Never lived in Southampton. Born in bred in the cultural wasteland of Basingstoke. Dad was and still is a Liverpool fan owing to the fact that he moved about 16 times when he was a kid, never had a proper 'home' and so plumped for the best team of the time! When I was seven or eight, ome time around 1980, I decided I wanted to support a Hampshire team and obviously went for the best available (admittedly it might have been the Keegan factor). I now live in South East London and have three kids who've all adopted Saints as their team of choice.

Yawn. I'd imagine that judging by the fact we have been linked with Osvaldo, Damiao and Quagliaralla to name but a few that we are in the market for a striker. It would also appear from those names that we are after someone a cut above Hooper. I'll be ****ed off if we don't end up with a decent one and Hooper has a good season at Norwich, but at the moment there's still plenty of time to get a marquee signing in.

Great post. I think Gaston showed enough glimpses of talent last season for us to give him more time. He's a young player who doesn't speak the language, trying to get to grips with a new league in a season disrupted by niggly injuries. It was always a big ask to expect him to come in and perform consistently brilliantly last season. If he has another poor season this time around maybe it'll be time to question his signing. Personally I'm hoping for a decent level of improvement season on season.
