Unfortunately those booing at the match were unlikely to be anything but. I thought many on here were overly harsh about his performance against Liverpool a fortnight ago. He won little in the air that day but his hold up play when it went into his chest or feet was pretty good I thought. He used his strength well and linked up play intelligently at times. I didn't see yesterday's performance so can't comment on it but getting on his back ain't gonna help. From MoTD last night and the first match I'd say at least he's not afraid to show for the ball regularly, even when things aren't going well.

Posted a link to the same article last night. As I said on my thread nice article but pity professional journalists can't do enough research to ensure 'facts' like the Clyne thing are correct. As you say, unlikely to happen, too many clubs out for themselves and the Premier League unlikely to ratify the changes required. Also wonder how much of what's set our academy apart will continue with the new(ish) board in place. Their managerial appointment and summer spending has gone a long way to reassure me they want what's best for the club, but I can't help but feel they've made a few mistakes along the way. I hope that they learn from these and cut them out in the future.

Wanyama's follow up clearing header was even worse, Davis and I think Morgan failed to challenge Sterling, Fonte ducked the assist and Clyne, probably unsurprisingly given that comedy of errors, failed to track Sturridge's run. Pretty good defending apart from that!

Great performance. Not sure about taking Tadic off for long though. I'd have taken Davis off, dropped Ward-Prowse into the middle and put Long on the right.

Welcome aboard Shane. I know there's a lot of Welbeck haters on here but if he ends up at Hull for not much more than we've paid for Long I'll think we've got the wrong end of the deal. Not unhappy as things stand though. Would be nice to get a decent CB sharpish in though.
