  1. James looks poor, Brown was doing his and the non running free kick/corner specialist work, Ferdinand/Terry adequate, Cole tried hard, The midfield was dire, Barry looked like he was playing with a hangover, Gerrard was so out of position, did Lampard play? Defoe doesn't do passing, I haven't got a clue where Rooney was supposed to be playing. All in all a complete shambles. The subs were poor, how does Downing get in the squad. All the passing was across the field or gave the ball away. No pace, Where was Walcott? Too demoralized to go on...........and on.
  2. I thought he played forward in midfield for S****horpe against us last year. I may be wrong but I remember thinking that he would do well on loan to us. I may be incorrect but I thought everything went through him.
  3. And the ex Man City keeper from Preston last year I believe.
  4. Surman doesn't have pace he lost McFadden for the second goal on Saturday. I wouldn't call Schneiderlin quick and Lallana certainly isn't. Thomas was always suspect at Burnley, I was surprised at the fee but he doesn't display any leadership and is pretty rash with his tackling and his timing and positional covering is poor.
  5. No problem in the main, due to not being able to sell Raziak, Skacel, Euell, Davis and Saganowski it caused Davies to be sold however it does look as though he wanted to go, once he knew Premier money and football beckoned.

Was last Tuesday, then this Tuesday, never happened, now next Wednesday! The main man from Singapore was supposed to be in town 9 days ago. I'm still sceptical. In any event unless the money is put in by the new owners and not borrowed it won't work. Better to do what we are doing, than spend using a big credit card. Leeds is the prime example of that.
  7. Pretty smart replacing pace with plod. We are trying to go forwards not have more of the dire, no pace football of last season.
  8. Could be that JP is not impressed by John's offside decisions when he walks back instead of jogging. He does lack pace and in the second half he wasn't able to hold the ball up and bring his team into play. He continually lost the ball until taken off. I may be way off the beam, but maybe someone is in for John and Saga has been recalled, HCDAJFU up front and is much more mobile.
  9. He had to come into the middle as Svennson was moving towards Perry who missed the tackle about 10yds from the corner flag. Thats why Svennson was able to get on the near post to try and clear the header. The cross missed everybody out including Davis who did his best.
  10. You make a fair point here. I think
  11. Lets have a bit of perspective here. The goals against were 1) a ball up the middle and a tackle missed by Svennson, 2) the second goal was down our left Surman lost McFadden, Perry missed the final tackle before the cross to Bent. James was the last man and did get beaten by Bent but he did his job pretty well with no cover from the man in front of him, in fact Owusu-Abeyie was taken off and replaced by Philips. It was the experienced players not the youngsters, last week Svennson was beaten for the winner at Cardiff.
  12. Obviously you meant Lloyd James not Thomas. Your last sentence makes no sense at all. JP has got it right with Thomas, he is pretty poor.
  13. Is that the same Thomas that kept missing tackles and headers against Stoke? The team don't need an inclusion of slow useless players who bored us to death or went somewhere else to play last season. If it was down to me Skacel would never pull on a Saints shirt again. Despite being wanted here he went to Berlin.
  14. Bloody rediculous juvenile thread. One of the most stupid comments possible.
  15. John is playing for Trinidad tomorrow.
  16. I think you'll find it has just dropped 7%. It was about 1.97 recently. It certainly wasn't 1.74 in the last year.
  17. I saw 2 teams v Stoke that didn't back that up. The squad last year was dire.
  18. This is the old Thorneycroft's site on the other side of the river south of the Itchen Bridge. It's nothing to do with the West bank. SEEDA bought the site but there is a big row about the content.
  19. Released by Reading, I believe now at Brentford permanently.
  20. Shearer is allegedly connected to the Fulford bid. It was supposed to be last mon/tues now this tues (rumour). The money is alleged to be from the far east, the owner of which was supposed to be in town last week. The takeover is alleged to be tied to the West bank of the Itchen redevelopment. The principals are rumoured to know nothing about any redevelopment. It appears to me that the takeover cannot be carried out until the money is supplied, therefore in this financial climate, with the dollar falling against the pound, it is hardly likely, a football club, losing millions, requiring vast investment to turn around, is the place someone would choose to invest.
  21. The team this year are much better value than the last two years.
  22. Why the surprise, either we sold Raziak, Skacel, Saganowski, Euell, Davis, Thomas who we were happy to sell, or we have to sell players we wanted to keep. Simple isn't it? I'm not happy but I understand why. Now get behind the team.
  23. Do we know that for sure?
  24. Lowe's present actions would appear to indicate that there is no takeover on the horizon. All his actions including selling Davies looks like trying to steady the ship.
  25. The sort of thing we would do. If I knew he was likely to join us I would have taken more notice of him v Stoke. Can't see him being better than Gillett.
