I just wonder if they smell some money to be made here.

http://www.arabianbusiness.com/mideast-investors-launch-20m-bid-for-portsmouth-472349.html One question, why buy pompey? Far better clubs you could buy for the same money.
-
So what you're trying to say is that the 250,000 (or however many it was) on Southsea Common that day weren't there to celebrate winning the FA Cup... they were there in protest at the overspending on high wages & transfer fees and calling for fan ownership? Didn't think so.
-
I'm struggling to think of another club that wins, draws or loses with less dignity and grace than them. I trust Appy will now be on a charge of bringing the game into disrepute - more for the phew to whine about!

Seville is a good shout, but if you can get a flight there then Valencia is a great place for a weekend away.

I've read 11 posts of this thread and been reminded why I don't post on the main board much, and only come over for a look every few days. I can't remember anyone saying we needed to sign an entire new squad before the season started - or even after the Man City game. So that comment above (sorry to pick on yours GITR, but it was the last I could be bothered to read) is a reaction from one home game... that is bedwetting whether you like or not.

Mero, So do you honestly believe that in the last few weeks, the trust have bridged the £6m gap between the original budget for paying off your heroes/villains & what Birch has agreed with the players themselves? and that's before you start looking at the other holes in the plan, like the £1.45m you won't get from the council if Chinny is still in town. And will it really feel better in 2 years (try 6 months) if the supporters take over and you nosedive into admin again? How does f*cking it up yourself and ending your own history feel better, surely feeling better is getting the phoenix club going without the millstone of the last few years around its neck?

They are in severe financial do-do. I had a link to the West Ham site West Ham Til I Die which had an interview with David Sullivan which was published on their website around the turn of the year. It has since been pulled, largely I would bet because it painted West Ham in such a bad light... Confirmed the debts at circa £90m Confirmed this seasons season ticket money was spoken for in the same way as the Rangers/Ticketus fiasco. Also stated that they still owed Sheff Utd up to £20m (as best I can recall) for the Tevez affair payable by 2013 Those are the bits that I can remember, there was bit more to it as well. The title, which I do have saved from messaging it to a mate was 'We Were the Most Insolvent Club in the Country'.

So Skysports are driving the protest against Chinny because even SOSPompeii couldn't be bothered yet.... perhaps SOSp weren't sure if Chinny was a hero or a villain at this point or have the natives just given up?
-
Talksport saying rumoured QPR, Stoke & Sunderland have had bids accepted.
-
Talksport reporting that Sebastian Bassong could be on his way from Spurs to Norwich... not sure if he's a player I would want to see Saints going for but might this have an effect on the availability of Dawson?

But hasn't Williamson already been offered a decent contract by Sheffield United, rumour has it that he turned down £3k per week (which is above the L1 average) to join your lot on a monthly contract. Now why would he do that? If he really wanted out to a better club then any agent worth their salt would be able to get release clauses into a new contract. And to say they're semi-untalented - well, that's the point - they're not. They're a better side than you can afford, so don't sign them. You had a team out in midweek so why should you have been allowed to sign anyone on any type of contract? That's what frustrates most of us on here - the only consistency is not from the FL in implementing the rules, but in pompey continually trying to get players they cannot afford.
-
I love the line... No 5hit shurlock!! The administrator has just set a deadline of next week, so just the funds to raise, get the FL to agree the business plan, the players to re-negotiate with as well as getting Chinny to agree to a deal for Fortress Fatpipes. I've already got a pretty good idea of what's going on, as have most on here... not so sure about the PST though!!
-
Except if your name's Ian Black of course! Apparently Danny came off with an injury according to the bbc website, anyone know if he'll be ok for Sunday?
-
Just about.... ...except your in a cesspit that hasn't been cleaned out for years... its deep, your feet can't touch the bottom and you're a long way from the sides... ...and we're about to find out if the PST can swim or if TB has given any swimming lessons!!
-
Surely it means that the money they have right now runs out quicker - and gives the PST even less time to get their act together (hopefully).
-
Sorry, but am I missing something in that report... Total investment (section 5, page 7) = £4,450,000 Total consideration (section 4.4, page 6) = £7,680,002 Okay let's assume they're not going to pay the players sums owed straightaway - the other debts in consideration will need to be paid... and that's still £1.23m more than the investment that they've got!!
-
So special treatment down pompey way = being paid what you are entitled to. Yeah that figures.
-
Can someone tweet him & ask about TBH's image rights... if we play this right, Neil Allen might have a meltdown of POL proportions!!
-
The rumour was that they were trying to sort a deal where by they would extend his contract but at a lower monthly rate so overall he would get the same. But didn't they do that with Kanu previously & that worked well didn't it? Plus LL is on £19k pw so unless he signs a six year contract then they're still overpaying him... ... unless he continues working in the ticket office of course!

