  1. It was tangible. Having gone two down, did anyone in the entire ground believe we were going to claw it back?
  2. Schneiderlin, Lallana, Lambert, Shaw, Clyne, Aldereiweld.
  3. Pulls made an interesting comment about Spurs on the radio last week. He noted that since Tottenham press the ball, they can become very narrow and concentrated on one side of the pitch so WBA practised all week on switching play as quickly as possible to the opposite side of the pitch to exploit the space. Well,we don't move the ball quickly and we don't have Scheneiderlin's long diagonal passes but I think there's probably some merit in the tactic.
  4. Playing narrow.
  5. Maybe he doesn't fit the way Tottenham play.
  6. I don't know why this guy bothers.

I feel the same way to the extent that I've been slightly surprised how many we've won. "Playing out of a good organisation" is the mantra. Could apply equally to Man United. I much preferred watching under Pochettino, but then I prefer possession football and I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.
  8. Not saying you're not right about this but I'd thought the owner had converted at least some debt to equity, so that she'd get her money back when the club is sold.
  9. Gave me a laugh actually. Romeo Romeo wherefore art thou Romeo. Resting my @rse on yonder bench. Tis but thy name that is my enemy.
  10. So here's some good news. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
  11. Tall.
  12. History tells me we won it.
  13. It's a better answer than I was expecting.
  14. What do you mean by lightweight?
  15. Two Brewers in Gloucester Rd is the best one I've been to. They won't let you in with colours though.
  16. I don't remember the MK Dons game. What happened?
  17. We've barely seen Juami and I'm not sure why. The chance he had yesterday, which was well saved, suggests he's got something we need more of up front. And you don't get in the Spain team if you're a mug. Like to see him get more game time. Seen more on Romeu and liked him from the start. Again, I'm not sure why we haven't seen more of him.
  18. Seriously?
  19. Stop Bolassie and Zaha and we'll get at least a point.
  20. Villa got lucky in that respect. Should have been 2 up in the first few minutes. Could have been 3 or 4 up by half time. I think this thread is unduly pessimistic, this result coming on the back of the Liverpool defeat and Villa being crap. Poor finishing not helped by fragile confidence. Contrast with Liverpool's finishing from a side high on confidence. A word on the ref. Why didn't he at least book the Villa player that pulled back Pelle when through on goal? Should have been a yellow minimum. Finally the blatant time wasting. Ok the ref booked Guzan but it was far too late to have had any impact. We see it every week at SMS. A new angle from the Villa, the fake head injury which gives the ref little option but to stop the game.
  21. Probably Andy Townsend who desperately wants Villa to win, but doesn't think they. Or it could have been Pat Whatisname, ex Chelsea, who dismissed the token question about Saints and said let's talk about Leicester. However, I really enjoyed the two hour discussion about Jurgen Sodding Klopp.
  22. Not as much as the referee though.
  23. Koeman's going to revert to a defensive mindset which seems to be his default position. It's how he shored things up and rebuilt team confidence after the flaky start to the season. We could well be in for another Watford but I remain hopeful of a win. An early goal would do it.
  24. The blame game again. I wouldn't hold him responsible for any of the goals. We're not going to get a better stand in/back up keeper than Stecklenberg. Much better than Davies and Gazzaniga and I actually see the fact that you rarely notice him as a plus.
  25. Usually affable, Ronald's a bit grumpy there. Seems like he's got the 'ump?
