  1. No way should Ings be getting another season in our first team. So injury prone he completely kills any chance of us getting any consistency in the attacking third. Two weeks in and one week out, two weeks out and one week in. And when he is in sometimes he is really good, but more often he isn't. We can do far better. I thought he was on loan with a 20M option to buy?
  2. One of those end of season games where one side is far more up for it than the other. I am hoping we are the former and get the job done. Fraser will be a worry all afternoon regardless. Hope Boruc gets a good reception.
  3. We won't go down, but we will be shorter than 150/1 before we are safe.
  4. Enjoyed that. Wasn't expecting anything from the game and expected West Ham to roll over too, so really valuable 3 points to keep us out of the drop zone over the short close season. Kevin Friend really played his part for Spurs today - gave them nearly everything they appealed for and nearly all the 50/50's and denied us stonewallers. The Sims kick in the head was a red card and a penalty, the the Armstrong trip was a red too. Other way around I have no doubt we would have been down to 9. Just wanted to focus on the Dickwad of a ref as usually its just seems an excuse for losing - but we won. And so I am sticking it to the ref anyway. Great free kick from Prowsey. Watching Friends shoulders drop was priceless.
  5. I think Cardiff will win, because West Ham, and we'll get beat and be back in the bottom three. I do fancy us to finish about 6 points ahead of Cardiff though. They really are **** and it's shocking how we have given them six points. In reality with that 12 point swing we should really have been 20 points clear of them end of season.
  6. Hope we were resting Armstrong because he is decent and needs a run in the side. Great result - though share concerns about toothless forward line. Maybe Austin can step up and Ings can somehow be fit for a while. Still reckon its a straight fight between us and the chronically chronic Cardiff City. Lots of work needed over the summer if we stay up.
  7. Stephens needs a rest. His confidence is shot to ribbons.
  8. Result was par but Arsenal put the car in neutral after 20 minutes. Bigger picture, we just need to finish above Cardiff. If we can't do that we deserve to go down. The players should be embarrassed they did the double over us. Massively damaging. I thought Bamba and Morrisson were comfortably going to be the worst Centre halves in the Prem this eason. Step forward Hoedt and Stephens. It's going to be tight.
  9. Two weeks off and Arsenal away next just rammed home how spectacularly careless it was to allow Cardiff to do the double over us. Now we have Aubameyang and and Lacazette up against our wobbly defence at the Emirates and Shane 'barn door' Long as our only goal threat. Behind the sofa would be a good place to watch this one. Bring on Fulham.
  10. Was at the game. Better than the Leicester experience last year, but still a game where we were beaten at half time. The JWP penalty was the critical moment. They usually get given, arm over the shoulder from behind - even Halsey thought it should have been given. But this was against City in front of their fans so the ref took the easy route. Coward. I think we will be OK under Ralph. We may well spend a bit more time in the bottom three before the season is out, but you only need a good two or three results on the bounce to pull right away and gain confidence, and I think we are capable of that. I think that City game was Moi's last chance. He did OK but he isn't offering quite enough and may be out in January.
  11. Most sickening sight at the Versace yesterday afternoon was a couple of Skate fans telling everyone who would listen about how he won them the FA Cup. One of them had the bloody shirt on as well. I can forgive Harry - he was great on the show - but their fans are always such utter bell ends.
  12. Again. Again. Again. Again. Get fit and hope for a Miracle.
  13. Not down yet - a long way to go yet. Time for Ralph to get it sorted. He needs to be backed in the January window though to sort out the centre back issues. Stephens and Yoshi are just about good enough for the PL but they should be back up. Vest and Hoedt are both shocking and need to go play reserves for a while before being offloaded. Just hope we are not too far adrift before Ralph gets his guys bedded in. Need to pick up a few points here and there over Christmas.
  14. Hasn't watched a movie since the sixties? He can't read either so what does he do with his spare time? Ebay? I had a nice 5 minute chat with Noel yesterday - so it's not out of the question I will be able to get 5 minutes with Harry once they have turfed him out. Any amusing banter you would like me to impart?
  15. Wouldn't be surprised to see Kane rested with Barcelona up next week. Especially as I have just brought him into my fantasy team.
  16. Looks like Ross Wilson has been moved across to cover the 'Director of Football Operations' role left vacant by Les then. Leaving 'Director of Scouting and Recruitment' open for Mitchell if he wants it. Ross Wilson has got off very lightly in this restructure given his part in the decline of the past two/three years. The signing of VVD was a nice job but since then that has looked more and more a case of a blind squirrel finding a nut.
  17. Was coming. One of the biggest disappointments of his tenure was a seeming inability to have any impact on games as they progressed.
  18. No way Hoedt or Austin should start this one on their dreadful recent form. Cedric against Martial and Fellaini on the back post is also asking for trouble, so might be Bednarek time too.
  19. The way Ward-Prowse holds his left arm up before floating dead balls into the keepers arms is starting to grind my gears a bit.
  20. If we could attract Wenger it would be madness not to.
  21. Can't see us winning this one either, or the next one. Something has to change. Games we are not expected to get anything, we no longer get anything. Games we should be getting something, we still don't get anything. Might as well give the youngsters another shot and leave out the failure specialists. Cedric, Hoedt and Austin for a start.
  22. Anyone seen that bit in Master and Commander when the Jonah jumps over the side?
  23. Cedric probably leads the Saints 'individual errors' league table. And with Hoedt around, that's a mighty achievement. I have lost count of the number of times he has been beaten at the far post leading to a goal. Also provides next to nothing going forward, no goals and just 10 assists over the past 4 seasons. And yet is almost ever present. Unbelievable from the club.
  24. The difference between Hughes and Ranieri is huge. Ranieri told his team to get crosses in to Mitrovic because he would feast on it. And he did. That's a solid tactical call. Meanwhile the tactical advice given to our team by Hughes was - well what exactly? Does he have a clue what he is doing game to game?
  25. Mitchell would be good. Proven to have a better eye for a signing than the chronically chronic Wilson. And he could probably tidy up Vestergaard and Gabbiadini's barnets as well.
