  1. Decent blog by Tom Fordyce on the BBC site about the game.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/tomfordyce/2010/06/maraat.html Hadn't realised Mahut was the guy who beat Alex Bogdanovic 24-22 in the final set in the final round of qualifying.
  2. Ponty, I'm not saying that the OB are responsible for the whole thing but they have some responsibility. Had it completely kicked off, do you think that if there was another derby the following week then the OB would have made the same decision to release the Pompey fans at the same time? IMO they would make the decision that has been made at every other derby game and hold them back - which is actually what they should have done in the first place. It does not excuse the idiots for causing trouble but the OB have a duty of care to the public. IMO they did not discharge that duty of care properly.
  3. So if the police (on the guys way in) see that he has a machete & can see he's outraged by something, would you expect them to open the door for him, or do something to prevent him using his machete? By the way - I agree that all of these people need to take personal responsibility for their actions so have no excuses. But the police also have a responsibility.
  4. You obviously didn't see the Algeria game then.....
  5. One question for both you and pfc123 - when do you think you started to trade insolvently?
  6. No he didn't - he was sacrificed in an attempt to keep the club alive until a buyer was found. Ok so we know now he's not coming back - move on, who's the next target?
  7. Spot on. In the same way, they have to operate for rules of entrapment for various offences - it was a crazy decision to let both sets of fans out at the same time given what had happened in the game. Saints fans were held in for 45 minutes at their last visit to fartton, why? Because it was the right thing to do. The same should have applied here. Whoever made the decision has to be made accountable for some poor decision making, in the same way that these individuals have now been made accountable for their actions.
  8. Finished 2-1 but see Domenech refused to shake Perreira's hand at the end. He really is a prat!
  9. So even if the football creditors rule stays in place then (assuming the French clubs are outside the rule) then that still £37.7m out of the the £48m of parachute payments gone - not much left for Chainrai!!
  10. Or they could have done what Colchester did, and given 2 sets of prices depending which league they were in.
  11. Yep seems to be worse than ever!! (Got the Ye up from the last sentance before it gave up)
  12. My initial reaction is how much of an effect this document may have on HMRC's case in their challenge to the football creditors rule. By law, all were allowed to vote but that list is dominated by football creditors who will receive 100% of their debt under the football creditors rule. Had they not been allowed to vote then there is no way that the CVA would have been approved. There are a lack of smaller unsecured creditirs - where have they gone? The schools appear to have completed disappeared. And what has happened to the creditors represented by Griffins?
  13. Claus fined £500 with £100 costs for his assault back in April. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/8230467.Lundekvam_pleads_guilty_to_assault/?ref=mr
  14. Carlsberg don't do accountancy but if they did & they'd drunk 24 cans of the wretched stuff, they'd still be able to count better than the skates
  15. Try again, but then we always knew that maths & money weren't a skate strong point!!! 32,000 - 20, 000 = 12,000 extra heads per game 12,000 x 23 matches x £20 = £5.52m But you're right - we won't get £32k & you won't get 20k, in reality we'll get 20k and you'll possibly scrape 15k in your hole so the true figure is probably about only £2.3m in extra revenue. But that shouldn't worry you, what with your transfer embargo still in place.....
  16. Well if one of the pin up boys of Brazilian football being sent off doesn't help FIFA to open their braincells to video replays then nothing will.
  17. Only saw the motogp race but the new section of track looked really good for the bikes. Bit of a walk in the park for Lorenzo but a good race for second. And good to see Ben Spies getting his first podium.
  18. Ah brilliant - after several dozen threads about installment plans & season tickets, here's another thread to polarize opinion and give the WUM's in both camps something else to moan about. Yes loads of people moaned when memberships were scrapped so maybe it is a good thing to re-introduce them. But it depends how they are re-introduced, they could be used to 'rip off' the fans further but then if there is no real benefit then no-one will buy so lets all wait & see what they give before we start moaning.
  19. Doesn't change anything, the bloke is still a **** for making those comments. Any chance of apologising for the actual performance, well lack of, and a complete lack of effort and caring whilst representing your country.
  20. Ghana are the best of the african teams at this world cup - but they've just proved against Australia why an african team will not win a world cup at the moment. They do ok as the underdog but when they are asked to make the game, they simply cannot do it.
  21. What was the point in taking Joe Cole to the WC if he's not going to use him? I would have brought him on in both games (irrespective of the fact he should be starting), but if Capello doesn't use him in the next game then it makes a joke of leaving Walcott out of the squad - who is someone else who could have changed both games. Should be: ----------------- James ----------------- Johnson -- Dawson -- Terry -- A Cole ---------- Carrick ---- Barry ----------- SWP ---------- Gerrard ---------J Cole ----------------- Rooney ---------------
  22. Has missed training today but the rumour on Talksport that he will be sent home tomorrow. Apparantly had a row with Domenech at half time againt Mexico.
  23. There was a vote that was required to allow AA to prepare & present his CVA. That was when HMRC negotiated the liquidation of the original company - but they only supported the preparation of the CVA. So no, luckily , you are not turning into nickh!!
  24. Fantastic to see the French surrender so meekly. Domenech may be an arse but the players just don't look like they give a toss. Whether or not you agree with the formation or tactics, you're still playing for your country - that should mean something.
  25. Watching the Mexico v France game, and at least you can hear the Mexican singing & doing the Olé chant above the sound of them. Can we get some Mexicans instead?
