I can't say i heard him mention a name, but then I was seeing the kids off to school at the time.

Apologies if I've missed something (been speed reading!), but your thought processes and questions in respect of it all being planned, seem to be leading only one way. If it was all planned, the people who put the club into admin would have to be pretty much involved in those plans. Wonder who that was…?

Maybe they should just concentrate on buying the feckin club first eh?

Better get there quick or there'll be a pile of bodies to break your fall.

They are probably holding out in case we cease to exist. Then I'd imagine they can have him for nothing.

I can sort of see both sides of things. Nice to know that there seems to be more positive movement, but annoyed at the (probably unintentional) teasing. I don't like it when things get personal but to be fair mate, after all the ITK ****** over the last couple of years what did you expect? You were always going to get as many slaggings as pats on the back.

Pinnacle Led Bid Latest- Premiership in Five Years

Class I was thinking exactly the same thing! -
Out of all the various possible takeovers I've heard on here, I'm most gutted that the Akabusi/Fashanu one fell through:) Awooga.

I suggest you re-read the post mate, it's pretty balanced. Takes some pretty serious twisting to end up reading the way you imply. The only evidence that we have as to what has happened to us since the FA Cup Final, are the financial reports that have been published, along with the predicament that we now find ourselves in. We know that Lowe was in charge for the majority of that time and thus a huge proportion of the blame lies at his door. However, speculation and hearsay from "moles" on here will never be enough for me to believe that he is solely to blame. The full truth will never come out because each camp will have a different story. We need to cut out every little bit of cancer that has infected our club. Sticking our head in the sand and just blaming one person will not achieve this.

Pretty spot on and unbiased tho.

MLT on SSN confirmation of Consortium involvment

Why set your store on rumour? Most of those on here have proven to be a bunch of arse! -
To be honest, at this moment in time I'm quite happy to have just a rescue plan, if it means I still have my club to support.
-
What are you lot on about? Surely that is none other than Christopher Biggins! Maybe he's doing some research on what it's like to be in a real pantomime.
-
Who effin cares, they're all a bunch of assholes. Hopefully the club has a future and can move on. It would be nice if some of the "fans" on here could do the same…

Looks like a certain ex-Spurs player was actually on the south coast looking at purchasing another club… http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1146041/Former-Tottenham-defender-Ramon-Vega-spurred-Pompey-bid.html As a footnote, I'd like to state that I'm not a Mail reader, found the link on the bbc website. -
New striker - signed? According to Dutch Media
mulletsaint replied to ladysaint's topic in The Saints
Christ, we may have bought a new tall striker, something everyone's been saying we need, and just because nobody knows him from Adam, the conspiracy theorists and paranoid schizophrenics are questioning his purchase already! Alright, I'm pretty ****ed at the club's postion, both on the pitch and off it, and we as fans haven't had a lot to cheer about in recent seasons, but give the guy a chance. Nothing's even been confirmed yet. What annoys me is that it doesn't matter what type of news is reported about The Saints, some faces have to start playing Mulder and Scully. See the other post referencing LeTiss's comments that the fans need to get behind the team and new manager and stop their anti-board stance. The man that many see as being probably the greatest Saint alive (apologies Channon) is suddenly being cast as Lowe's stooge! No? The posters suggesting he has come out in support of the board because they've had words with him, might not put it this way, but like it or not that's what their posts infer. -
Nothing to say he's left the club, only his post as head coach. Maybe he and Wotte have swapped?

Maybe because that's exactly the sort of impression that some of the "moaners" tend to give. I know that some of the guys on this site have me down as one of the happy clappy brigade. This always makes me smile, as if you asked most of my mates and family who is the most pessimistic, moany person they know I would probably be top of the pile by some distance. In fact if it weren't for Alpine;) I'd probably take gold at 2012 should it be made an olympic sport! I can appreciate people getting upset when we lose, especially when the ,performances are dire. I do though, have a problem with people using bad performances to get on the case of those running the club and team that then claim that these people had nothing to do with the team winning. It cuts both ways. Stories surrounding Lowe including him deciding which players to buy or picking the team, swing from possible to highly unlikely, and I can understand how this would be a sorry state of affairs if true, but without proof I'm willing to take what's going on at face value. Please note those of you that claim these sort of stories as fact, I'm willing to change my mind that this is all just part of the spin war, if and when real tangible proof is made available. Until that time you're as much of a problem as those you seek to hound out. If we take it that the club is royally skint we have little option but accept that for most of this season we are going to be relying on youth and that at times it's going to be a struggle. I'll be as unhappy as the next fan but I believe that the kids will be more likely to suffer from losses in morale, so I also believe it is up to us to help them through it, not get on their backs. Finally, I'm sorry Alpine if you think I'm picking on you, but you have to admit that your histrionics make you an easy target. Last night on the post match thread there was proof that you are able to balance the positives with the negatives. Believe it or not there are some things that we do agree on, for instance I can't believe that we have not addressed the full back problems yet. Pity the good points are all too often lost amongst the guff.

