  1. Interesting read about the continued development of a true fan-owned club. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32787590 But no it cannot be true... but at least they're not the bestest. And they're only two divisions below pompey now.
  2. If anyone is interested, Nigel Adkins is joining Mark Saggers on the evening show tonight from 8pm on Talksport.
  3. That'll teach me for skim reading at the end of my lunch break and trying to post whilst running out of time. You're right on this VectisSaint, makes sense if they can hold his registration for another year without having to pay him. They might make a few bob if someone is stupid enough to sign him. Blackpool are still a basket case club whilst the Oyston's are in charge mind!!
  4. Couldn't find the original thread, even checked the Muppet Show as probably more likely to be in there given the player involved! Unbelieveably, the basket case club that is Blackpool have extended his contract for a year, even though he hasn't been there since December! And I'm sure the attached article from the will make your heart bleed as pleads poverty. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32794959 http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/blackpool-fc/nile-ranger-blackpool-took-the-mick-out-of-me-1-7222281 I think you've taken the mick out of football Nile.
  5. David Marshall. Also Allan McGregor is only on the bench at Hull. Also surprising that Thomas Sorensen is down the order at Stoke, but is he just a bit to old? (That said, I would have taken Brad Friedel even at 43 had he not retired)
  6. If Robert Green is the answer.... ... what the hell is the question? Surely not who should start next season in goal....
  7. And it's not like it's his last game for the club.... it's his last home game. Can they drag it out another week?
  8. He'll fit in well, thinking once is more than enough to put most sensible people off.
  9. Actually I think it would be a decent signing for them and I'm not a Dani Alves fan. The problem that United have had is that they have for last 15 years or so replaced their centre backs as a pair - you had Bruce/Pallister, then Stam/Johnsen, followed by Vidic/Ferdinand. It should have been followed by Chris Smalling and Phil Jones but neither has come up to scratch. It means they're likely to have a fairly inexperienced centre back partnership - likely to be Daley Blind + one other. Alves will provide some much needed experience at the back (provided he's not on all out attack!)
  10. Independent saying that he will go to United and it will be sorted next week http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/memphis-depay-to-manchester-united-signing-of-psv-forward-set-to-kickstart-louis-van-gaals-latest-spending-spree-10233595.html
  11. Don't forget he's up against Klass Jan Huntelaar in trying to get in that Wolfsburg team, he was very much back up until Huntelaar got a 6 match ban in January when Dost went on his scoring run. To be honest, would take either of them.
  12. Not seen that much of Song this season, but he seemed to do ok with Barcelona. Is he getting caught in possession because he can't assess his options quick enough, or is he getting caught in possession because he doesn't have any options?
  13. I quite liked Sailingmagpie's "Maybe Hull charged the Liverpool fans more because their massive sense of entitlement takes up more room? Badum tish"
  14. Danny Kelly on Talksport nailed it for me. Pearson has tried to deflect criticism of himself as a manager, of which there has been plenty, as criticism of the players, of which there's been very little. Whether he's done that deliberately or there's just been a misunderstanding, I don't know.
  15. Sterling joined Liverpool when he was 15 as well, he came through the QPR academy.
  16. Thing is, Matt Ritchie never looked that good when he was there. Look what some decent coaching can do...
  17. Well done to Bournemouth - fully deserved after the football they've played this season.
  18. Ah well, at least if they can't challenge us in the football over the next few years, there is a new sport that they may turn their hands to that we know some are good at down there.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-32247516
  19. Didn't he only play because he sponsored the shirts?
  20. I can just see it now at the last home game of the season... the whole Northam end wearing red Mexican Wrestling masks singing that...
  21. 20/22 - got the Everton & Wimbledon one's wrong
  22. Interesting piece on the BBC site this evening about where Klopp will go... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32318754 Not one of the big clubs in Europe is rated at more than 5/10 chance (which is assuming Luis Enrique gets sacked at Barcelona). Just shows that there's not that much available so if we had a vacancy, I'm sure he would seriously consider us. Except we won't have a vacancy...
  23. Just listening to the Press Pass on Talksport. Matt Scott was asked to comment about Redknapp being in the media this week and said he should "just shut up" and that no-one was interested. Paddy Barclay thought it was a bit harsh but could see where he coming from. The media losing their love-in with Harry? and SotonJoe... you are joking right? Redknapp admitted his heart wasn't in the job after about a week, and basically gave up. Listen to the players who said they were sent out with no tactical instructions.
  24. I know that they are having to move some of the existing season ticket holders in the main stand as they are having to expand the media facilities. Cannot see a ground share happening, as someone said earlier, if Blackpool were allowed to play with their dump then Bournemouth will be fine with Dean Court. Extending capacity is another matter, but if they had any sense, they'll have been planning for most of the season to get something sorted quickly over the summer (which it appears they have been doing judging by that BBC report from November).
  25. So the bestest went on a 600 mile round trip to support just under a dozen talentless misfits, and ended up getting more entertained by a group of 40 something, fat blokes with no sense of music or timing. Says a lot about the quality of the football and the average pompey fan... ... but of course they much prefer it to being in the Premier League.
