He seems to be communicating much in the same manner that you do. As you say some of us have picked you up on it. You may not intend you posts to sound that way but they often do. You can see it as persecution or you could re-read your posts and accept that some of us have a point. Then again you could just stick your head in the sand. FWIW I know where you are coming from. He came across as a ****. Luckily he got his comeuppance as we did end up signing him. Hopefully Colin Murray will take him to task tomorrow night.

I thought he came over a total knob. However I do wonder whether it was just done to poke fun at Matt. They always tend to pick one of the guys in the studio to wind up about their old team. Phil Neal gets it quite a lot.

No good trying to make a last minute bid to win the forum most posts league, you're well out of it.
-
Sod that, what I want to know is who's winning the thread post league?

To be fair, if this place is indicative of web savvy Saints fans I'm not surprised he's getting a lot of inane questions, or that he's bored of them!

Emmanuel Mayuka - Officially Signed on OS - Work Permit Confirmed
mulletsaint replied to S-Clarke's topic in The Saints
Not 100% true. Maybe true of one dimensional players that rely solely on pace but this guy hopefully has a bit more about him than that. Change of pace is also important and having a trick or two in the locker helps. A couple of the clips on the video show him beating a man from a standing start a la Ronaldo. If this chap is a good as he looks we won't be changing our style for him, he'll be fitting with ours. I do agree that we will be able to mix it up a bit more though and should make the effort to do so. -
Emmanuel Mayuka - Officially Signed on OS - Work Permit Confirmed

Looks an exciting signing, hopefully he fulfills his obvious promise. I understand some people's disappointment that we still haven't signed a CB but do we really need to hear about it for the 1000th time? There's still time yet so base your opinions on what state we're in come the weekend. On the subject of our attacking options. I think it's quite easy to believe some must be on their way out but you need options in the prem and I believe we have a good mix now. Rickie has improved his game no end and is not just a target man any more. For me he really could be our Teddy Sheringham. I know pace can be important but more important still is a good football brain. Sharp is an old fashioned poacher, the type that seems to be going out of fashion but I can't see him leaving as he offers us something different and should still score goals at this level. If we want to play 4-4-2 then Sharp is a serious option for one of those two spots up front. Modern forwards are expected to have a more rounded game. It's too simplistic to state that Lee and Mayuka are wide forwards. Personally i think we're trying to buy forwards that can play anywhere across the front in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. For me Lee could play up top as well as as a wide forward and this new chap looks the same. I believe Adkins feels JRod can do the same. Who know's maybe in the future he will. Unfortunately the prem isn't the easiest place to learn. -
This would be a bloody stupid idea if you ask me. Not only does he deserve the chance to play in the prem but he's so intelligent in his play that we need him for the others to rotate around. I also think it'd go down incredibly badly with some of the other players such as Lallana. We can't afford to ruin the team spirit.
-
Crikey, what's going on with Leicester? Hardly a second team they've put out.
-
TBH I think it's persevering with JRod on the left that's the problem in the prem. Stick Lallana out left and Guly central and I think it'd work better. Don't have a problem with the second string using the same formation, should help any of them slot in should they make the step up.

Now see this one Alps? Doggface actually manages to say almost the same thing as you without coming across as a pillock.
-
Talking out of your arse again I see and oblivious to it as per. I think it's the 'massively underwhelming transfer window' that does it. Yes things are getting a bit squeaky bum but there's another fricken week left yet! State your disappointment, say we're leaving it late but don't condemn anyone until its actually panned out the way you're dreading. Then moan as much as you want, there'll probably even be a few more that then agree with you. It's also the fact that you said the same thing yesterday. What's changed? Why the need to moan about it again?

If he really does live in Tokyo he can afford to be. All those lovely Japanese girls to choose from. They love a bit of Brit.
-
Why are you still playing like a stuck record? There are infinite questions, only we already know the answer to some of them.
-
There's a simple way of sorting that. Don't use the Internet, listen to the radio, watch the local news or read the papers
-
Their most dangerous player gone before the weekend? Yes please.
-
You could always spend it on another thread. Maybe even not on the internet. Take up knitting perhaps?
-
I know what you mean, but this wasn't amazing movement from Silva, not anything that attacking midfielders in the Champ don't do most games. Either laziness or absentmindedness on his part. Still I'm sure Nigel's shown him the video! I still believe that we need a proper defensive mid with Morgan sat alongside getting things started. Anyway, back to JWP. Think he's got a big future but think we need to ease him in and not rely on him week in week out. I think when Cork's back he'll see less action.
-
Do you or anyone else know about his pace? Faster than what we have?
-
Not sure I've seen enough of him. Think he went through a phase of making mistakes at some point and seem to remember him dropping a clanger last season while watching Everton, but that wouldn't be the most reliable judgement.
-
BTW, seeing as you're one of those who have been criticising the club for their lack of interest in signing a CB, what's your opinion on the rumour from last night that we're one of two clubs who've had a bid accepted for Johnny Heitinger?
-
I like this bit from today's Guardian Rumour Mill. "Robert Green impressed Mark Hughes so much on his debut for Queens Park Rangers last weekend that the former up-and-coming manager has spent 15 hours every day since Saturday sacrificing trees to Zeus in a bid to gain favour with the child of Cronus and Rhea so he will provide Hughes with a keeper who does not chuck them in every week. So far the best Zeus has come up with is Internazionale's Júlio César who last made a decent save sometime around 2010 and thus should fit in with the club's strict policy of only buying players who are over 65 and who have been past their prime for at least 25 seasons."
-
It'll never get there, there's just not the same level of excitement involved!
-
Disagree with that last sentence on a couple of points. Firstly I think Morgan's performance was well below what I was expecting from him. Lazy in covering back at times, regularly out of position and looked about as unfit as any player on the pitch. I know the midfielders do a lot of running about but compare that with how Lallana finished the match. Also still think Fox is being focussed on without taking everything into account. Not enough support down that side, ran himself into the ground and for the header was probably worrying about scoring an OG because of the angle he was running in at, as well as conscious of the player coming in behind him.
-
Think I'm pretty close to agreeing with you. I do think that while he's not likely to be a regular striker at this level, Sharp will be very important to us this season. Probably a bit above borderline in my opinion. Also I'm one of those that thinks if Guly's played in his favourite position he'd be up in the top bracket. I also don't think you should underestimate the way that Lallana, Lambert and Guly really seem to be on the same wavelength.