I am quite aware how many games we've lost. However I'm pretty sure you were on here moaning after that first loss. Apologies if I'm wrong but let's face it, it doesn't take more than one bad result for you to start up again and this was my point. I feel a bit bad for constantly taking you to task recently, but your rather unbalanced take on things really gets my goat.
-
So let me get this straight. One win means we shouldn't get all excited and start "happy clapping", and yet one loss and it's slate everyone in sight and reach for the razor blades? Still each to his own I s'pose. I aint gonna get too excited over what sounds like a scrappy but hard fought win over Donny, but at least points wise it's a step in the right direction. Well done lads, bring on Norwich.

Gotta say guys one of the best threads in ages, despite what others might think. Good to see so many well reasoned arguments from both sides of the fence, enjoyed both Foxy's and Roman's. Pity we had to have the usual injection of egotism part way through.

Saints 0-0 Barnsley - Reaction/Doughnuts/Lucy Pinder Thread
mulletsaint replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
What a surprise, Alpine being melodramatic again! That's all the incentive I need to b*gger off of here for the rest of the night. Enjoy yourselves (or more likely, not). -
I think most of us know how it is, a lot of us had hope that things could turn out better though and yes it still could. "Telling it like it is" on what proof? Why should we all take your word as gospel? There'd be mass suicides by Saints fans all around the world. Things can change very quickly in football. You only have to look at Cardiff in 06-07 one minute looking certs for the title, the next they were in freefall. As i said on another thread after the Derby game and the Brum cup game, those that were there were raving about the performances. Pretty quiet then weren't you? It's only 3 matches later. Yes those performances haven't been to the same level, doesn't mean we're suddenly awful either. I have problems with many of your posts and not only because they always appear negative. Any good points that you may make are generally lost due to the fact that you are incredibly melodramatic, not to mention seemingly under the delusion that only you are able to see the truth of of any situation regarding Saints. I would hazard a guess that even those who claim to know a lot about what has been happening over recent seasons (but strangely only ever seem to know one sides story, ever notice that?), actually know very little given how many twists and turns have been visible to us mere mortals. If it's this messy from the outside I dread to think what has really been going on.
-
I can see your point. However I would counter that with the fact that in recent years our "seasoned" pros have proved that it is not only the young and experienced that are capable of making schoolboy errors, particularly in defence. The only difference is that it can be argued they at least have the excuse of being young. Hopefully they will be able to learn from their mistakes unlike some of their older team mates. Part of this will be down to maintaining morale, which as fans we can help by not panicking and getting on their backs. Buying experience doesn't exclude the team from the potential to ****-up.

Apologies for quoting myself from another thread, but thought this was valid for here also. On top of this I ask you to cast your mind back to the morning of Wed 27th Aug. We'd just won our 2nd match on the bounce with hugely impressive performances against Derby and Birmingham. We had a record of played 5, won 3, lost 2. Not a bad record although I'm sure we'd all agree that we'd have preferred to have beaten Brum in the league, but the doubters such of yourself were very much noticable by your absence. Now OK we've lost the last two, but one of those was against a team who were favourites to win the league before the season started who have had investment. The 4-1 scoreline flattered QPR, decisions went against us and we played an hour with 10 men. Yes in hindsight JP made some bad decisions but he is still learning about his squad, yes we now find ourselves bottom of the league but we can't suddenly panic after a run of two bad results. OK the table doesn't lie but we didn't go from a good young team to no hopers in two matches.
