Now the BBC site http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/8647085.stm Oversea's accounts again - wonder if its image right payments?

Well, if I recall it correctly - Forecast was on a 5 year deal because he was such a 'great prospect'. Can't remember about Pulis though. Edit: Just checked the OS - signed a 2 year contract in August 2008 with an option for a third year

Just scanning round the internet today, I notice there was contrasting fortunes for a couple of ex-Saints. Dave Hockaday was relegated at the weekend with Forest Green Rovers after conceeding a couple of late goals at Grays. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/f/forest_green_rovers/8644654.stm Meanwhile, over in Holland, the boysh of FC Eindhoven under Jan Poortvliet have made the play-offs, despite finishing 12th out of 19 teams!! They played the first leg against AGOVV from Appeldoorn and won 1-0. The second leg in Appeldoorn is on Thursday. The playoff system in Holland has to be one of the most complicated things I have ever come across, even my Dutch relatives struggle to explain it to me, but if they get through then they should play Willem II from Tilburg (who will probably finish 17th in the top division, the Eredivisie - otherwise its Sparta Rotterdam). If they can get through then the final round will be against Cambuur or the fantastically names Go Ahead Eagles!! http://www.jupilerleague.nl/jupiler-playoffs-2010.php Will update the 2nd leg score on Saturday. (corrected date - the other playoff game is on Thursday)

Don't forget that Pompey have been milked for the transfer proceeds from Crouch, Defoe, Johnson, Diarra, Krancjar prior to the start of this season. That money disappeared and they were replaced with cheaper players whilst the noose started to tighten. Don't forget, the theory is that the longer they can keep the club going, the more sky money can be milked. The closing of the noose continued with only being able to 'buy' loan players. So yes there have been constraints this season, much of the damage was done over the last 2-3 years. Just been watching the film Snatch - one line stood out for me. F***ing pikey's, I hate f***ing pikey's.

Def not Ibrox. Its not a UK ground - look N Europe with a team in blue. Hmm - its not France, Belgium or Holland - and not Rostock in Germany so Denmark, Sweden or Norway?
-
Saggers & Colleymore been talking about Pompey again on Talksport. They still have fans trying to come on defend the club - they were trying to debate the bigger picture, fortunately they are all being shot down. Both have also been arguing against the 4 year parachute payment. David from Bristol - the current team didn't cost us anything - so you're ignoring the loan fee's that you've paid & the money for Dindane that I'm sure has now been re-negotiated twice now!!
-
Would agree with Tac-Tics, its Standard Liege's ground.

Weston - Bluejob was referring to the theft from the 2 charities to be fair to him

So the administrators think they've done a good job, they want to use that as example of their good work!!! http://www.sportingintelligence.com/2010/04/25/administration-firm-touts-for-business-on-back-of-puzzling-portsmouth-case-250401/ Hate to see them make a mess of anything
-
I was taking a look at their message boards earlier as well. The lets all lol at the scummers thread can disintegrated into a bit of infighting amongst themselves. Anyone who didn't want to agree with the title & have a reasonable debate got labelled a scummer - so I guess that confirms that we must be the reasonable, open-minded lot!!

Some executives in Vantis' tax division were involved in setting up a scheme which avoided paying capital gains tax for its clients. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article6869589.ece

I had a few doubts myself on Friday despite it being on a Portsmouth forum site because I couldn't find the original site that it referred to. That said, at least the News did some investigation and Comical Andy's statement obviously confirmed the truth of the allegation. That was yesterday - so I'm surprised it has only made the NOTW so far.
-
Looks like the Pompey News charity story has made it into the NOTW http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/793895/Shameful-strugglers-pocket-charity-money-raised-for-cancer.html

Actually, yes apart from the obvious theft - another criminal offence may have been committed here in relation to their tax. There are tax breaks for charitable giving - dontaing money from shirt sales whould have been this - have they claimed tax relief for it & hence committed an offence in that way. Either way HMRC should be made aware - as should the charities commission who I will be contacting in the morning. Has anyone contacted Hampshire Constabulary yet or know a friendly policeman sho can check this is being investigated? Sorry to the fans who contributed towards getting St Johns Ambulance paid - that was a decent gesture - but to the remaining pitiful fans & those others associated with this cesspit of a club - they need to be f****d over.
-
Hmmm does that indicate that I'm not far away?? The geography in the background looks like SE Europe & if its a national stadium for a small nation playing in red then - (its not Macedonia - that I do know) Albania??
-
Avram won't be moaning about that just yet - he's still whinging about them not getting into Europe. Un-f***ing-believeable

I remember Kelvin with Murty, Perry, Jaidi & Harding being lauded by some on here - ok it hasn't worked out as solid as some expected but anyway, back to the point - Ashdown & Brown would do a job for us next season.
-
I'd take Belhadj & O'Hara but neither are going to join us - they are PL quality players. Brown will do a job in L1 next season & the Championship the season after, and fills a position that we're lacking in. (Thats not to say we shouldn't try and get Belhadj BTW)
-
Actually would agree with you on Ashdown but potentially first choice. I know Kelvin did well last season but he just hasn't commanded the penalty box & his defence in the way I would have expected someone of his experience in L1 this season. We've conceeded a goal a games this season with a defence that was widely regarded as the best in L1 at the start of the season.

The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread
Gorgiesaint replied to supersonic's topic in The Saints
Rumour is that Nicky Butt is going to Preston - obviously knows Darren Ferguson from his (brief) time at Man Ure. If we can sign Antonio & Papa Waigo - we need a goalkeeper, right back, centre back & defensive midfielder - we've got plenty going forward for this league but we need to shore it up at the back. -
Well that will be an interesting post match press conference from Karl whatshisname - no doubt they totally battered Leeds today who just hoofed it
-
and Brentford - shows what could have been. That said, if you'd offered me 7th place & the JPT just before Markus pitched up then I would hav ebitten anyone's hand off!!
-
Well - see that very clean team MK Dons managed to get another 2 players sent off today
-
Adrian Durham on Talksport talking to Stan Colleymore just mentioned the cancer charity issue, didn't make too much of it - but I get the feeling Stan will be picking it up in Call Colleymore later, and he ripped into Pompey earlier in the week saying they should be thrown out of the cup & not play another league game this season, something he has just repeated.

Its being covered on the Pompey Takeover Saga thread in the Lounge http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=702749&posted=1#post702749 But you're right - it does get worse!! Shocking.
