  1. I am with you on this. All on the 'bus!
  2. I think that this will be a tough one for us, but I am usually wrong. Beware of Mr Hill; he who is liberal with his red and yellow cards. Yeovil fans are not too keen on him, I read!
  3. Like where to put a full stop?
  4. Radio Solent News this morning reported that Portsmouth topped the league for crime reported last December.
  5. IMO, St Charlie's opening post was spot on. We were understood to have placed some "substantial offers" for players to enhance the team, but it does seem unlikely that Peterborough (CMG) or Huddersfield would have been likely to sell us their best players for realistic prices. Clearly Saints were not willing to pay "Silly Money." I picked up an article on "Newsnow" earlier today from TUI and I apologise if this has already been discussed, but it listed 12 points to follow in building a successful team. The idea apparently is of American origin, but nevertheless I felt it made sense. Just wondering if NC has a similar plan to that; especially not paying too much.
  6. If Josh Wright was at the Charlton Academy, then he should be on the radar of our Head of Development I would think. He seems in the above interview to like Adkins too. You never know what can happen at our Club......
  7. Not unless we pick their noses.
  8. I have been on the bus ever since Nigel arrived in the building and it is still only three points at the end of the day. Fantastic!
  9. Apologies for the small edit.
  10. Agreed!
  11. Having been at Old Trafford for what seems like "ever" he must be doing something right. Just hope it all goes pear shaped for him on Jan 29/30th weekend!
  12. Perhaps Ian Holloway would like to loan Matt Phillips to us for the rest of the Seasom?
  13. Happy New Year time all right. Well done the management; brilliant deal with A.L. and convincing win today. I am starting to believe those confident posters who have long claimed that, "We will win this League!" Tuesday night might show how likely.
  14. What a wonderful day we have had. Lallana signs long term contract and a revised Saints team selection get outstanding win over Premiership Club. (Good Job Ian Holloway made his excuses earlier in the week:)). Also, a dysfunctional club down the M27 collected a handful of yellow and a red card as well as exit from this competition. What a bright New Year!
  15. The old Pirelli Works site was talked about as the new sitadium site years ago, but in forum times it was Stoneham that had all the discussions.
  16. The original Charlie Wayman was my boyhood hero and a great centre forward, who seemed to know a great deal about football.
  17. No, it's too cold!
  18. Of course, we don't believe that money had anything to do with it, do we? We can expect the "Panorama" allegations to be firmly refuted, for sure. Did the Brummie performance after the Carling Cup really reduce our vote to TWO?
  19. After the war, when my Dad first took me to see the Saints (Still "War League South" if i remember correctly!) The journey from Royal Pier to Civic Centre by tram passed bombed sites all the way and walking on past the Polygon there was plenty more evidence. The very interesting map shows just why. Thanks for posting the link to that. When Southampton's Air Defences got too hot for Jerry, it appeared that he emptied his bombs over Cowes; we spent many a night in the Shelter while Dad was on Civil Defence.if not night shift shift at work.
  20. I think that you are absolutely right about this.
  21. A brace of goals from Ricky on Saturday and Dave Merrington will implant an incisive comment on the airwaves. We will soon be scaling new heights now that the team has more bite.
  22. One of our most painful memories, indeed!
  23. So we will need three!
  24. A young George Best in a cup tie at the Dell. MLT of course, Stan Matthews when ancient for Stoke and Raich Carter for Hull also when well past his star quality both at the Dell.
  25. Put yourself in the manager's situation. What would YOU say to make the interview original, coherent, concise and positive? Not easy! I like N.A.'s responses.
