be legislated against in terms of shirt advertising. Crypto has a while to go yet, I suspect - basically until someone big gets properly scammed... -

Nah, we lost 1-0 to them in the early 90s. Steve Marlet - who was their record signing, I think, but barely scored, which is all rather predictable - got the only goal.

Yep, two seasons in League One, JPT area final and FA Cup 3rd Round
