  1. Its the complacency on this thread, that's what did it. People need to be more negative.
  2. I think the problem on tuesday was there was a lack of gasmask nuns. They have done the job before!
  3. I thought Pericard scored two goals against us that game? Terrible player nevertheless.
  4. Interesting you should say that, because I wasn't amazingly impressed with Richardson against Burnley. In all fairness he did put in a cracking ball into Rickie which should have been converted, and is good going forward, but in a team which likes to pass it on the deck he seems the odd one out. Fox has the ability to keep play flowing, even if it means playing it back to a centre back. Richardson seems to panic on the ball and hoof it, or misplace a pass, breaking up the passage of play. Very good defensively, but to me he doesn't have the passing qualities of an assured fullback.
  5. Yes but that is only because we are outscoring our opponents. Tonight was a perfect example of what happens when we don't take our chances. The OP is right, we need to rack up some clean sheets or at least start tightening up defensively, otherwise a lot of games could slip away like this. Still very pleased with how we sound going forward though.
  6. Has anyone got an internet link for this one? thanks.
  7. According to the font of all knowledge that is Fifa, Reeves is a left back. I can only presume that NA has decided that his talents are best used elsewhere.
  8. Taken my mate to about 5 Saints games. He recently started a management career as Southampton on Fifa. My work is done.
  9. Agreed Colin, I would like to see him at least on the bench.
  10. Would like to see a team along those lines. Holmes definately needs to start when taking into account his performance at Swindon. If it isn't going well, bring some big guns off the bench.
  11. My colleague ask me today, 'why if the world is so poor, we don't just print more money?'. I replied that it would take me longer than my half hour lunch to explain the answer.
  12. Winner.
  13. Hoping for a few changes tonight, we definately don't want to risk injuries ie to Lallana. Looking forward to tonight! Bart Butterfield Martin Seaborne Harding De Ridder Chaplow Schneiderlin Holmes Lambert Guly
  14. Stephens will probably get torn a new one, didn't play well against Kettering pre season.
  15. Its all about the video footage these days.
  16. Burnley fans reckon his is a good winger but cant defend, could be interesting...
  17. defo dont want to see the likes of lallana and fonte, its crucial that these kind of players are fit for league games. Martin and de Ridder both need game time. Bart Butterfield Martin Seabourne Dickson De Ridder Schneiderlin Chaplow Isgrove Doble Barnard
  18. In my opinion he deserves to be on the front cover- he has turned this club around and people love him for it. This kind of self promotion is part of his confident, successful no nonense image. Lighten up. He comes from Italy, he f*cking hates Pompey...
  19. Can anybody who was there tell us more about Isgrove? I saw him and Kettering and was really impressed. Shame about the scoreline. As per usual, Saints win no pre-season games.
  20. Apart from Chaplow v Man Utd, I remember the Barnard goal against Sheff Wed very well. This was at a point when our season was just starting to turn round, we still weren't playing great under Adkins, but when Lee scored everyone went nuts, perhaps more through relief than anything else.
  21. Agree with all of the above, and it was nice to see a few people from this thread albeit briefly at the end. For me Lloyd Isgrove really was the star of the show, most of our attacking moves went through him and he has pace to burn. If I had to pick one of the team who will make it successful, it would be him. Also impressed with both of our centre backs- they stood up extremely well against big strikers and kept a pretty tight ship. Both teams could have easily scored 3 or 4 if the quality of finishing was better, but overall it was a very evenly matched game. As somebody has already pointed out, Kettering were hardly a hoof it and hope team, they kept the ball on the ground and played an attractive passing game, as they have done for quite a few years now. Despite being a goalless draw it was an enjoyable evening, but sad as a local to see potentially the last game at Rockingham Road.
  22. im going, along with my old man and a mate, looking forward to it. The beeswing is the pub both sets of fans use before a game, if any saints fans want to go there beforehand im up for it.
  23. This thread is full of very boring jokes...
  24. Well its hardly an under 21 squad then is it.
