The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread
wightman35 replied to supersonic's topic in The Saints
Did you forget to put the smiley thing in? One of these, perhaps:- or or even -
Don't worry, I am serious, I do live a long way from Southampton (and the IOW!) and I do have a clue. Nor do I try to make offensive comments about other posters views!!
-
I meant to add WIFM.

I am concerned that this whole affair (whatever the rights and wrongs of press photographers being banned from SMS) will prove to be a distraction from the necessity of winning football matches. Of course the media are going ballistic, not because Cortese has taken this action, but because they fear that Premier sides will think it is a good idea and adopt that policy. After all, Nobody expects to take photos for free in a Theatre. OK, that's not quite the same as footie! I am far more interested in the team, the tactics, the new signings (?) and the results. At the moment the loss of ML and concern for his family and friends takes priority. Let us not all fall out over what a friend of mine once in refering to a particular newspaper, termed "Pernicious Literature."

Yep! You were right about them all along. CHEATS.

Markus Liebherr RIP. All tributes here please.

Thank you, Markus for saving our Club from oblivion. I hope that we can all live up to your principles and that Saints can achieve the ambition that you set out, as a fitting memorial. Will never forget you. RIP. -
Yes. Especially as the administrator seems to have forgotten that "Abusive behaviour is not welcome."
-
Yes they have, as predicted by many on this thread. Toast? You have got to be joking. Teflon, maybe.

We've already gone up 4 places without even kicking a ball!!

The trouble is that the rest are RUNNING! -
Best news of the week! Shame it was announced after my bedtime. Nothing personal from the OS I hope.
-
Well done Nickh for being right all along 630 pages of wishful thinking. Further evidence of the falseness of my parents claim when I was small (long time ago!) that "Cheats never prosper." It seems that the HMRC counsel fluffed this one from what I have read, by not focussing on the specifics but making it general and complicated. In my inexpert opinion that allowed the tear jerking appeal by the Admin's QC to take advantage of the Judge. I thought that the Judge was only able to consider whether or not specific rules had been broken. So much for British "Fair Play."

Well, that is reliable info then. Thanks! and a smiley thing. -
I like that! Perhaps it is even better put that Villa reserves, including Shorey, Cueller etc are as good as our under 21's.
-
Our reserves are as good as Villa reserves?

With reference to my post earlier, (29,026 on page581!) I can see why the football creditors voted the CVA, but not the really unsecured creditors unless they can set their losses against tax on other income/profits. After all 4p in the pound this year is really a joke, imo.
-
Weston Saint (post 55) and your comments sum it up nicely. Without Cortese we would not have Liebherr, I am told, so that is worth my vote.
-
The only reason I can think of (and I apologise if this has already been discussed earlier in the thread.) is that those who thought 4p in the Pound was good enough are Poopey fanatics, or they hope to write off their losses as Tax deductable against other earnings. I don't know for sure if that is tax allowable! Somebody on here will. That would mean HMRC, (you and me effectively!) picking up the tab.
-
Micky has said it and I agree entirely with his comments. Thank you Markus and Nicola.

Excellent news! I do like the way that Saints conduct their business discretely and we no longer seem to have weeks of speculation, followed too often with disappointment. I ought to feel sorry for those clubs whose decent/ top players we extract, I suppose: but, I don't as we have had plenty of being on the wrong end of such deals. Lets hope we keep our sought after players this season to make sure of that "Top Spot."
-
After umpteeen years of bad news regarding Saints, until one year ago, it is hard to believe the old adage that " No news is Good News." Where is our new RB(or 2), Mid fielder, Back-up for RL? Indeed, as DLT says, "Where is AP?" I am still patient and hopeful, but getting very slightly stressed!
-
They say that patience is a virtue, so we may have to wait a little longer!

SaintsWeb Offline from approx 7pm - now back online!

I have to agree with the sentiments of Saint Lard; post173 and TDD earlier. Preferred the look of the site before Sunday's reforms (Sorry to those who have obviously worked hard to upgrade/modernise or whatever) and don't think the site now has the same ambience! Above all, had to enter my password and had it rejected. I was sure I knew the right one, but being a dinosaur, I expect that it was my fault not the system. Any rate after 24 hrs of trying to enter a new one, I can now relax and browse my favourite website (albeit with a need for sunglasses I think). Oh, now Ill have to change my gobbledigook password for one I might remember. Now to the OS to see the latest signings! -
NC and company do not seem to like things going public too soon. The injury probably conjured up images of busy treatment rooms, as with Wayne Thomas, Graham Murty, Powell etc. Still reckon we will get the right person for the right back position.
