  1. The next bit should have read... "but we completely failed in that respect as everyone we spoke to just laughed at us so we turned to Andy Awful instead as he's the only person we know who has a worse record than Richie Barker as pompey manager"
  2. Oops, copied and pasted the quotes and forgot they were in white ink!
  3. http://aimacaulayreports.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/relagation-realisation-for-rotten-pompey.html Heading in to Richie Barker's 20th match at League 2's biggest club Away sides now come to Fratton Park knowing that this is their big day out A man with no experience of managing a big club Why are they so obsessed with being a big club? They're 90th in the league, and within a whisker of being out of the relegation spots on goals scored last night. Doesn't strike me as being particularly big. I know that all clubs do it to an extent, we did it when we first dropped into L1 but you soon learn - you're there because that's where you deserve to be. I suppose like managing their finances, they've learnt nothing.
  4. Nice to see that we show some class and lend our facilities to some of the lower league teams playing in the area. I'm sure that when we were in L1 and pompey were riding high in the Premier League that they would have done the same for our opponents. "The park's over there, don't forget to take your coats for use as goalposts, mind the dog5hit and if you need any extra cones then hop over the back fence & steal them from the roadworks on the M275 - nothing like dodging traffic to get the midfield moving!"
  5. Not sure they'll finish bottom but only 10/3 to be relegated... you can still get 9/2 on Skybet
  6. Interesting theory West Stand, certainly fits with many of the known facts and would also explain why the plane made the final left turn southwards & didn't carry on straight into the Indian Ocean (it's effectively circling KL for about 4-5 hours I would guess) assuming that it has flown the southern track. Liking the background to the badger's ass story. As you say, shows how easy it to be misquoted, and how much faith you should put in the press in this country.
  7. Tevez was injured so Osvaldo started for Juventus tonight in Genoa. Not seen the action but played 79 minutes before being substituted. Had the ball in the net twice, once was just offside according the beeb and the second should have been allowed but also given offside. General consensus was that he had a busy first half but pretty quiet in the second, and got replaced by Quagliarella.
  8. Northampton edge another point closer...
  9. Hmm... the Russians have invaded Crimea, Ukraine turning to the west to get them out and the Russians come up with the Americans being responsible for the disappearance of MH370... not sure I'll go with that one just at the moment (not that I wouldn't put it past the Americans). That said, should we read anything into the fact that the freighter was registered in Norfolk - assuming that's Norfolk, Virginia, is that not where the US navy is based? How much commercial shipping goes through there as well?
  10. Fine effort by Olly Lancashire tonight. Sent off for Rochdale who then see bottom of the table Torquay beat them 2-1 to close in on #lowlypompey. Good to see all these ex-Saints doing their bit for the cause!
  11. Interesting theory on this site as well. http://mh370lost.tumblr.com/?og=1 That said, if the plane continued flying the you and crossed Malaysia, you would expect another plane to pick up where it is. If it has crossed west and continued flying then it could be anywhere in the Indian Ocean.
  12. I'm not going to get into full blown discussion but you're comment includes the part " I can see our current management bottling that tie the minute our ball came out of the draw." Not sure what part of that is pompey related? Anyway, I asked politely so back to topic. Haha, thanks Tamesaint, hadn't realised they missed a pen as well. Isn't Molyneux penalty taker as well?
  13. Please stop trying to turn every thread into an anti-MoPo one. This is a sanctuary from the main board so please keep Saints stuff over there where I can ignore the lot of you still moaning about a team selection that took place a month ago. Thank you. Did I hear right, a Lee Molyneux hat-trick for Accrington today? And also that Accrington went down to 10 men whilst they were 2 up, puts a little context into Monday's cup final result.
  14. For a moment I thought you were suggesting #lowlypompey were actually going to spend the PP's on what they are supposed to be spent on.....
  15. I view Fonte as a Claus Lundekvam character. As a second centre half to a very dominant centre back then he's ok - Lovren is today's Michael Svensson. Together they're fine as one is doing the organising, with a weaker CB then Fonte/Lundekvam loses out. Remember how may touches Claus took before clearing it off the line, yet alongside Svensson they became one of the best CB partnerships we've had in recent times. Lescott is too old and slow for us, and would be too expensive. Grant Hanley - are you serious? Have you actually seen him play? He makes Danny Fox look like a fully fledged international left back.
  16. Why the furore? This has been in place for several years at Old Trafford. You buy a season ticket which includes all home league games but one of the conditions is that you have to buy all FA Cup and Champions League home games as well. You can opt out of the League Cup. As a fan, you know you're going to have to pay for the additional tickets - the club can't charge up front as they don't know how long they'll be in the competition. I didn't hear too many fans complaining when they were guaranteed tickets for Champions League semi-finals.
  17. Either that, or he's just covering his own backside. Point wise, they didn't need that much to get them into the top half, he just hasn't delivered. Let's face it, if he hadn't pushed Connolly out on loan (to a club that has a chance of promotion this season) the goals he's scored would have them in the top half of the table. Either way long may it continue.
  18. I did take a look at the Adidas website a couple of days ago... couldn't see any Saints kit on there. That said, they don't show many teams other than Spain, Germany, the big clubs from those countries and Ajax...
  19. When I was at uni, I can remember travelling to Hereford on a Tuesday night to watch them play Hartlepool - there were 8 fans & 5 police in the away end that night. It happens at that level (even for cup finals).
  20. The reason Chambers is still in the u19's squad is that this is the final warm up game before the Euro Championship qualifiers and Chambers is captain of that team, so wouldn't make any sense to move your captain at this stage before a tournament. Had it been a meaningless friendly then I would have expected him to move up to the u21's IMO.
  21. make it 5 then!! Oh and David Connolly starting and scoring again for Oxford. He could do a job for them!
  22. And we'll see if those email addresses still exist after #lucklesspompey lose their next game at fatpipes... given the amount of abuse that will be sent through, somehow I doubt it.
  23. Thank goodness someone has summed it up in two lines. Top post.
  24. Accrington 2 Scunny 3. See a certain Lee Molyneux scored the first for Accrington - how far we've come (and the skates have fallen)!
  25. Accrington 2 up against Scunny, helps move them away from pompey.
