  1. Well done Gemmel, just found that doc myself. Here's the salient points for you though pfc123... Hope that helps pfc123
  2. Can actually be read both ways - 'Nugent's BM at his wedding' could be short for 'Nugent is BM at his wedding' but re-reading it I see where you're coming from! Anyway, free & on the right wage, could be good signing.
  3. But Nugent's mate obviously is as it was his wedding.... and I don't think you have to be married to be a best man.
  4. Agreed, and I don't think Adkins/Cortese would bring him in on big money to upset the squad.
  5. Just heard an interview with Barry Fry on Talksport. Confirmed bids from QPR, Leicester & West Ham had also been accepted. Says deals was agreed 6 weeks ago with Neil Warnock but that Ecclestone & Briatore refused to sanction it. Described the board at QPR as an embarrassment. CMS met with Allardyce at West Ham on Thursday, and met Eriksson at Leicester on Friday (having agreed a deal 10 days ago with them). Believes CMS will be on less wages at Brighton than was offered at West Ham.
  6. Brilliant update here on the new BBC sport news update 1356:BBC Sport's Ben Dirs thinks David Haye's has four options in the wake of his defeat to Wladimir Klitschko in Hamburg. He could fight Wladimir again, take on his brother Vitali, fight some of the fringe contenders in his division to work his way back into contention or retire. What other options were there then Ben? Genius
  7. Very good interview with David Haye on Talksport just now, admitted that Klitchko was the better fighter and that he had let down the fans, didn't hide - as someone who talks the talk & didn't walk the walk, expects to take the stick. Says will be being interviewed by Sky next. Did say that he does want a rematch but the ball is firmly in Klitchko's court. Interview will be going up on their website fairly soon if anyone is interested.
  8. Here we go again.....
  9. One of the debates that going on in Scotland at the moment is with regards to the number of catholic schools, particularly on the west coast around Glasgow. This has been happening largely because of the problems around the old firm games last season, and the subsequent bits of post Neil Lennon received. I have to say that I don't know how they are funded up here, but the debate is around whether being separated as catholics at school makes the kids less tolerant towards the protestant kids. Extending the argument, its easy to have that same debate about 'christianity' and islam. One thing though, is the purpose of schooling not to educate our kids in areas that they would not normally get education on (i.e. from their parents). The problem, as I see it, with single faith schools is that you have plenty of 'experts' on your own religion - but who is then qualified to talk about another religion? (as all the teachers & pupils are of a single faith). Now that's a problem for single faith schools of any faith. I can remember back to when I was at school 25 years ago and going into religious education classes, at a school with all white teachers, and the teacher trying to talk about Islam. Absolutely no idea what he was talking about so it was a complete waste of time. If religious education is to be done in schools , it has to be done properly. In fact, if I was arranging it, I would get teachers to teach the subject - get in people from the local churches & mosques - that's what they trained for.
  10. That one quote sums you and the vast majority of the few up. I'm sure that Peter Storrie probably used that line to..... Absolutely ****ing unbelieveable
  11. So to make up 7 they even had to drag in Andy's son? Perhaps Clotterill will be using this technique to ensure that the few have a full team this season
  12. No, liquidacetion surely.
  13. I see River Plate only managed a 1-1 draw with Belgrano in the second leg of their relegation play-off, having lost 2-0 in the first leg. Glad I'm not in Buenos Aires tonight! Now it takes a period of prolonged incompetence to get a big club like that relegated in Argentina - the relegation spots are decided over 6 championships covering 3 years!
  14. Listening to Talksport over the weekend & they were swapping between the golf & cricket as usual. They went across to Bob Bubka who does the golf for them and he said that when he was friends with Tiger Woods in his early days, he was at the Deutsche Bank open in Germany and he got introduced to Boycott. He asked him if he wanted to go down to the practice range and see this new kid in action. So off the go, Boycott watches Tiger hit 2 shots and say right, let's go back. Bubka obviously keen to know what Boycott thought and eventually askes him his opinion on Tiger. Boycott apparently replies that he's unbelievable, an incredible athlete - he reminds me of myself when I was younger!
  15. I'd don't think the language matters as surely the question is, does Clotterill have a facebook account to communicate with?
  16. Think I just caught that Danny Kelly is doing an interview with Sonko on Talksport at some point in the next hour Edit: On now Didn't really say much about Pompey, just re-iterated that they had too many loan players for him to play, Danny never really pushed for what was happening there. Just said that he was keen to play, money not the main issue as he's made his money now, it's about playing football, seemed to have a really good attitude.
  17. Well here's a few names of Prem League players who are out of contract that the few will be able to get free - despite having to pay PL wages.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13791674.stm Expect them to be mentioned on few website as potential signings very soon - and possibly at Fartton shortly after.
  18. Okay, I'm thinking out loud here. What if the Russians have paid the full £17m to Chinny to buy the club but they've agreed to say it's on installments (e.g. £5m down and another £12m to go) which means that a further £12m (plus interest?) can still be bled out of the club? Surely this would create a perfect environment to move quantities of cash from Russia through the club, and get another legitimate way of getting some more back out? Another thing, during the admin period, didn't a chinese/Hong Kong group get serious but were almost chased away by Admin Andy; funny that eventually the club ends up in Russian control - home to Arkadi.
  19. Doesn't read that the new owners are exactly flush with cash for a spending spree either, but then again, I suspect they'll put it on the never never and start running the debts up again. When do Zebra Finance take over the company?
  20. In the same way that they are serious about paying Tal Ben Haim's wages?
  21. Journalist just been on Talksport - says Birmingham have been in contact with Pompey - didn't catch who is was. Journo went on about what a good job Clotterill did last season starting with only 12 players, Sam Matterface (who's a Pompey fan) just commented that well they've only got 8 now!
  22. Talksport saying that reports that Birmingham have approached Clotterill as 'wide of the mark'
  23. That's what happens when you ask people with webbed fingers to count for you - they try to count one but three other fingers get pulled in as well!!
  24. Bizarre decision at a track which is supposed to suit your car and your driver has been on pole for the last 3 years - unless of course they know they're slower than Red Bull & Ferrari anyway
  25. Some great shots on that link, thanks Marsdinho. Not sure if anyone else has seen the photos on BBC site from the Chilean volcano - the first 2 shots are spectacular. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-13664429
