  1. Well argued GS. We need to remember that we have looked into the abyss and even a week ago, survival was not certain. Now, for the first time in years, something promising has HAPPENED to us. As I did not spend any money (Don't have spare!) to buy Saints, I will support the decisions of the person who has paid up for us to have a Team. By the way, I think Alpine has been right more often than some of us give him credit for.
  2. Agreed. My only regret is that MLT gave Pinnacle some credability, but as you rightly say,"Who cares," let's move on!
  3. We can but hope.
  4. Your concern about the possible (surely not) appointment of Adams as Saints manager will be shared by all genuine fans. IMO the worst choice: prefer Branfoot even. Oh, do be careful where you put your tongue, young man!:smt058
  5. For those who cannot get to games because of distance, ill health, or age and infirmity, it would be a chance to confirm a sense of belonging to the fold. If, however, the cost outweighed the income, that would defeat the object of the thing. That's why I am a "Don't Know," and have not voted.
  6. More than a bit; totally so.
  7. YES. But I don't think every poster will share your and my view! :smt073:smt073:smt073:smt073:smt073
  8. Lets hope Markus does not try too many spuds and turnips on his new allotment at SMS.
  9. Many thanks for coming to our rescue. You are most welcome. We hope you will help restore us to our position as "Pride Of The South." "Loving life in the South." Sorry; I've been listening to too much Radio Solent for 96 or so days of admin.
  10. .....and that made me laugh even more!
  11. Absolutely agree with this and with Hamster post29. As said, MLT may have made an error of judgement. Maybe it is best that he will not be Chairman of the Club- new owners, new beginning; onwards and upwards!
  12. Good point. Nobody is indispensable!
  13. I cannot think of any available Manager who would be within the Saints price range and who would at the same time satisfy ALL the fans/supporters. As ML has paid the money and I have not, I do not feel it is my right to tell him who to choose, but I would guess he will seek opinions from experienced advisers. Meanwhile, as MW is our current Manager; he has my full current support. For the moment!
  14. You are so right, but today we can all be happy. The reality is that survival at league 1 this Season will be acceptable, yet I am as always in July "optimistic" and maybe with the impetus of this renaissance of the Club we will even with-10 get a play off.
  15. Please Doctor, I am addicted to reading the Saits Web Forum takeover Gossip.........
  16. Good bye Tony. Thanks, but NO, thanks.
  17. It was a shame that MLT was mislead on the quality of that bid, but he is still a hero and legend. Pinnacle is all in the past now so lets FORGET them and enjoy the day. Welcome Markus.
  18. This thread will soon exceed the takeover gossip threads in pages- and it is so exciting! Even when lots of us rise to the taunts of idiots from you know where............
  19. The takeover.....not MLT on ssn!
  20. AUSGEZEICHNET! Just the news we have all been waiting for.
  21. Well said washsaint! Could the good times be coming our way at last?
  22. Let us hope that the deal is finally done without the new owners borrowing the money with the club assets as collateral (eg MU or Lpool?). It will be/would be good to have owners who nurture rather than drain the Club,IMO.
  23. Ha! That's as funny as Nickfinks above and that made me spill my tea too. MB's photo much appreciated! As a pensioner, I should behave I suppose, but we have had 94 days of suspense.
  24. Seconded! Could they keep it secret? Workers expect to be kept in the dark and..................
