Whilst it has been alleged that players have played to get the manager the sack (not at SFC to my knowledge although Branfoot might make a case on that one) do you think the shortlist might be shared with the senior players to gauge their views?
-
Pellegrini for me too however, the one thing I can't come to terms with is the fact given the playing resources he had at Citeh he only won the league once or am I just being picky?

I agree totally, I feel a meltdown coming on..

If Webby is to be believed I would go with "Unlucky Alf"

Let's keep the moral high ground and let him go but also say that any future communications will be via fax and that we are getting rid of ours.?

Slightly different circumstances but wasn't Dave Jones put on gardening leave whilst we appointed Hoddle?

Has anyone else noticed that when you speak to any scouser none of them actually live in Liverpool itself, they all claim to live in the Wirral that's how proud they are of their fair City!!! Anywho give RK's honesty rating, the only readers I suspect who will give his ramblings any consideration will be the Bluenoses so a bit of a niche read if you ask me

Oh wake up Maggie I think there's something I've got to say to you and it's as long as it isn't Saints then that's fine!

Chuffed to bits

Great result. Now can we stop all the bickering and name calling and get behind the team. Thank you

So at what point does the business asset actually reach its point of maximum return? If it was purely a business proposition, and it could well have been, then last year was probably it because to get higher in the PL with the possibility of Europe would have required a significant investment which perhaps was way beyond Cortese's remit or KL's desired wish. Just think how much has been spent at Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City to get them into a position of regular European football their owners it's is probably overtime at least £300m to £500m each and they will be lucky perhaps Man United apart, to see any sort of return that matches the investment made. So to think NC could have kept that plate spinning convincing the players that it was all in hand whilst asking KL to hand over the financial keys to her fortune was the House of Cards it was never going happen. The financial fair play rules were always likely to trip us up at some point and if Cortese really was the man with a plan, he's obviously not been able to convince all the supposed super rich investors he claims to have known of it or else he would have made a deal KL couldn't have refused in order to sweat the asset and gain more business value.
-
Totally agree Cortese built a dream on a house of cards however I cannot believe how naive this club has become and the board really needs to take a look at itself. It is going to take some rescuing from here that's for sure.

Claudia Cardinale........just saying!

And there we are, this thread proves the point already why another SISA reincarnation won't work
-
It is difficult not to remember the self publicists who went way beyond their remit and caused in the end, more harm than good. We still have one of the old gang who seems to stand in front of the Sky cameras at any given opportunity suggesting that he somehow represents the fans and is so cringeworthy that it's embarrassing. So not against the idea in principle, but how the hell you'd get the right people in place and truly representing all Saints fans would be a truly tough ask.
-
Indeed you should, putting SISA in anything was always likely to generate a negative swath of responses, quite rightly too!

Jeez that's got to be the best Lego hair ever!! I am only jealous as I have less than Homer Simpson:blush:

If what I hear was true, Cortese lost the plot on the commercial income side. There can't be many clubs in the EPL who couldn't sell their hospitality boxes unless, like us, you were asking stupid money for them in the first place. When clearly the boxes were not selling he would not revise the pricing strategy but rigidly stuck to a figure that would result in most of the boxes remaining empty. Couple that with some of the stories that have been posted on the forum about upsetting sponsors and many commercial organisations in general then you wonder what the hell he was up to!! Also didn't we get Man City's Commercial guru at some point and he only lasted a few months be interesting to know what happened there?

Looking at the underarm colour perhaps we should be sponsored by Lynx

Appalling show of grace from the Club and some fans

Honestly all this over a Teletubbie -
At the end of the day if a player, any player for that matter wants a move there isn't much a manager or board can do to stop it and in reality if a player doesn't want play for the club there is no point keeping them. It's going to be a huge test for RoKo but if the transfer budget is what we are led to believe it is including all the sales, then he could almost play "fantasy football" for real!! A huge test for any new manager but he won't want to fail under the PL spotlight so I am being positive about a new era for SFC.

I am sure the board has ambition but within a structured environment and finances and that's what we as fans need to get our heads round. It is amazing how so many fans have taken on the mentality of some of the Scousers and Mancs thinking they have a god given right to be winning things and getting what we want, we haven't end of. To say we are a small number of players short of moving on to greater things may be true, but the type of player we would need we couldn't afford ,could we realistically pay those types of players £80-100k per week players as Shaw,Lallana are likely to be getting elsewhere on our income level, come on guys let's get some perspective. We have a stadium of 32,500 we couldn't sell out for quite a few games last season and the TV money will go so far but not enough to pay a squad an average of £70k a week which is where I suspect the next level we aspire to is and expecting KL just to keep paying the difference because she owns it is just a fantasists dream. Players come and go end of
