  1. It's just a typical result that will bring out the bed-wetting, wrist slitting ones like alpine over the next day or so. I remember when we used to be perennial strugglers, last day of the season and all that, now a few games are lost and the world is going to end. One decent season and people expect it all the time and even things like top 4! Manure happens and people need to face the fact that we are an average side that will get beaten a few times - we are nothing special. If anyone thinks that's being defeatist, it isn't, it's being realistic.

  3. Just like one of those lingering farts you can't get rid of... http://www.espnfc.com/fifa-world-cup/story/2491089/sepp-blatter-reconsidering-his-fifa-resignation-report
  4. A packet of fags going up in price, Alcohol going up in price and petrol up 5p a litre.
  5. More americanised arsebiscuits, let's call it what it really is... a sale.
  6. A brick held by a *****....
  7. The only thing that jurassic **** should be considering is his retirement.
  8. You're not the only person I've heard said that but it's rubbish! Caught a Eel, put it back then I cast again, as I was tightening the line I felt a bite and shortly afterwards I reeled in a schoolie Bass.
  9. Well he ain't for sale, perhaps he will move somewhere on loan?
  10. Read what I put again, nowhere did I mention J-Rod or Vic. I said our club record signing, i.e Osvaldo.
  11. For those whinging about it being a loan, not being good enough etc, all I will say is look how well(cough, cough) our club record signing did!
  12. Actions speak louder than words.
  13. There isn't much we can do,so there's no point in getting too wound-up about the situation. I find the best way is to treat it as I do with football in general - with a big helping of cynicism and contempt. There's still quite a bit of time left in this transfer window so lets see what the squad is like when the window closes.

    Kruuger??

Apparently Wigan have offered us a bag of pork scratching for his services this season.
  15. 10 grand for everytime he says "you know" in an interview.
  16. The sooner that dinosaur Blatter sods off, the better! Qatar should have never been in the running in the first place as they have never qualified for the WC. Still I guess that money talks (alledgely).
  17. It's been a business for years, it's nothing new. This family club thing is just a facade anyway, more so now with all that 'lovely' $ky money pouring in,the paying supporter is just another revenue stream anyway. It doesn't matter how much anyone stamps their feet about Lambert, Mofo and anyone else who ends up leaving, it won't change things as they'll go for whatever reason it happens to be. There's is no point in getting too wound up nor going in to meltdown about it as unless you have a few hundred million swilling about, nothing you or I can do will change things.
  18. Freddie Krueger giving his next statement to the press:
  19. Why would they want to sponsor Pompey?
  20. It's already been stated that a "difficult financial situation" was inherited so personally I don't expect much to be spent in the summer. I can see more players leaving than coming in and if any come in and they won't be of Osvaldo or Ramirez type fees. 8th isn't a bad position to finish in, I'd prefer stability over spending insane amounts in an attempt to get a Champions league place. Let's be honest, anyone thinking we can leapfrog over 3 or 4 of the following: Arsenal, United, Citeh, Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton and Spurs, in order to get a CL place in the forseeable future is living in cloud cuckoo land.
  21. I don't know if it's just me but I get the feeling that the relevant authorities know more than they are willing to release to the general public. In any case, an airliner has been lost with 239 people on board I hope they find out why sooner rather than later. RIP.
  22. **** off and go back to supporting Pompey!
  23. I looked at some of the reactions after the cup loss and judging by some reactions it was as if we lost 5 or 6 nil, not by a single goal. Even if we had beaten them there would've been no guarantee we would've beaten Hull or Brighton, it would be arrogant to assume otherwise - I'm sure some of you can remember the replay against Tranmere in the FA Cup a few years back. Then I read about how 'we have nothing to play for' because we're 8th. FFS! I bet there's a lot of supporters of other teams who would love their team to be 8th in the premiership and it certainly makes a change from being the perennial strugglers that we were, relying on last day results to see if we were staying up or going down. It's almost as if just because we are owned by a rich family we are going to win things. Despite that we don't know how much money they are willing to splash out in the future. The fact is that we have always been an average club with an average history. Then there's Fitzhughs' gem of a topic after the cup loss proclaiming that the club is no longer run for the fans... seriously??? It doesn't take genius to realise that's been the case for years! Yes, we got knocked out of the cup and we're 8th in the league but the way I see it, things could be a lot lot worse.
  24. He's just an old, English hating **** who should bugger off under the nearest available stone. He's had long enough at FIFA but like a dictator he will try to stay in power.
