Agreed. I wish Rupert no ill will, but I hope that he keeps a five mile exclusion zone from SMS, along with MW. Silence from LM would be welcome too....all IMHO, of course>
-
All in a very worthy cause, then. Keep up the good work.

Regular, convincing wins in style and they will have bigger crowds!
-
We ars also starting on minus Lowe and Wilde!

An earlier poster on this thread commented on the success LC has had in making the Lymington Precision Engineering firm into a "World Beater." If this is the case then Leon might well be a useful commercial Director, but I share the hope of many posters that he would not be entitled to make Public Announcements. Should we be suspicious as to why Radio Solent came to "UNDERSTAND" this prediction? Who was "THE SOURCE?" Perhaps an honorary role like Life Vice President might have been less controversial!

There was a film based on a story by Graham Greene, which I hope would not be a prediction..................... "The End Of The Affair" Unless it referred to the completion of a deal to buy the Club.

Just like you, TDD, we are all in the middle of nowhere. Unlike your good self, we are under the water without the benefit of a boat to keep us dry. It is good, however, to read you on here again.

"Gone With The Wind." Well there has been a lot of hot air surrounding the Takeover these last few days/weeks /years. p.s. Who was that guy looking out of the "Groundhog" posters. Surely not Rupert?

With saints luck the tree would get a lightning strike!

Thunderstorms forecast for Friday, I hear. Best to keep under cover.

QI to be our new manager???????

Although I may be getting old and forgetfull, I seem to remember that when we fell out of the Premiership and down to "The Championship" ( still 2nd Division in my book), many people felt "We'll walk this league!" and " It is going to be a doddle." Let's not fall for that trap this time. Saints will be the team all the others will want to whack and unless our lot are well organised and motivated from the start to finish we could have a rough time. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to a new season with a reinforced team and a host of wins to secure and maybe promote the club.:):)

Why the fuss about being called a peasant? Useful people who toil away tilling the soil, caring for livestock and paying their rent, they are not renowned for amassing huge debts. Much better than being called "failed chairman" or "banker"(spelling?) in my opinion.
-
If they are that wealthy, we can rule out the Isle of Wight, then! That will narrow our search.:D:D:D
-
Good idea, that. Please can I add my X here now!:)

They are all History. It is no use harking back. Lets keep some of our promising youngsters and reinforce with some cheap hard cases; especially a big centre forward who knows where the goal is!

The "Inform Mark Fry: Lowe, Askham return is unacceptable" thread
wightman35 replied to eelpie's topic in The Saints
So very true! The trouble is, Fry has to get the best deal for the creditors. Just hope that the best successful bid avoids including any of the pariahs. -
Is it a good idea to support a splinter club?
wightman35 replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
:confused:We can't really compare our situation with AFC Wimbledon. I think their supporters felt their club had been nicked and transported off to M Keynes. We may well believe that our club has been misappropriated in recent times but if it survives it will still be Saints. Should the unspeakable happen (Eight days time was mentioned in the press.) then a new AFC Saints could be our only choice. -
This could be the ultimate "This Friday" story; the climax of a two year saga! The difference is that this time if there is no deal done, I'm afraid we will be busted. Fingers crossed and it will be:D, rather than  Please may it not involve RL, GA, ETC.

If we have a club after the end of the month (and that is still a BIG if in my opinion) I hope the new incumbents will have read some of the sensible posts above. We certainly need a change from the "methods" used since Strachan left.

My Dad took me to see Saints play Brentford. It was the War League South I believe it was called. Must have been after the war, 1946 I think before the leagues were reformed and crossing from the IOW was quite an event. I loved the red and white from then on, but watched Cowes more often: lots of former Saints! We beat Brentford by the way that day.
-
Well, you found me out there! Thanks anyway.

Ideally, we need to win our next five games. After that, the palpitations might ease off.........

You are right. I share your hopes, but it is, as the saying goes; "the triumph of hope over experience."
