  1. wish id known that number before, finally got through after wasting all morning on the website… one ticket left. Can only go if i take the two kids.
  2. just getting engaged tone on that, still better than the rigmarole on the site and other line! the online booking system is shocking. tried no block, tried all blocks that end, tried one ticket, nothing.
  3. Unfortunately this is a rather simplified view of next weekend. WH won't have it easy turning over Leicester, but assuming they do, all the pressure next weekend will be on us. There will be absolutely none on Coventry. Those of us that have been following football as long as I have will know that teams often win once they have been confirmed as relegated.
  4. Right, I'm trying to display a level of perspective which appears to be missing from many post on here. (yep that's right me, the one who scared my three kids into their bedroom with my appalling behaviour and wrecked on of my 5yr old daughter's favorite toys. Proud? Not really). Anyway now I've had time to calm down. It's all to easy to lay most of the blame at Fonte's door. However he had played very well up to that point and Jutkewicz had at least an equal fistful of shirt when winning the free kick. Cork and Hammond were very ineffectual in midfield but I would suggest that this is more down to the shape that NA has us playing. WE ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO ****ING SORT THIS OUT. AN OUT AND OUT DEFENSIVE MID IS A MUST. especially as we rely on the fullback to provide our attacking width. We were so quick out of the blocks in the second half that I was certain we'd win. Unfortunately I hadn't factored on the referee dropping a bollock, Lambert letting his frustration at this decision completely ruin what was already one of the poorest performances I've seen from him in a Saints shirt and Chaplow getting injured.
  5. Shocking refereeing decision. Lambert well off colour. Never do anything the easy way. Broken my daughters toy oven and no money to buy a new one. Chaplow injury ****ed our momentum.
  6. Actually had us to lose this 2-1 on the bbc predictor although in the end not sure how we lost. Looks like Reading are having a run similar to ours a few weeks ago (winning lucky). Our big problem is we now have two tricky away games before the easiest in our run-in. If the next one goes badly and the Hammers make up the points the Coventry match will be a whole lot harder than it should.
  7. Christ, not sure I have another dump in me, let alone two.
  8. I'll take all the credit thank you, was having a lucky dump when I heard the kids shout.
  9. This has been my main fear. Hopefully somebody will crock Harte* for Friday or he'll get himself sent off! *Obviously not seriously.
  10. It's available for purchase from the Getty website, although I'm not sure they will sell for personal usage. http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/news-photo/rickie-lambert-of-southampton-celebrates-scoring-their-news-photo/142608936
  11. Not quite from what I've seen. They might not be busting a gut to make late runs into the box like Lampard but neither are they sitting like Makelele. This is the main problem as far as I can see it, they're all neither one thing nor the other. Whether this is Adkin's decision or players not doing their jobs properly, who knows? People say we're susceptible to attacks down the flanks. As far as I can see this is due to the fact that with the diamond the fullbacks provide our attacking width. With none of the midfielders protecting the defence 100% of the time this is always going to happen. Personally I think we need a Makelele to sit and give the others the freedom to get forward.
  12. Spot on, although exactly how much pressure is on WH depends on our result against Palace. If we can win that they'll obviously be under more pressure. I think that no matter how good Reading's form, they will drop at least 2pts. Brighton need to bounce back next weekend to help their playoff hopes.
  13. ****ing sickener. Form taking a dip at wrong time. A win on Monday is absolutely vital because with our defending at set pieces means I can't see us getting anything out of the Reading match.
  14. Always thought this game would be far from the 5-0 thumping some thought it might be. Irrespective of league position they were always likely to be right up for this. Hopefully class will shine through by the end. COYRs!!!
  15. Maybe we should all chip in? They say if you can't afford the sum on your own you can join a syndicate. Just think, a group of Saints fans holding shares in the Skates, they'd f**kin hate that!
  16. Why? Skillful, but way too greedy or lacking in vision to bring others into play.
  17. So maybe this is where the confusion over the Lambert injury began. I think we could miss him, especially if Sharp's pen miss continues to weigh in his mind. Looks to have fragile confidence.
