Got good work rate has he?
-
I'd rather be a Flounder than a Skate.
-
Disappointed but not surprised. What we do now to replace him will be interesting on a number of levels.
-
I'm a slightly surprised he's considering going there because he's one player in recent years I felt had a genuine affection for Saints. I guess it's the Cole connection which has brought this about. No reason why he shouldn't go there if he wants to of course. The real story here is that this is a player that retired from the game last season due to a wrist injury. Are the Skates desperate or what?

Some are more medium sized than others.

Cut out the politics. Keep the history.

OP. I disagree with some of what you have said but I won't dwell on that because essentially you are right. The winning mentality has been missing and it's encouraging that Pardew has spotted that straight away.
-
He was clearly unfit but did enough both in how he played and his communication with team mates, especially with Lallana, to show he would be a good signing. I think the injury was because he's unfit but desperate to show he's worth a contract. It would have made sense to take him off at half time.

Eh?

He lingers like a fart in a lift. Great day yesterday.

Bookmarked for posterity. Thanks LeBoyer.

He was head and shoulders above any other Saints player and could slot quite easily into Ajax's team. I'm surprised he's still here.

A stone cold hot dog and a pint of bat's pee. I trust the Corporates get better. Time to write to Markus who will be aware how they do things differently at German football matches. Nevertheless, very happy to be there yesterday.

Credit to those very few that stayed for giving a generous round of applause to the Ajax team who I thought were excellent.

I can't be bothered to read the views on the link in the OP because it doesn't matter what a few internet posters think of Pardew but I have to say I have a lot of time for Charlton. The club had major problems in the past but the fans rallied round and it pulled through. They are facing financial problems again and having been through what we have with Saints I have sympathy for any club with similar problems....with the one exception.
-
Fair enough. Beats me why he's being linked as well.
-
AP you've damned him with faint praise. I think you've answered your own question.
-
I agree. Sadly I don't think it's Wotton. He came from Plymouth with the reputation of having a powerful shot. If so and if he's a leader why didn't he step up and take that penalty in the key game at home to Burnley? He let the young lad take the pressure and we all know what happened.

I haven't seen the friendlies but just going on last season, considering that we've lost some of the better players since then and given that we struggled against physical and direct teams I fear we'll get hammered in League 1. The squad needs to be strengthened.

You gotta get in to get out (is that a lyric?). Did anybody rule him him? Good decision anyway.
-
Interesting read. He's saying all the right things. Let's hope his trusted people appoint the right manager.
-
Didn't know that. Well I never.

I think Saints is a value buy, albeit high risk and high reward, although probably a reasonable level of risk for someone of ML's wealth, but I can't help thinking the acquisition is part of a wider business strategy. PR appears to have been important to the family company which donated to two local charities when supplying those cranes to the docks. All fine by me as long as the club flourishes.

Anybody know any good Skate jokes?

I think he's serious. Any chance of sharing a bit more with us non German speakers?
