Agree. While they've obviously bought more quality than us, Spurs have started pretty similarly. If it wasn't for a couple of pens against Swansea and Crystal Palace, they'd have two points so far this season. Bad and borderline decisions have arguably cost us at least three points over the last two games.

I didn't see yesterday's game but I was countered with similar stats when I questioned his passing in th Sunderland match. Having looked back at that match I'd stick with my initial feeling that his passing's a little iffy. Quite a few of his completed passes in that game put the receiving player under pressure. If a pass is bobbly or slightly off target it can put us on the back foot, make it easier for the opposition to turn over possession and slow our attacking play. I think one reason we aren't looking as cohesive is that the understanding that has built up over two seasons between Cork and Morgan has been broken. In time VW will probably be an improvement over Cork (at £12m he should be), but currently I think he is contributing to our disjointed performances. I'd say that other big factors have been Clyne not being fit to start the season and Shaw picking up a knock. We rely on them for width. When Clyne's been out it makes it easier for teams to block us out as they essentially only have to worry about one flank. On top of that Rickie's looked jaded. Whether through sleepless nights, the England thing or trying too hard because Osvaldo has come in I don't know.

I've been wondering if it's not been Sinclair and Moses that we've been monitoring, but actually Townsend. Firstly MP has said were keeping and eye on the market, probably waiting to see who might free up given other transfers. Then we have the usually reliable Monk saying that we were looking at a young English player that wasn't Sinclair. OK he changed his mind but given that Sinclair didn't come maybe he was right first time and it was someone else. I seem to remember Townsend's name being mentioned earlier in the summer, although whether that was speculation on here or from a more reliable source I don't remember. He'd also fit the young and English mould.

Evening all Afraid I'm having a bit of a 'dur dur dur dur, dur dur dur dur' moment. There I was reading through the 'Osvaldo Off Topic Thread' when Bob's plagiarism of the king of MB fashion got me thinking about good old Turks himself. I was about to post a reply but thought better of it and cheerily continued my browsing instead. Next up I hopped across to the All New 'Unhealthy Obsession With Southampton Football Club' thread. While I could appreciate some of what CWAB was saying in the OP, the general tone of voice once again reminded me of Turks, so much so in fact that I was about to ask CWAB if he was in actual fact Turks incognito. However, before I could do so, up popped another of my favourite posters Bazza. Lo and behold Bazza then proceeds to suggest that CWAB thinks of himself as Patrick Bateman from American Psycho. Rather uncannily this bore a striking similarity to that which I was thinking of posting on the Osvaldo thread with regards to Turks, thus reinforcing my suspicion that they could be one and the same. Then a little further down Turks pipes up himself, obviously trying to throw us all of the scent á la Glasgow. It was at this point I began to get the idea that maybe this place is just a figment of my imagination and you lot, merely facets of my rather fractured personality. The only thing that makes me doubt the latter, is I'm not sure that even my disturbed personality could have come up with Bearsy.
