I believe there was a book, but Ladbrokes have closed it after an influx of people ITK (apparently)

Right so multi-billionaire successful businessman has part of his business that isn't performing..... ..... so he stays away in a Didier Drogba style sulk!!! Yeah - of course he does

Being reported now on Talksport that the FL clubs have accepted the PL's parachute payments.

Contrasting fortunes for a couple of ex-Saints

Also noticed that Marek Saganowski's new team - Atromitos finished 7th out of 16 in the Greek Super League. Marek finsihed with 2 goals out of 9 league games played so hardly prolific. -

Thanks Jonnyboy. I was out all day yesterday so wasn't able to follow the game live but appears it was 1-1 draw in the 2nd leg - with FC Eindhoven going out 3-2 on aggregate. -
For everyday eating - has to be the KitKat Chunky. But slightly surprised only one person has mentioned the Topic. One to reminisce (sp) with as well, the Starbar!!

If the PL have done a deal to support Pompey then I would say they are on dangerous ground. Without a full investigation, its impossible to say exactly what has gone on but criminal offences are likely to have taken place and potentially still taking place. Would that make the PL culpable as they are now aiding & abetting?

Yeah, forgot to add the reasoning behind my thinking!!!

A-ha!!! We might just be missing something obvious here & if this is right then HMRC are playing a blinder. Okay if they accept the CVA then they'll get 20% of £34m which is circa £7m.... or.... They reject the CVA, take the issue back to court to say that when the SOA was presented the debts to HMRC were circa £12m (? - not sure but use this figure for now). The debt is now £34m - up by £22m. So who has to pay this - step forward AA & UHY Hacker Young (as all additional debts accrued under admin are payable by the administrator) In the meantime PCFC are wound up as the CVA can't be agreed. This way HMRC end up with £22m instead of £7m and make an example of Pompey & a dodgy administrator. Could that be a possible scenario?
-
Thats my understanding as well BTF, but then the accuracy of the reporting has been very poor to be fair.
-
Ok so what is the order of business now: Yesterdays vote was surely just an ok for AA to prepare & present the CVA, not an agreement to the CVA (which appears to have been reported). If that is the case then HMRC still has right to block the CVA. Given that the CVA should take about 14 days to produce and get to vote, HMRC still have 28 days to appeal it. I believe at this point, HMRC will be back in court to dicsuss the differences between the SOA produced at the original winding up petition and the debt now shown in CVA. Don't forget, when Leeds were coming out of administration they were in a position to get a CVA agreed. Despite that the FL still imposed a points deduction as HMRC took the whole matter to court and would have delayed the CVA implimentation until well into the new season - this is pretty similar to what I think will happen in this case. I would also be very surprised if the FL let the original business be liquidated and transfer the golden share to a new company without any penalty. They are far from being out of the woods yet.

RBS will be a good bet long term - but it will need to be a long term investment. You won't make much of a profit in 12 mths, expect to have your money tied up for 5 years plus.

Oh and for those who have an interest in Dutch football, one of the other results from tonight was Ajax beating Feyenoord 4-1 in Rotterdam in the 2nd leg of the Dutch Cup final to win 6-1 on aggregate. Siem De Jong added 2 more goals to the 2 he scored in the first leg, with a brace from Luis Suarez. For those who weren't aware, the cup final is normally played over one leg at Feyenoord's De Kuip stadium, however the security concerns over what is a pretty volatile encounter, led the Dutch FA to decide to switch the cup final to 2 legs with no away fans in attendance. -
For those who are interested - tonight was the first leg of the second round of the play-off's. Being covered in the General Sports section. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=715871#post715871

Just to give a quick update on JP's progress in the play-off's, tonight was the first leg of the 2nd round. Despite going a goal up within 2 minutes, FC Eindhoven lost 2-1 at home to Willem II. The second leg is in Tilburg on Sunday. -
The question that is bugging me - why run this sham for 9mths & then liquidate the company? Who benefits from a new company? (Sorry thats 2 questions..)
-
So I would presume that if the plan in to run PCFC for 9 mths then transfer the assets to a new company & liquidate - this will have to be run through the courts? Is that the point that HMRC then question why the SOA figure (£78m?) has now risen to £138.6m?
-
Good luck Duncan
-
( 34.2 / (138.6-36.2) ) * 100 = 33.4%
-
You're quite right - thanks Benjii & others for putting my mind at ease. They are indeed, as you say, ruined!!!! :smt043
-
Actually this could be worrying. Right now, they are as good as fooked but an extra £50m could bring HMRC's block back under 25%.
-
Well if thats the case then HMRC will have well above 25% & Poopey can kiss their CVA goodbye!
-
Right - some basic maths here but how are they going to make this happen? Total debts £138.6m Football creditors - clubs £17m - wages £5m Secured Debts £14.2m So thats a total of £36.2m which has to be paid in full, which leaves £102.4m for the CVA. Now at 20p in the £ - that's still £20.48m So the total to be paid is £36.2m + £20.48m = £56.68m Where are they going to get £56.68m to pay the CVA from? Parachute payments are £48m - but they still need to run a football club in the meantime. That basically means they have to run a Championship team based on gate money alone & still contribute nearly £2m a year towards their past debts - so what happens to a club trading insolvently under an existing CVA?

A question many people would like an answer to, although Vantis were only given a short amount of time to produce the SOA so i don't think the numbers were made up. Can the HMRC refer this back to court given the new numbers?
