Ticket pricing always will be a difficult issue. Not sure what our average home attendance is this year ( because I can't be bothered to work out) but lets says it's 16000 - at £25 avg ticket price that income per game of £400k. If you drop the ticket price to £15, then you need nearly 27k through the turnstiles to make the same income (ignoring additional revenue from the world class catering, megastore, etc) The question left for the club is - would we get an extra 11000 through the turnstiles on a regular basis if we dropped the price?

Too many consortiums for Mr Fry (and us)?

Another way of putting it is that if they don't get their way then they spit their dummy.... Do we really want that type of person/persons in charge even if they do have money? But, as has been mentioned, beggars can't be choosers. -
Someone turn on the SaintsTV coverage please!

You're wanting yourself out CB??? -
The current rumour in Scotland is that Ujpest are trying to do a deal with Celtic over player sharing.

David Gold of Birmingham was interviewed on Talksport this morning & Alan Brazil asked for his take on it. Golds impression was that we would get away with it - who wouldn't being trying to find every loophole available if they were in that situation. He did add that it takes something like this to happen for the FL to close down so that it doesn't happen again.

Agreed - so why is the administrator saying that SMS is not for sale? I'm having a horrible thought that Lowe has no intention of coming back for the football club, but what if he did a deal for SMS & Staplewood. That would show a real vindictive streak, hence I wouldn't put it past him.
-
Surely it is a subsiduary company of SLH?
-
The sale doesn't include SMS or Staplewood - surely if SLH owned them the administrators would be obliged to sell any asset. So who owns them? or have they been repossessed?

I'm in

Unless the subsiduary company has sufficient funds to continue trading at the moment. I am reading between the lines here (or guessing) but the reason the accounts couln't be signed off for the Plc was that the auditors couln't agree that we were a going concern for the next 6 or 12 months - hence the Plc goes into voluntary adminstration, which the board have to do. However the football club may have separate funds to allow them to continue trading until the end of season. As separate entities, there would presumably be separate bank accounts for the Plc & football club - if only the Plc account has the overdraft facility then potentially this buys time for the football club to find a buyer avoiding the points penalty (for now).

Not so much on a different planet 19-C but in a different galaxy!!

Would agree with your comments around why would Wotte come back if he was treated that badly. Yes, Wotte does need to keep quiet about certain issues - Best & Blackstock all happened before he joined so has nothing to do with him. However, I would expect him to comment regarding BWP & DMG - as an example, look at Ashley Cole this week - didn't see too many statements from Abramovich or Kenyon but did see Hiddink commenting about it.

Was Lowe a lot closer to being right than we give him credit for?
Gorgiesaint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
No, the art of good management is to get the right people in the right positions - improve their skills so that they move on to bigger & better things. Succession planning is about having someone with the skills and some experience ready to replace that key top performer when they do leave. It is not putting the 'right' person into a job that he should have had whilst you've had someone incompetant in their place. -
and importantly we are now level on goal difference with Blackpool.

Fantastic result tonight. We're up to 6th in the form table, Blackpool are bottom & Crystal Palace are 3rd bottom - could they be dragged into the drop zone? http://www.4thegame.com/statistics/championship/tables/currentform.html Great to see Bournemouth out of the L2 drop zone & even better to see Pompey losing - thats what I call a perfect night!!!

Last season, we had the March Madness campaign which, according to OS, led to more than 7000 ST renewals. There's been no news on any early bird prices for next year as yet. Given our financial position and the many rumours of administration, does this indicate that we are not being subjected to as much financial pressure as we are led to believe? Or is it that Lowe has been so frightened that with only one home league win all season, no-one would renew and the bank would have pulled the plug? If that is the case then will he quickly roll out something given our back to back wins?

Can we use season ticket renewals to oust Lowe?
Gorgiesaint replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
Apologies if I'm barking up the wrong tree, so to speak, but I glanced at a number of threads whilst I was at work earlier. Did someone manage to get a refund on the unused part of their season ticket? If it's possible, then the obvious trick is for all season ticket holders wishing to boycott to request refunds. Having to write out a few refund cheques would make Lowe extremely nervous. -
Not seen the goal but I have seen Sproule when he was at Hibs before his move to Bristol and he is quick. If KD was up for a corner then depending on starting position then wellying it past our last line & chasing it may well have been the way to go - not embarrassing - thats the way it is when your keeper is up for a corner in injury time. This is the crux of the issue - that and why he & JP were appointed in the first place. But we all know that Lowe isn't going to sack Wotte as well so L1 footy next season for us.
-
You're right & wrong TDD. IMO, you are wrong that you think it's a crock of *rap. However you are right that much of that is to do with the choice of manager. Yes the kids deserved a chance after what the so-called experienced pro's did last season, but not all at the same time and they needed to right guidance behind them. In JP & Wotte, they have not had that - I dare say that Billy Davies would have been good, as would Pearson.
-
So if you're in a car heading for the edge of a cliff with 90% chance of going over the edge, do you not take the wheel and work with the 10% chance that you might get out of it. You seem to want to go over the edge. Not sure the club is the wounded animal here - think you'll find thats Lowe & Wilde and that is what makes them even more dangerous as rationality goes out of the window.
-
As a short term stop gap, Mary Corbett would be better than Lowe or Wilde. On a long term basis - by her own admission, she failed to do due diligence to Wilde's proposals so absolutely no. Long term the Chairman / CEO has to be someone unconnected with the events of the past.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_4908161,00.html £15m owed to the directors & £6m in 'other' debts. Would imagine (but don't know) that most of the debt owed to the directors probably relates to ground improvements for moving back & upgrading the valley. If, out of the £6m, they don't owe the taxman anything then they are probably in no immediate threat of admin. Directors putting in £15m?? Not at our club....

Did BWP & McGoldrick attack a Saints fan?
Gorgiesaint replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
I would pull this thread - there has been nothing to substantiate the rumour as put up in the opening post - and nothing to identify which other forum was supposed to have had this originally. We can always start a new thread to debate if & why the first team were out on the town rather than preparing for some extra training. -
