I don't think I could bear losing to them again tbh. I have a mate who supports them and after years of being below us he is loving this. Whatever happens, we cant play worse than last year... can we?
-
Why is this now happening so much??? Immature posters should be punished like they always used to be, I don't know why the situation has changed.

I really dont think anyone can call this decision ridiculous when they are completely clueless as to what happened behind the scenes. We all know that Pardew was quite a controversial man at times, and clearly he wasnt compatible with Cortese and his aims. For that reason alone he had to go. I also agree to an extent that his decisions (or lack off) during games has costs us valuable points at times. I remember just how long it took him to make a change at Swindon away last year! Regardless of these points it is very concerning that on the back of a 4 nil away win he is sent packing. The mix up may also costs us games, when it seemed that we were almost back to winning ways. Lets just hope Cortese has thought this through carefully.

Can everyone stop making snipe remarks towards the 'boo boys' please, its incredibly boring. Well done Saints, lets push on with this form! -
At the moment I think he should be a replacement for Hammond- The potential Guly and Schneiderlin have got in midfield is enormous!

Hmm yes I have always thought that to a certain extent, but he is a hard fighting midfielder. There seems to be a lot of negatives concerning Puncheon, yet he has always impressed me when I have watched him. Is this backlash from his behaviour at the memorial or is he genuinely ****? -
Sounds good, I looked around Southampton, lovely uni. Good luck.

Yep havent really thought about it yet, but now the stomach feeling is coming on haha. Need ABB to do History at the University of Leicester, how about you guys? AAB and I get a grand scholarship, so heres hoping!

You could make a film out of it.

Truly sad. What a lovely, caring and friendly man he was. Either way he has saved us and he will always he remembered. -
Our great owner has passed away. Somebody needs to start a thread.

How any Saints fan can believe that this situation is in anyway positive for the club is beyond me. The club is fast losing its 'family friendly' image, which both excludes other organisations and even, it seems, its own fans. At least the old regime succeeded in this respect, despite its shortcomings Dont get me wrong, I am still on the whole extremely satisfied with the way Cortese and co has handled things since the takeover. However, it is essential in my view that the management rethink its current policies in order to retain its community feel, because the situation is quickly becoming out of hand.
-
Do you believe we would have got as many wins without them? Without trawling through a list, I am trying to emphasise that we have a lack of options at the moment.
-
All of which are wing backs, one of which I would argue wasnt exactly essential considering the present cover. Antonio and Papa were absolutely crucial in many of our wins last season, and as yet have not been replaced. The alarming fact is is that we are lacking squad players that can come into the team and do a job, and we are extremely thin all across the midfield. If, god forbid, Lambert picks up a lengthy injury, i can see us in big trouble this year. Having said that, a couple of new faces in the next couple of weeks could change the whole situation. The grim reality right now is that this current team is weaker than that of the second half of last season. I think most fans would be lying if this was the pre-season that they had in mind.
-
Although I'm usually quite a positive fan, I do feel quite concerned. We have no where near the strength and depth of last year and are key players are currently out. Unless things change fast (key players coming back in/new players signed, PARTICULARLY A CM) I can see us having a rather disappointing start to the season, probably starting with Plymouth

Looks too much like a training kit to me.
-
No I disagree with you here. When Waigo came on he totally changed the way we played, and defences struggled to cope against his unique and alternative style of play. I remember him coming on against Carlisle near the end of the season I think, and we immediately looked more potent as he created space and ran them ragged. For me, exclusively an impact player. Anyway for me, a central midfielder is an absolute must. We looked clueless when Schneiderlin was replaced by Wotton for whatever reason, and we can't afford to let games disappointingly slip away from us this season in that fashion.

Tragic really that I miss out on all this rivalry whilst surviving oop north and true, it does provide a distraction in the more boring moments.

This is the first time i've been on this thread, and i have now contributed the 27,126th post on the 543rd page. I am scared that our obsession with our neighbours is taking over what it means to be a supporter. Now not being local, I admit I dont share the rivalry that some of you do, but surely people should spend more time obsessing over their own club than someone elses?
-
I saved a penalty to win the match a couple of weeks ago, but its the same situation for both goalie and striker. I made up my mind which way I was going before he stepped up, and it was the perfect height. It goes to show you have to be confident in the way you hit them- top or bottom corner.

Relieved that this statement has finally come, and I for one don't blame fans for questioning things- when there is no immediate response to such rumours it is only natural that people are concerned. Also not sure about the comments made about ex-Saints, particularly Matt Le Tiss. I am worried that this club will become some sort of dictatorship, excluding our heritage and what makes us the saints. But having said that, I am pleased with the current progress, and his ambitions for the club are truly exciting! I just hope that NC can be a tad more accomodating whilst carrying out his plans.
