  1. Would that make him a "Rear Admiral"
  2. Far too many fans of other clubs have had the temerity of knicking our song in our 7 year absence, at last we have the chance to reclaim it as rightfully ours. First Premier League we need to show them all who's song it is!!
  3. See you Nesbitt ya midden, how good is the SPL if Skacel can still score a hat trick in it.
  4. I think you meant "road house!"
  5. Has to be Ivan and does anyone remember the banner at Wembley "Ivan bites yer Golacs"?
  6. Fantastic result, chuffed to bits COYR
  7. FFS! Tranmere what is about that place? Arrghhh
  8. I sit in the Itchen and there is one bloke who sits not too far away who insists on reading out loud all the latest scores off his mobile phone. Quite why he feels the need to share this bit of news with everyone whilst the Saints game is going on is beyond me and again wouldn't mind if it if it was the odd score. I can put up with that, but this numpty reads out every latest score from the Premier League to the Scottish Second Division!! WTF?
  9. Well given the progress we have made during this season it makes no sense to sack AP unless you can replace him with someone better, so hang on to your hats we must be getting.................erm...........mmmm Mourinho!!!!:smt043
  10. And when you go into liquidation then all your history will be expunged from the records and you can join such illustrious names like Thameside Ironworks The Wanderers etc etc so enjoy it whilst it lasts....which may be until May 2010 if your lucky:D
  11. Duncan forgive them for they know not what they do!! I personally enjoy your posts as do many others, so please don't let the minority stone throwers put you off
  12. I must admit whilst I am not panicking yet, I am beginning to feel less comfortable with what has happened on the pitch thus far. I still think AP is the right man for the job and I do think he will get us moving in the right direction eventually, the worry for me is whether he will be able to get the necessary number of players in before the transfer window shuts. If he doesn't, then it is going to be a fairly uncomfortable and long haul until January.
  13. I think its a good solid appointment lets be honest we could have done a hell of a lot worse. I am really looking forward to the new season everything shaping up nicely COYR
  14. Good idea, my vote would be as half time entertainment preferably as a coconut shy!
  15. Pinnacle........fecking North London Yobbos.......
  16. Fair point but the truth of the matter is we have no evidence that the potential imposition of a further points deduction would be forthcoming, we are all making assumptions that this is the case. What i find hard to understand is that IF the whole basis of any takeover falls or fails because the "blazers" at the FL are on a point of "dodgy" principle, happy to see a club go out of existence then I should think all the other members would be more than a little worried about their future and the future of football in under their stewardship.
  17. Anyone remember the huge hyper market the coaches parked in and the inevitable trolley race round the car park.....priceless.
  18. If SFC are not inextricably linked with SLH why couldn't the footy club pay its staff yesterday? Rules is rules we know, but lets be honest we are not going to win the argument with the FL on the application of the rules when the reality of the situation is there for all to see. Take the points deduction, don't appeal take the club over and lets get selling those season tickets
  19. Just had a look see on the Sunday Times Rich list and he isn't on that so difficult to say whether he personally has wealth of hundreds of millions, maybe it is a consortium after all:smt102
  20. I am not sure what to make of the interview, talked a lot but said no more than we already know.....anywho, if he has the money and is prepared to spend it then hey ho bring it on.
  21. I agree re the CVA issue, it would seem crass and stupid to see a club slide into oblivion on the basis of scaraing off the new owners over an incorrect application of their own rules!!! The "blazers" at the FL need to seriously take a look at themselves and their rules and ask themselves are they fit and proper guardians of the peoples game, because it seems to me that they are doing the utmost to destroy it rather than protect it.
  22. Oh well not a surprise that the FL wouldn't grant a right of appeal as I am sure they have not actually applied their own rules correctly. I just feel so frustrated and angry that the League seem to be ready to see the demise of a football club just to get themselves out of a hole they dug themselves into.
  23. As we all know the law is fraught with technicalities that clever lawyers exploit to their clients benefit. When the points deduction was imposed even Fry was at pains to point out that it was the holding company and NOT the footy club that went into adminstration and that it was an incorrect decision by FL to impose the points penalty. If the case was that watertight why are the football league insisting that we should not go to the courts and why indeed do they now need an emergency meeting on Monday? Like many others have already said, if they are that convinced they are right let us have our day in court, lose the case and they can have their costs. Methinks they realise that the way the points penalty was imposed was not within their own rules and therefore a clever lawyer will make mincemeat of their decision. Just hope the deal goes through this last hitch has really ruined my day I was so looking forward to everything being done and dusted today:(