  18. Still, look on the bright side. At least Phil won't have to eat the slop next week. (apologies if this has already been said)
  19. Yup. Out of the last six games they'd have to win four more than us and we'd have to lose at least three of those.
  20. Apologies for missing that, was trying to get my points across while being nagged to get out of the house by my missus. However I do think that players who display both attributes are rather thin on the ground, hence why they tend to sell for stupid money. Many people at the end of last season thought that Mackail-Smith was the answer but he's hardly set the world alight this season. I'm happy with Sharp and believe he'll come good. If we can find another Oxlade-Chamberlain in the youth set-up or a Bale who ain't gonna set us back £40million then fine in the meantime I think questioning the chap is a little premature.
  21. Lot's of odd points in this thread, think Genk has it closest. Saints probably felt Lee would take time to acclimatise and that Sharp was more likely to hit the ground running. As it happens it's turned out to be the other way around. For people to suggest that Sharp moving from Yorkshire to Hampshire is not an issue because Lee hasn't had any problems with a greater upheaval are spouting rubbish. We're all different and react in different ways to these sort of things. Since Sharp has arrived our form has picked up and after a slow start he's found it hard to get in the team. Also Adkins doesn't strike me as the sort of manager that will automatically throw new signings into the team as first choice. When Fox arrived it took a few games for him to displace Harding. Anyway onto the reason I added the quote. Pace is an incredibly overrated trait (unless you're playing FIFA). Give me intelligence and finishing everytime over pace, Look at Forte. The way we play relies on the former attributes. In the prem I think these are more likely to win us matches. I've not seen alot of Sharp but I was very impressed by his movement and while not lightning quick he showed good acceleration. As others have said give him a full pre-season and fitness regime and I think we'll see a very different player next season.
  22. Great result today. Couldn't believe it, first I knew we'd got something out of the game was when my dad texted me "left that late", when I thought we'd lost 2-1. I'll claim an assist though as the reason I wasn't fully focused on the game, was that I was inside a church for the first time in years at my daughter's 5th birthday party. Someone up there must have thought I deserved it. Oh and on the subject of millwall fans, yes they have a fair few idiots supporting them (from what some on here post I'd wager they're not alone in that), but having lived in east London for over a decade, I can vouch for the fact that a fair number are thoroughly decent chaps.
  23. I did the BBC predictor, not the most reliable of guides unless you're some sort of stats genius (I'm not) I'm aware. I have managed to end up with a final table with the following top three: 1 Saints P46 GD40 PTS91 2 West Ham P46 GD31 PTS91 3 Reading P46 GD28 PTS91 Now I'm obviously hoping that we finish top, but I've got to say I hope it doesn't end up that close! It would have to go down as the best Championship season ever to finish like that. I imagine a few more points will be dropped along the way by each team. I also think Leeds and Brighton will have a big say on what happens up top. Luckily we don't have to play either again, unlike both Reading and WH.
  24. I was at the game today so for once I can have a (reasonably) formed opinion. Those who have said he was crap must have only watched the first half, those who thought he played well, only the second. Yeah the whole team performance was below par first half but Guly did stand out as being particularly so. His first touch was abysmal about 75% of the time, the other 25% his pass went astray. To be honest I wanted him off at halftime. Second half different kettle of fish. Looked alot more comfortable in the middle with license to roam. He retained possession well, committed defenders and worked hard out of possession. On the occasions I've seen Guly play I've generally been impressed more often than not and that'll do me.
  25. Glad someone's picked up on Deano's performance when he came on. Defensively I thought he was brilliant. I know one or two others have given Guly a bit of stick for his performance but I don't think he was alone in not holding on to the the ball in advanced positions, but he also worked his socks off getting back to help the defence out. He made a couple of important tackles on the edge of the box. Thought Puncheon was a spectator on the left and Richardson and Chaplow looked well off the pace. Chappers kept going though and looked shattered at the end. Harding did well when he came on and seemed a more composed presence than Fox. Anyway nothing more to say that hasn't been said already, great commitment and superb performance from Kelv. COYR.
