Top 5 reasons not to give a f*ck if we go up or not
Graffito replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
What's the worst that can happen? We don't go up and another season in arguably the most competitive league in Europe. Not so bad. -
Rule of thumb, anything in the six yard box a keeper deals with. Kelvin generally doesn't come for crosses in the six yard box which isn't necessarily a problem if he doesn't do so consistently. The defenders then know it's their job to win the ball. I only saw the goal live and haven't seen a re-run but whoever was in the six yard box obviously didn't deal with the cross. However, it was an excellent cross and header but which should never have got that far because Fox should have cut off the cross at source, a fundamental task of playing full back.

I can match your 45 years fwiw but I think that's irrelevant. I think the point being made by the other poster is that Brighton performed so poorly even the Skates could have beaten them (did you see the inept defending?) which might suggest that Wham have not suddenly found the blinding form that has eluded them so far.
-
Are you Alpine in disguise?
-
Roberto Martinez, another good example of the power of positive thinking. We all have a choice, accentuate the positives or focus on the negatives. Seems obvious to me which is more likely to encourage success but evidently some think otherwise.
-
So you'd rather be in West Ham's position?
-
2003 play offs? Seriously Alpine, we all feel bad enough without your relentless negativity. Polite request. Please stop.
-
The two home games were comfortable. I think it was 4-4 away from home last season. The uncertainty is that they are a maverick team.
-
Watch the West Ham goals. If it helps a bit, the Brighton defending was totally incompetent and the goalkeeper was comical.
-
Just seen the Wham goals. Totally incompetent defending by Brighton and the goalkeeper.....words fail me. It looks almost like he let some of them in on purpose.
-
Good point. It's the hope that kills you.
-
Not that I give a monkeys what happens to the Skates but that just about caps the worst set of results we could have seen today. West Ham's result will give them a huge boost. We really need to sell out the Peterborough allocation and make sure we get Saints over the line.
-
Possibly not certainly.
-
Agree with all of that. That's how we play. Adkins said last night that we won't change that.
-
Reading's performance was a fine example of defending deep and hitting us on the break. They did their basic defensive duties extremely well and we did not. They were clinical in finishing their (three) chances and we were not. There's all to play for. Keep our nerve and we'll go up. Once you are in the PL nobody gives two hoots whether you did so as champions. Who is to say Reading won't drop any more points anyway.
-
Reading simply doubled up on him forcing him too often to pass back to Butterfield to lob crosses from deep that were easier for their centre backs to defend than crosses from the byline. Consequently, but for one decent cross from the byline, he was largely ineffective.
-
It ain't over yet.
-
Yep and we all know what that means with his record. Sheer malice.
-
Lambert was deadly with free kicks last season. From how many free kicks has he scored directly this season? Can't remember the last one he got. Feels like we're due one on Friday.

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/po...hate-1-3715779 The article's a load of rubbish but I do wish our club would rise above this kind of nonsense and leave it to us fans who are perfectly capable of insulting the witless ****s.
-
I thought the atmosphere was great. Plenty of noise and everyone standing. Nigel Adkins and the players seemed to appreciate.
-
I agree. Being booed by you own fans, the fans he said made him feel settled after he signed, hardly breeds confidence.

I prefer facts to opinions. A case in point, judging by your posts I would have had you down as about 15 years old. Now I know you are a grown man with the maturity of a child.
