  1. Not bad. That last line doesn't quite fit though does it? Not that I have an alternative to mind.
  2. To the tune of 'Brown Sugar' by The Stones: Clap - clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, Osvaldo, how come you play so good? Clap - clap, clap, clap, clap, clap Osvaldo, just like we knew you would.
  3. What a way to sign off Monk, you old tease.
  4. That's because you're the manager and Pochettino ain't.
  5. He likes our all red kit?
  6. I'm well aware of that, it's a squad game, but as you well know there are almost always first choice players and squad players. Anyway, I have two days left of my holiday so I'll leave the debate/arguments to the rest of you.
  7. Depends at which one he'd be playing every week. Don't know who he'd be competing with at Inter but given who Spurs have already purchased and who they're allegedly in for I'd imagine he wouldn't be guaranteed that there. However, obviously if he was guaranteed to start every week for each team we'd be bottom of that list.
  8. This would seem to be where things are at.
  9. Maybe it's having to wade through all of your wisdom? FWIW I believe very few players move purely for the money. Maybe if two similarly matched clubs approach a player, that player will choose the one that'll pay them more. Sure, we may have to offer more in wages than a club like Spurs to turn top players heads as we don't have the history of success, recent or otherwise. But Turks, I think you must have your head in the sand if you think the chance of regular first team football, in the most popular and lucrative league in the world, isn't a possible draw in a World Cup year then you haven't got your head on straight. If Osvaldo does come here on this basis I couldn't give a flying feck. If players want to use us as a stepping stone then so be it, as long as they give their all while they're here. There will always be those like Lallana and Lambert who love the club to balance things out, and it'll only be by attracting these players that we'll move up the division. If we move up, some may stay and others will come. I know we're not as big a club as Man City but this is how they did it. Sure there may be failures like Robinho along the way but nothing is certain in football.
  10. To be fair I think there are a fair few who already know it. The following article was written after his call-up but before last night. Apologies if it's been posted before. http://www.express.co.uk/comment/columnists/jim-holden/421184/Spot-on-Rickie-Lambert-England-call-up-is-wonderful-news In the game there are those who can see where Carroll's weeknesses are, Rogers could see he didn't immediately fit a technical team and got rid, and I'd imagine RH is also aware. That's not to say he can't improve but at the moment I think Hodgson will realise Rickie's got a bit more going for him. I think that barring injury Rickie'll be in the next squad. There was a telling bit at the end of RH's post match interview that I've not seen picked up on elsewhere. Hodgson said something along the lines of 'I respect Rickie for working so hard and long and earning the chance to be here late in his career, as I have."
  11. Still buzzing so just watching the match for the third time now on ITV+1. Was really worried that Rickie wasn't going to even get on the pitch, but what a way to announce his arrival on the international scene! The TV in the static caravan is so small I wouldn't have realised who'd connected with the corner if it wasn't for the commentator's cry of 'Lambert!' I was leaping around so much we were in danger of breaking our fixings and rolling down the hill. So chuffed for him and so proud he's a Saint.
  12. Absolutely chuffed for the man. Don't think anyone could have hoped for better. Just hope the miss doesn't do him too much harm. Would like to see how much the defender got on it.
  13. You ****ing beauty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Lol. My ploy worked!
  15. Exactly this. Two ways he's getting more than 10mins. We go two goals up or Rooney gets a knock.
  16. I see Invisimod's been a busy little chappie while I've been away on holiday.
  17. What makes you say that?
  18. TBH your attitude frequently gets my back up. It's not what you say but how you say it, you're obviously a knowledgeable chap. I think that is what causes some people to rail against you. I'm not sure where this party line ******** comes from either. There are plenty on this site who sit on both sides of the fence in any argument. The issue is that those of us without an agenda, or a source of inside information, are willing to give those running the club a little leeway, due to the fact that first and foremost they saved us from oblivion and have then pulled off their promise of success and Premier League football within five years. As a result we're willing to judge after events have take place, not based on rumour.
  19. TBH it's hilarious if unintentional but an awful attempt at humour if not!
  20. Hmmm. Reports are that Spurs are in for Lamela for £30m. Not sure Roma would sell Lamela and Osvaldo, would they?
  21. Looks like he played almost 70mins of Roma's friendly with Chelsea yesterday. Not that it indicates anything one way or another, but there seem to have been reports of him sitting out earlier matches of the US tour.
  22. Just popped online after spending the day getting sunburned with the family in Devon. What news! Who gives a flying feck who had to be injured for him to get a look in? I bet the man himself doesn't. Totally chuffed to bits for an absolute Saints legend. Hope he gets a decent amount of time to do himself justice. Well done Rickie on both bits of great news.
  23. The king of irony strikes again. If I was forced to name one thing I admire about you Alps, it would be your unrelenting consistency.
  24. To be honest mate, it's more a case of act like a bellend get treated like a bellend.
