  1. Thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated. It is in other media outlets because I had to send it out with work as well as on my blog, I just knew I would not be able to post as much stuff if it went out in separate stories. Expect to see his quotes on Adam Lallana on TeamTalk and such in the coming hours. I’ll be posting more Saints-related features on my blog in the coming days, weeks and months.
  2. Aye, that pretty much sums him up. Top guy and seemed genuinely interested in Saints still. I tried to ask him as many questions as I could that weren't the same old stuff. Obviously I'd love him to have told me in detail each and every one of his goals but, as you said, he'll have been asked that hundreds of times before!
  3. Well, turns out Matt called quicker than I expected so was unable to check back on the site. Sorry for that. However, I asked about as many Saints-related things that were relevant and have written in a Q&A format here: http://simonpeach.tumblr.com/ He said some interesting stuff on Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert & Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as well as old boys Theo and Bale.
  4. I am fortunate enough to have 15 minutes with the legend that is Matt Le Tissier at 3pm today, so I was wondering whether there was any questions you would like me to put to the big man?
  5. For what it's worth, here's my two pence worth on yesterday's game: http://simonpeach.tumblr.com/ It's a fairly new blog on football in general but I'm planning to upload some more Saints-related stuff soon, including an interview with Steve Moran and a piece with Les Reed on the new look youth format.
  6. Terrible news; a truly sad day. This man did as much as any person in the football club's history and he will never be forgotten. RIP Markus and danke schön.
  7. The club needs to wake up and stop backing itself into a corner. Next they'll produce just one match report and make that available through the club? Or to media organisations for a fee, of course.
  8. I worked with the guy who wrote this article for a couple of years and I know he has very strong contacts within Doncaster. He knows all the players and staff so wouldn't write the story if it was not based on fact.
  9. Now he's added: "guys telling me they hear im going to other teams. havnt heard anything personally. U have some links lemme know." Sounds like we just need to tell him to come and he'll do it.
  10. @Hypochondriac1 had the same idea as me and contacted him on Twitter to find an answer. His response: "havnt heard anything"
  11. Looks like former Saints fullback and part-time racist Jelle van Damme is returning to England to ply his trade at Wolves. While an ex-player moving is not massive news, it looks like our coffers will be boosted by up to 15% of the transfer fee, according to the Express & Star (http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/2010/05/26/van-dammes-wolves-move-held-up/). It's not groundbreaking news, but at least it is Saints-related news.
  12. Which is true, but they have a decent core to the squad and are making one or two wily acquisitions. Although they are obviously more like to be play-off contenders rather than challengers for automatic.
  13. Yeah, that is a slight problem. It reminds me a bit of Aidy Boothroyd, though. Got a feeling they could have a Watford-esque season under him.
  14. One team that I reckon may do alright is MK Dons, who seem to be putting a good side together. They've just signed Lewis Guy and my sources tell me that Dietmar Hamann is signing for them tomorrow.
  15. Having watched all three relegated sides on several occasions throughout the season I can confirm that none of them are any good. Peterborough may have Johnson now, but they have a dearth of talent in their squad. Plymouth have lost Jamie Mackie leaving them with Bradley Wright-Phillips to lead the line. Nuff said on that one. While Wednesday have a few decent players, but are haemorrhaging money so I cannot see them maintaining their current squad. All in all, with a couple of decent signings we should walk this league...
  16. When working at S****horpe v Bristol City today I started chatting to the fella next me in the press box. Turns out we were working for the same company and we got talking about football and, ultimately (as always with me), Southampton. To my surprise, he told me how he came through the youth system, played there for quite few years and was, low and behold, Steve Moran. For somebody of my tender years you can't blame me for not recognising him, but I know what he did for the club. The 1984 FA Cup game is one of my YouTube favourites. For those interested, he lives near Hull nowadays and covers Scunny every Saturday, while doing some of the hospitality stuff at Hull City. He obviously still keeps up with goings-on at Saints, though, and was very positive about our future. To my delight, he also recited endless anecdotes about his time with us and seemed to recall every goal he'd ever netted in immaculate detail. As a result, I'm going to do a piece with him about his time at Saints so if you have any questions for him please fire away and I'll do my best to get an answer. And on a side note, he was full of praise for striker Gary Hooper, who netted a hat-trick today. He obviously knows what he is talking about when it comes to scoring, so maybe he'd be worth a look at for next season?
  17. I was never saying that, not alluding to it. It effects us because we are playing them on Saturday. My comments were purely based on the fact that are opponents are going into administration three days before we face them. Do you not think that will have an effect on performance, morale and such like? Surely that is Saints related.
  18. Pretty sure you'll find playing your arch rival at the weekend who happen to be going into administration that same week is Saints related.
  19. My bad. Do as you wish.
  20. Should Portsmouth’s talks with Inland Revenue continue to stall, the club will almost certainly enter administration tomorrow or Thursday morning. By doing so they protect themselves from being wound-up and can continue to operate as a going concern. It is their best case scenario but they would have to take a points hit, despite rumours to the contrary. It’s going to be an interesting build-up to the big game this weekend...
  21. i love you len wilkins almost as much as avram loves thai massages!
  22. Unfortunately it is not as easy as just popping on the train and standing outside the ticket office on a Thursday morning for most. I work in East Yorkshire. A train alone would cost nigh-on £120 quid. Plus, when you call from a mobile it is not free. Hence why I've already spent £15 to listen to some annoying geezer and terrible music that makes Sidney Samson sound like a Grammy Award-nominee. This ticket system is a farce. Granted Liebherr and co have had other parts of the infrastructure to sort out since coming to town but this should be high in the agenda after today. And if I don't get a ticket I too will hunt down the automated voice man and string him up by his...
  23. This is what I'm starting to think. I have called a lot more than I care to admit and have not once got a whiff of an operator. Surely they must just be serving those in the queue?
  24. I don't think I'll know what to do if and when I get through to speak to a human. I've turned into a machine pressing 'redial' and '2'
  25. Told you :smt023 http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=19156&highlight=seaborne