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition
Gorgiesaint replied to Jimmy_D's topic in The Saints
Question for anyone who was at the game today - how did Christophe Berra do? (not that I expect us to sign him if he played 67 minutes against us) -
On the assumption that Chinny accepts, sells the ground with the council lending the money, and TB agrees to the PST taking over - let's just take a quick look at their cashflow for the first 60 days: Outgoings: Purchase of Krap Nottarf = £2.75m - £1.5m (loaned by Council confirmed as the max they will lend) = £1.25m CVA payment = £500k Players wages = £2.65m /12 = £220k pm x2 = £440k Non playing staff wages = £1.1m/12 = £92k pm x2 = £184k Total (so far) = £2,374,000 Ok so what income do they have: £1000 'shares' = £200k in deposits assuming 75% take up + won't collect remaining monies in the first 2 months = £150k Associate directors = nothing, they've only just launched this - assume that no-one wanted to put in under the 'share' offer so they've jazzed it up a bit High Net Worth = £750k (already have £630k in escrow, assume target is reached & this is collected) Loan = Already factored in to the outgoings Season ticket sales = 7500 - 400 (lifetime season tickets) = 7100 x £250 = £1.775m Match day income = 5 home fixtures x 4000 x £20 = £400k Total income = £3,075,000 So by back of the fag packet maths they should make it, but this relies on them getting all of the season ticket money up front (not sure if that's going to happen as its didn't last time), not sure what income they will have from the league. But they will have other expenditure that I haven't factored in - e.g. how much will it cost to get Krap Nottarf a safety certificate again this year. The maths looks very, very tight! Of course this assumes: Chinny lets go of the ground Everyone pays up Kanu's court case doesn't go badly The council lend them the money (& quickly) The FL appear to let them get away without paying football creditors 100% of their debt What could possibly go wrong with this!!
-
Other than FMPR, has anyone in with the trust (which FMPR isn't to my knowledge) actually said or even indicated that they'll have a near £4m budget for wages for players? Let's not read too much into the situation too early. Hopefully the council have valued Krap Nottarf at £2m so the trust already need to find another £750k even if the council agree to lend & Chinny agrees to sell - that puts a massive hole in the budget, as would renting the tip if Chinny refuses to sell. That's not to mention Kanu's £3m claim, with lawrence & Kitson still on the books. Still lots of work to be done & I can see another administration looming over the horizon even with a much smaller budget for wages of £4m.

Right so according to the pompey pravda, Voldemort was happy with the pre-season training camp in Spain. One question, why? So there top goalscoring triallist got injured so they're going to have to give him another week. One of their main targets decided to jump as soon as they got back and is now training with Nottingham Forest. At least 2 were deemed surplus to requirements. They still can't sign any of them. They were beaten 5-1 by Brighton. The massive nation of Gibraltar humiliated them 4-0. Sorry Voldemort but what actually went well? I'm assuming that the players managing to erect their tents, catching sufficient squirrels to keep the party fed, Avram not turning up with little Avram looking for naked monkies & not catching scurvy on the fishing boat on the way home must count. Oh & then King Kanu decides he's not giving up his £3m without a fight... legend.
