  1. A cautionary tale and fortunately one that wouldn't be lost on Adkins and I hope the players who seem highly conscious of the need to stay focused on "one game at a time".
  2. Dune, what have you got on yer 'ead?
  3. I remember a few years back when our OS said tickets for the Pompey match " going like shell suits on the Paulsgrove"
  4. Would have been pleased also for Lallana had he won but Lambert was absolutely the right winner of the award.
  5. Got through on the 0127 number. It's worth persevering with it.
  6. I hate Vivaldi or whoever the fck it is.
  7. I was there but not on the pitch. I recall someone grabbed a corner flag and began swinging it around his head. Also, a bigger pitch invasion which could have been at the end of the rmatch...it was a long time ago.
  8. Adkins doesn't sweat the small stuff, especially when he's on a beach in the Maldives.

Should saints get promoted, players from the championship I would prefer they consider; Curtis Davies, Matthew Phillips, Peter Whittingham (though do we needed him with having Lallana?). I think full back is a key position but I honestly don't know where we get what would be required in the PL.
  10. Against a team that's defensively frail we played incredibly deep and just invited them to attack but the fact is they just weren't good enough to turn possession into goals and when they threatened we had top quality from KD. Saints were also very lopsided second half with no balance on the right. Nonetheless this does feel like a season defining performance. I was reminded tonight of something Pardew said after he left which was that Saints would do well because they were a team of winners. Wouldn't want to tempt fate by making predictions but this was a fixture I was worried about and we've come away as winners.
  11. I reckon what Warnock has said is less to do with him being complimentary about Saints and more about setting us up as targets for his team to shoot down. Listen to what he says after we beat them. If he's complimentary after having lost the game then I'll take it as such but I'm not holding my breadth.

  13. Standard reporting tonight that Green's West Ham future is in doubt as contract negotiations have stalled.
  14. I was close to the pitch, near the halfway line and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be considering they play rugby on it. I thoughtSchneiderlin had a fine game and managed to play some football on it. The tactics may have been as much to counter Watford's style as to deal with the pitch.
  15. Yeah I admit it. you got me. I only think Lambert's better because I'm a Saints fan.
  16. Not a couple. Ten.
  17. It hardly proves he's up there with the top goal scorers. 15th on the list and fewer than half the league goals scored by the top goalscorer. He's a good player, in my opinion Lambert is better. If Holt's so valuable to Norwich why have 10 of his appearances this season been from the bench, or has he been carrying an injury or something?
  18. Van Persie Arsenal 22 Rooney Man Utd 17 Aguero Man City 16 Ba Newcastle 16 Dzeko Man City 13 Yakubu Blackburn 13 Adebayor Tottenham 10 Balotelli Man City 10 Dempsey Fulham 10 Fletcher Wolverhampton 10 Graham Swansea 10 Lampard Chelsea 10 Bale Tottenham 9 Bent Aston Villa 9 Holt Norwich 9
  19. I think Lambert is better. How many starts has Holt made this season and how many goals, is it double figures? If we were to get to the PL I can't see Lambert being on the bench much.
  20. It matters to me how my team wins and I think it matters to a lot of West Ham fans. Watch as Big Sam becomes Fat Sam becomes That Fat Ba..ard Allardyce. They've won 1 more game so far this season than we have btw.
  21. Think that one struck a chord with the Academy of Football.
  22. A draw was probably a fair result. I was along the side towards the end where the penalty and sending off occured. Difficult to see thepenalty as it happened so quick but the way the Saints players were so incensed by the linesman's decision strongly suggested it was a dive. I had a reasonable view of the sending off and Taylor bundled into Sharp quite heavily. I don't like to see a straight red for something like that which is far less than say a dangerous tackle but these days they are given and I've seen softer reds. I had a goodview of the handball for which Saints should have had a penalty. Great atmosphere from both sets of fans.
  23. You are unlikely by challenging him to change the behaviour or opinions of someone saying this kind of thing. I challenged someone in the past with predictable results. The appropriate and sensible thing to do is to report the incident to the club and he'll get banned.
  24. Can I recommend to you the Newsnow website. Set it up as your homepage and it delivers to you all saints related news, updated every 5 minutes, avoiding the need to waste valuable time trawling the Internet and giving you the benefit of alternative views.
  25. This from the report on the Claret's Mad website: "We were only in the eighth minute of the game when the Saints marched into the lead. It was no surprise to see Guly Do Prado involved. He turned in as good an individual performance yesterday as I've seen from a player all season in the Championship." Secondly let's nail this assertion that Guly was responsible for Skate's equaliser. Granted he might have been more decisive in either staying on the post or attacking the ball but the reason their player had the opportunity was because he was unmarked. The reason their player was unmarked is because our favourite midfield player Adam Lallana wandered off and left Fonte (I think Fonte) with two players to mark, one of them the goalscorer.
