and what do they all have in common? Yes, they've all been hailed by the phew at some point as heroes, they even queued for AA's autograph he was that much of superstar on Portsea Island. And now, here they all are bandied together as mass murderers - kinda ironic with Sacha in there given Arkadi's track record. Yet the beast is not yet dead, so not quite sure how they're murderers just yet? And if the beast does not die, then Balu looks like the most likely person to pick up the remains of the carcass so what will the PST do then? Will they cheer his name to the rafters as the saviour of the club (again) (well at least for couple of years til the parachute payments have found their way to Hong Kong) or will they arrange a boycott as the 'murderer' returns? The PST, if they take the latter option, could then get a place on their own poster! And yes, they should have started the phoenix club already...

http://www.pompeytrust.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=417:pst-statement-we-are-ready-to-save-pfc&catid=34:demo-category Have they actually raised a 7 figure sum, or do they just have pledges for a 7 figure sum? How long is it going to take them to collect all the money, after all they wanted the good folk of pompey to go and get credit for the club.

I've woken up this morning and it's like I've had a fantastic dream, and then found out that the last 24-48 hours did actually happen. So to summarise.... The administrator says unless the 8 players left at home don't reduce their wage 'demands', Pompey will be liquidated on 1st August. Greg Halford says the administrator isn't talking to them or other clubs much and really not making an effort. Despite taking on a head of recruitment, a commercial manager & a first team coach, they still can't sign any player & want 4 people to work as performance analysts for free. The fans have taken to twitter to make the 8 players at home public enemy number one & basically want to lynch them. There shocked that other fans don't realise they are the bestest. The future Pompey first team got humiliated 4-0 by a team of part timers whose previous scalps included the giant football nations of the Isle of Man & Jersey. The only player that came out of the 4-0 defeat is the fantastically named Mustapha Dumbuya. Have I missed anything?

Can just imagine the PA announcer at the end... Michael Appleton, Sol Campbell, David James, Linvoy Primus, Vince Hilaire... your boys took one hell of a beating!

All we need now is the Spanish authorities to hold them up for 12 hours or so at the border crossing....

I believe they used AC/DC in Somalia (the incident that spurred Black Hawk Down) where they played the downed pilot's favourite AC/DC tracks as they flew around the city in helicopters, eventually they spotted him waving a sheet out of a window in response and sent a snatch squad in to rescue him, and yes they did play something night & day when Noriega was holed up - but I can't remember what. I think some of the stories of the away dressing room at the Dell were along the lines of the heating being up full blast in the summer, and 'broken' during the winter. Seem to recall one tale of a pipe bursting above the away dressing room causing all the away teams kit to be soaked.

Why? We don't want them. I'll think you'll find that David Murray set the affair in motion - without his 'creative' use of the EBT scheme they wouldn't be facing a massive tax bill & without his spending they wouldn't have gone into admin and he was the one who sanctioned the sale to Charles Whyte - who then ran the club along the 'Peter Storrie school' of using tax money for cashflow. The SPL clubs were the ones that voted, under great pressure from their fans, for NewCo to put in the SFL. But the SFA do have a lot to answer for, the game is a shambles up here & needs a radical overhaul but I'm not sure anyone trusts the people currently in charge to get it right.

As a West Ham fan, he supports a club which has also overspent massively & has some very big bills coming its way (I believe from the David Sullivan interview that was on one of their websites, this seasons season ticket money has already gone in a Rangers/Ticketus style deal & in 2013 they are due a min £21m to Sheffield Utd as part of the compensation for the Tevez affair). No surprise that he won't criticise Pompey when his own club shows a similar level of restraint (or not) at spending.

Well today's triallist of the day award goes to.... Mustapha Dumbaya Never could have one player be so aptly named for a single club. It's like they got him to change his name by deed poll so they could advertise the club at the same time. Please let just him be signed!!! Pure comedy gold. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/pompey-welcome-four-new-faces-to-training-1-4036125

Allan McGregor, current Scottish no 1 (cue the endless jokes about Scottish keepers) is very good, however not to sure about his attitude - he was one of the those involved when Barry Ferguson got stripped of the Scottish Captainancy, and by all accounts he trys to be a bit of a lad. That said, a move out of Glasgow would probably be a decent move for him, the Old Firm are in the proverbial goldfish bowl.

