Listening to this now and not sure about it yet. Some bits are good but not immediately grabbing me, although most of my favourite albums take a while to get into so I will persist. Either way, I don't really get the immediate comparisons with AJFA or MOP at all.

I have never heard them but I have them down as being a younger version of The Proclaimers. Hopefully they will walk five thousand miles North.

Drama queen pikeys. It's not the end of the world for those who haven't travelled on their holidays or who have to waste a few hours working out how to get home. In fact, it almost makes me laugh to see such pathetic people crying - get a grip, it's not so bad. They'll probably get their money back and be able to book another crappy package holiday anywhere else anyway. They're unlikely to have been going on a dream honeymoon/holiday on the lash in Tenerife or whatever other gyppo places they're travelling to. Most will have been slightly inconvenienced at the worst. Much worse for the people who have unexpectedly lost their jobs and have a mortgage and bills to pay next month etc... who do have my sympathy. Put it into perspective, if you can you cackers.

I will second that Vietnam is great. A few alternative suggestions though: - I wouldn't particularly bother with any more than a day in HCMC. Hanoi is miles better. - I would go to the Temples of Angkor in Cambodia instead of the Mekong for 3 days or so. Superb plus some very nice hotels there as well. - Halong Bay is incredible and I would spend a couple of days on your own (crewed) junk there. You can go swimming, kayaking, whatever and it is dirt cheap. Watch out for the monkeys on Monkey Island though as one of the little sh*ts attacked me and I was convinced I had rabies. - Not sure about the "communist controlled tour programme" - I did it completely independently without having to go to any authorities for anything other than a visa and no organised trip whatsoever.

It is a holiday. I have done this trek and it was the one of the most enjoyable things I have ever done on my travels. I loved it. To say it isn't a holiday is downright misleading. Cleaning out toilets in Kenya for charity - now that isn't a holiday. It does seem as though you are asking people to pay for you to enjoy yourself, albeit it is quite hard work going round collecting cash. If you do do it, and good luck to you persuading people to pay for to do that, you will love it - it is amazing. Also, you won't have anything to do fitness wise either - yeah the second day is fairly tough, but it really isn't that hard and the rewards more than make up for any toughness. In fact there were a couple of 70 year old codgers in my group, who took three times longer than anyone else but ulitimately didn't have any problems whatsoever. I didn't bother exercising before hand and it was a walk in the park.

It is a crappy film from 1984, normally you'd watch it on TV. Nobody would pay anything to see that. Not even slightly interesting, as evidenced by zero replies before this one. Definitely a 'so what' moment. Thanks anyway.