A free transfer from the 3rd division to the 1st... concedes 15 goals in 5 starts including 8 in one game and plays in front of crowds of between 300 & 500... he must have got scared playing front of 1500 in that 4-0 defeat in the playoff 2nd leg!! Almost wants me to see him in action for them... almost...

Most of the roads used in Valencia are so quiet that you can walk down the middle of where the circuit is and not get bothered by traffic. There are a few that need to be closed that have a bit of traffic but because it's situated by the America's Cup harbour its manageable. It's not like its in the centre of town like Monaco.

Rangers' administration vs Portsmouth's vs Ours
Gorgiesaint replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
The latest rumour north of the border is that Linlithgow Rose, one of the junior clubs up here (non-league in other words) is taking legal advice as after the shambles that was Gretna - the SFA put a rule in that any new club to the leagues (ie SPL or SFL) would need to supply 3 years accounts to be allowed to join. Obviously newco Rangers cannot provide that, so may lead to them spending some time in the non-league, or may just mean some compensation to be paid. -
Some interesting debate going on at Cardiff it seems. Small update (not wanting to sidetrack too far from pompey) on the Rangers situation north of the border, according to the beeb, they're trying to shoehorn Rangers into Div 1 next season, although that may get blocked. Little rumour I've heard is that one of the junior clubs (non-league if you like) Linlithgow Rose is considering legal action against the SFA & SFL if newco Rangers are allowed in the SFL - even in Div 3. The argument is that I believe that new rules were put in place post Gretna to ensure that any new club has to submit 3 years worth of accounts - obviously newco Rangers can't. Could end up with Rangers having to play non-league for 3 years!!! (at the Scottish equivalents of our fave non-league ground Moneyfields)

That has been mooted for a couple of years now... I thought all of the talk now was of a track round the Olympic Park? Can't see the Queen being too chuffed at being woken up for Saturday morning practice by two dozen rather loud F1 cars!
-
I'd seen Best was linked with Blackburn on BBC gossip page this morning - and now I've read the links mentions us & Norwich as interested as well according the Daily Mail.... Can't see it to be honest, he's be 5th choice here so why would he want to move. Blackburn in the Championship would be about his level tbh. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2164139/Blackburn-want-Dan-Gosling-Leon-Best.html

I think it's fair to say that would settle the argument!

See Barnsley have also signed Jacob Mellis as well... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18494459 With Mido, Mellis & Kelvin Etuhu, Keith Hill had better make sure he stays on top of them from a disciplinary perspective, can see that lot causing him no end of trouble (of course, they're probably all reformed characters now).

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition
Gorgiesaint replied to Jimmy_D's topic in The Saints
Heard his interview on Talksport this morning with Alan Brazil, was going to say HCDAJFU then checked and he's now 30 and only played 23 games since leaving VFB Stuttgart two seasons ago. Good experience with 52 caps for Germany but surely not for us with the type of young, hungry, British players we seem to be going for. -
I like the way that it's Birmingham's transfer embargo that is the reason that they haven't signed him... nothing at all to do with the fact that he's overpriced in terms of transfer fee and salary. Still it's all more spin to keep the deluded going whilst the club slips ever closer to cliff edge of oblivion.
-
No, not the PL bubble or even Harry's bubble but... well sure you'll work it out. Leo Ponzio of River Plate is the player with the 'unfortunate' medical condition!!
-
Not sure that's exactly correct, as can't Birch still sell the club to Chinny without the CVA in place if he deems it's the best offer? Of course that will mean at least a 17 point penalty but then Chinny may not be too worried about that...
-
Perhaps the fee is based on the outcome of the game - we beat them & it's £5m - they beat us it's £6m. Maybe.... Maybe not!

Very good point... Um my question, why are oversea's clubs being included in football creditors? I thought we learnt from last time that overseas clubs were just unsecured creditors?
